I hired this company for termite inspection and service, which was done in June 2015 in Stockton for my parents. Ray Carrier, the owner, rushed through inspection didn't inspect the attic, refused to look in the cabinets in the bathroom although they were unobstructed stating he knows what to check for, also the walls due to wallpaper like most of the kitchen, skipped the living room due to paneling, under the bathroom sinks or inside bedroom closets although they were cleared yet he said peaking his head up in the attic there was dry rot, but never entered it. Looked at part of the kitchen, we offered to move any stuff obstructing view but he didn't want to return for that inspection. We agreed to do a perimeter treatment, and after we signed the paperwork for treatment then he said he could look at a few more areas that were obstructed which my parents moved away from the wall, but still only looked a few places not all. I was disappointed since they moved everything so his view wasn't obstructed. The original estimate was $4,270 which was outrageously high reduced to $1700, also $125 for inspection, and considering he didn't do everything he stated he would because he felt it was not necessary then it was reduced. My parents would have paid anything to get rid of the termites so they would have paid the higher price since we were not as knowledgeable then, but I didn't like that he skipped the bathroom wall cabinet and several other areas or claimed they were inspected on the report, but they weren't. He also blamed my parents that they didn't want him to inspect those areas I saw were not inspected on the copy he sent, but that's not true they didn't because he stated it wasn't necessary, and didn't send us an updated copy. He only spot treated a few bedrooms and didn't do everything he told us he would, he arrived late for treatment with another technician, rushed that because he was late and came during the hottest time of day, but my parents at this point just wanted it finished. He was unprofessional when I or my parents asked questions, he made it seem like he's the expert, we didn't have an option, this is because this is the best way to treat them or I was bothering him by asking anything because he's busy. We called them back during covid for the bathroom wall cabinet, which didn't have wall paper when he did the initial inspection, which he refused to check at that time. We saw active termites on the floor in there and he stated he would not return for such a small job, which surprised me that he was more about the money than the customer. He seemed nice at the end of the job when he got paid, and said if anything happens we can call them, and gave us his card, based on that I thought we could contact them. We ended up taking care of the problem ourselves, including spraying the perimeter of the house and garage. We did a perimeter service with this company using IMAX Pro, premise foam and bate traps; had all our windows, gutters, stucco, and concrete redone per his recommendation that work was done by Lowes after termite treatment was complete. We checked the areas of wall he refused to check when they removed and replaced our windows. My father also checked the attic himself afterwards. I provided photos so you know we are a legitimate customer. So when we thought we may have termites again this year, since he refused our business before I cannot recommend this company...we went with another company I'm so glad we did and I suggest you do the same. read more

Their service was outstanding in 2019 when we started the regular service with them but sadly it's gone downhill. Lately, the techs seem to spend hardly a few minutes spraying the outside of our home, spiders were everywhere outside and inside and when we reported a roach and rodent problem recently, they did not have appointments for us until a week to 10 days out! I had Take Care Termite come out to my house back in November to do a home inspection and complete section I and II work. The crew that came out were friendly and polite. They wore masks and did a great job. TCT does good work but there were two things that really made them stand out. When doing the repair work their crew offered suggestions. We needed our back door replaced which opened from left to right (wall side to wash machine) instead of sticking with that setup they asked if we wanted it to open from right to left (wash machine to wall). Wow! I never thought about that and it's so much nicer having it like that. Also there were a couple things that they need to come back for to touch up/repair. I believe that defects/issues happen (we're all human) but it's how a company deals with them that's important. Both times TCT was quick to respond and send someone out to make it right. They were extremely polite and apologetic, took the time to explain the issue and how they fixed it. They also made sure we were completely satisfied before they left. We have used TCT in the past for minor things here and there and I can say they are consistent. We will definitely be using them again! read more

