Seafood Pad Se Ew and Thai ice tea
E W.

A no frills and simple Thai spot. I ordered the Seafood Pad Se Ew. The seafood that was included was shrimp and some calamari strips. The sauce was plentiful and tasty. It was only 13.00. Thai ice tea 3.00. They caught on to most of Japans business model of paying first then you can seat yourself. Smart and necessary for the world we live in. Need a quick fix for some Thai food, pop on in.

Garlic chicken

Went here for lunch and ordered vegetable drunken noodles. The place is run by a family of mom dad and son. Mom and son does the cooking dad is at register and serves food to table. Service is quick and very reasonable price for the location and food. The food is made to order and ample quantity and fresh. Have been here a dozen times over the last 6 months. Bottom line will visit this place again.

Went back today and love the food ! Like I said, I been going here since I was single and still eat here for over 30 years and still love the home cooking and made fresh daily as you order. :) Pandemic changed the table spice condiments that I miss a lot but the food is still fresh and yummy !

Cashew chicken spicy spicy

I've been coming here since I was a child no lie. After all these years here my review. I am very thankful they are still here. I always order the same thing and they never disappoint. I'll call and they know my order. Cashew Chicken, med spicy, no onion add ginger. The pic is old when I used to get it spicy spicy and with onion. Please come here support and keep the business going

Jungle vegetable curry
James H.

The price to portion is pretty good here but the flavor is average. Order at the front and pay with cash only. They have a atm on site. I had the jungle vegetable curry @ $7.30 and it was way too watery. They don't use coconut milk in some of the curries and it makes a big difference. Everything about it didn't taste good. But it was a huge portion with low price. I'll return to try something else next time. But for now it's pretty mediocre but colleagues liked their dishes.

a tray of food with a spoon in it

I am regretfully giving this review based on the presentation and texture. I've ordered the same thing at several Thai spots (Panang Curry with white rice), but this was the first time that they combined the white rice and curry together. I opened the container when I got home, and was thoroughly displeased. I am used to having a bowl or container of curry, and a serving of rice on the side to control the amount that I want to mix together. I am now forced to eat it in one sitting or elsewhere the rice will get extremely soggy.

Thai food is one of my favorite, came across this spot while in the area. The owners are so so sweet and kind. They made me feel as if I was in their home. The food was very tasty and not very oily like some places I've been to. I highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for Thai cuisine

I had the prawn salad- it wasn't spicy and was sort of bland. Maybe it was a bad day.

It does get busy so definitely make a reservation if you can. I got their o-leng martini which is essentially an espresso martini. It's definitely on the sweeter side but that's what I like because I've had espresso martini at different places and sometimes it's a little too bitter from the coffee or the alcohol so this was perfect for me. My sister got their Thai tea which she enjoyed. If you haven't had Thai tea from an actual Thai restaurant, you're missing out because it tastes way better than ordering it from a boba shop. If you like beer, I highly recommend their banana beer. I didn't order it here but I have had a different Thai restaurant and I absolutely loved it. It's a lighter beer which I prefer. For food my sister got the pad thai which you can't go wrong with ordering this. It was delicious and honestly a big portion so we did Togo it home and it was still delicious the next morning. I got their Boat Noodle Soup which was absolutely delicious and very filling. Their slow cooked beef was so tender and the broth was so savory. This was my first time ever ordering boat noodle soup at a Thai restaurant so I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone and tried something new because I loved it. For dessert we shared their mango sticky rice. This is a must have dessert when visiting a Thai restaurant!! The mango was perfectly ripped and the sticky rice with the coconut milk was delicious.

Chai Thai Noodles is an amazing Thai restaurant near Lake Merritt in Oakland. My friends told me…read moreabout this place many years ago, we were lucky to find out about it. They serve many authentic Thai and Lao dishes with lots of depth and rich flavors. My favorite dish here is Prig King, a green bean dish served with your protein of choice in a spicy sauce. It pairs well with any rice dish, and fun to share when you're ordering a few entrees. Their rolls, curries and papaya salads are also great choices! The customer service is good, they constantly check in on you and refill your water without interruption. The decor is nice, with a fair amount of seating during lunch hours. They have locations in Berkeley and Hayward as well. Chai Thai is a great spot to have Thai food if you're near the 880. Be prepared to explore their menu, and you'll be happy if you love spice! You'll find out why they keep the locals happy!

Came by Chai Thai Noodles in Oakland for a late dinner and it hit the spot…read more I ordered the Chan Pad Poo, which is basically Pad Thai with crab meat. Asked for it extra saucy and it came out just right--definitely one of the better Pad Thais I've had in a while. The crab gave it a nice richness and I'd happily get it again. Also tried the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with flat noodles. Noodles were cooked well, but the broth didn't have that deep tangy/spicy punch I usually look for in Tom Yum. Not bad, just a little lighter than what I'm used to. Menu marked both dishes as spicy, but they weren't too hot. For me, that was fine since I like a good kick (my spice tolerance is about eating Thai red chilis straight), but most people would probably find the heat level pretty comfortable. Service was quick and friendly, and the place had a relaxed vibe. Not too busy for dinner, with some nice artwork and Thai décor around the room. Overall, I enjoyed it--especially that Chan Pad Poo--and would definitely come back again.