We found a couple of termite flies lying around the house. We took a tour of the crawlspace and attic space, but found no obvious sign of infestation. A google/yelp search led us to Take Care Termite. I spoke with them and explained the situation. Ray called back a few hours later and offered to look at pictures of the termite fly and offer suggestions. We were watchful for next couple of days, but could not find any termite flies to take a picture of. Nevertheless, the thought/fear of hidden infestations lead us to schedule a whole house inspection, just in case. On the day of the inspection, Ray came with a mask (due to the Covid-19) on and shoe covers, did a thorough job and provided a comprehensive report (for a nominal fee, of course). He explained the findings. Good news was that there were no termites anywhere. Bad news was that there was fungus infested wood in the crawl space, and bats were living in the attic (which explained the occasional noise we heard at night). We scheduled Ray to come back to treat the infested wood and clean up the crawl space. Again, he came with a mask and shoe covers. He explained what he did clearly, and the crawl space looked much better. Bats situation was a little tricky. Alameda county vector control team loaned a noise making device that drove the bats away (in just 1-2 days). Ray's colleague Jason came by a few days later to seal up the soffit opening that was being used by the bats to access the attic. I recently had an experience with this company that was at best a poor representation of how they wrote a Termite report. I'm in the process of selling my home and the potential buyer hired this company for a pest inspection. My garage is filled with packed boxes for the upcoming move out of state. The report stated that the the whole parameter of the garage was filled with termites and the whole outside parameter was filled as well. When looking at the report and diagram of garage it does indicate that it was loaded with the little pest. I did question this and got a 2nd opinion and there was 1, I repeat 1 extremely less than a nail size in diameter in a spot that you could see. I scheduled an appointment and removed all obstruction to see the areas that were tagged infected and showed on the diagram. As the new termite company walked the Garage as well as the outside walls of the house and found no, I repeat no signs of termites attacking the house or foundation. The red flag also rose when the buyer stated I need to use this company at the tune of thousands of dollars to repair the situation. When I asked the owner about this report and to explain how he came about it and shared those potential buyers back out of their offer do to termite infestation he could only tell me he was a Christan and a God-fearing man well I'm a Chaplin for a local police dept and that is no excuse to try and get thousands of dollars for repairs or help the buyer to drive down the cost of my home. When I asked for a revision of the report all I could hear was crickets. Next is getting a lawyer!!!!!!! Please be aware of not so honest folks!! read more

This company was referred by my realtor. A home inspection I had done noted possible rodent activity so I asked my realtor if he knew of any exterminators. My realtor recommended Take Care Termite and the owner, Ray. I spoke with Ray over the phone and decided to setup a combo termite/rodent inspection based on Ray's easygoing yet professional attitude. Ray came out to do both inspections and checked out my home including the attic/crawlspace. He even checked out a wood shed in my backyard. Afterwards, Ray did a walkthrough and pointed what he found. Ray had suggestions on what to do but was not pushy on what Take Care Termite could, which I appreciated. I received a proposal the next day detailing the suggested fixes and decided to move forward with the rodent extermination proposal. A few weeks ago we were doing demo of our old pergo floors to be able to install LVP. In one of the rooms we found termites. I called Take care after seeing some great referrals online. They didn't disappoint. They assisted me over the phone with what my flooring installers could do and not do until they could come out and inspect our house guests and get rid of them. I found this company by doing a search on Google. Saw they were local so called them up regarding a gopher problem I'm having. Was told the earliest someone could come out was on Tuesday (I called on Thursday). Said Ok and see them then. Tuesday came around and lucky I looked out my living room window as I saw a man walking away from my front door and no bell was rung. I went out to see him getting the driver's side door open (maybe to leave?) so I called out "can I help you". He then said he was here about a gopher problem. Spent a few minutes with him and he said he'd go back to the office and someone would call me back in a day or two with a proposal. Gave me his card and left. Thursday afternoon I called and asked about the proposal and was put on hold. Lady came back on and said the person taking care of proposals would email it out to me by the end of the afternoon. Midday Friday had nothing so found another company that did come out and really looked at my yard the next Tuesday. Gave me a few options and then said he'd try and get someone out before the end of the week. They finally came out the following Tuesday (what is it about Tuesdays?) and spent 1/2 hour gassing their tunnels. But no word ever received from Termite & Pest Control.
