The manager Brandon and his associates Chad try to rip me off and overcharge customers. I went in for an oil change, and they asked if I wanted the cabin air filter changed. I said no. The employee then said, "Well, it's free." My boyfriend and I looked at each other and agreed if it's free, why not? After we left, we noticed a $52.99 charge for the cabin filter. We turned around and came back within three minutes to ask why we were charged. We requested a refund and our old filter back. The manager refused to give us a refund and also refused to return the old filter, claiming it was already thrown away. On top of that, I also purchased a fuel cleaner. The staff was so disorganized they almost sent us off without charging us and without even putting the fuel cleaner in the vehicle. I had to remind them to do it. The whole situation felt intentional and dishonest. If it was truly free, it wouldn't have been charged. This was misleading and unacceptable. I would not recommend this place. read more

To summarize my experience in 3 words....total rip off. I called first to ask the cost of an oil change. I was not asked any qualifying questions about my car. She simply responded the price is $80. Expecting to pay $80, I drove into Take 5 Lube. I asked the robotic employee how long it would take as I had an eye appointment to attend. He said 15 minutes. I pulled into the garage only to be told to remain inside my car on this 90 degree day as customers were not allowed to leave their vehicle. It became apparent the employee wanted me to be a captive customer. He immediately explained the $80 oil change was not available to me because my car has over 75000 miles. Therefore I had to pay for the $113 oil change. My hood was already up so I felt compelled to stay. They then told me my air filter was dirty, my spark plugs need to be sprayed and my wipers needed to be changed. As I sat trapped in my vehicle, this began to feel more and more like a shake down for money. The 15 minutes expanded to 30 minutes, putting my eye appointment in jeopardy. My advice is to locate an honest outfit and avoid Take 5. read more

Came in a few weeks ago for an oil change. I had a $25 off coupon.. when I presented it, the guy cashing me out, got irritated by it. Because he had already closed out the order. He scoffed at me. Asked if I was serious and asked if I had " found it online just now" . He didn't even give me an opportunity prior, to mention I had a coupon. He was just trying to upsell me on everything. With as many different ones that are online, there was no reason to get mad for presenting a coupon at the time of checkout. This is the worst oil change experience i have ever had. I was guided into the stall and when they were getting all my personal information they took off my oil filter and emptied my oil. In the mean time I saw the pricing which is about double of most places in town i saw a service for $77 dollars which was high but i was already there and the other oil change places i had went to had a long wait. This place was empty on a Saturday, every other place i went to had a 30 minute to 2 hour wait. I told them i wanted the $77 service and they told me the only service they could offer me was $126 because i have a high milage vehicle and I have to have the "high milage oil". I said I dont want to pay that, close my hood and ill leave. The problem was that they already drained my oil and removed my oil filter and i didnt have any choice in the matter. A young girl told me i should have looked online to get the pricing before I came there and guess what? ( there is no pricing online!!!!!!!!!!! ) I was told that 3 different times. This is the highest price rudest oil change I have ever had and not only would i not recommend going here it is literally the highest price in town for an oil change. No wonder this place was empty on a Saturday when every other place had a long wait! This is a terrible business period! read more

I been here plenty of times and never have I ever felt this unwelcome. The manager Chad obviously had a problem with the fact that I'm Hispanic or part of the lgbt. The minute I parked my car he walked by another guy and made a comment and the other guy laughed I ignored it. They were helping a lady and I saw how kind he was to her. Once it got to me he didn't speak to me he had Brandon help me. Brandon didnt want to take my coupon he said he had already checked me out. So I didn't want to make it a big deal since I already felt like an inconvenience. Once I was done Chad finally came to tell me he was the manager on duty and what I would rate them I didn't want to argue so I said I'd recommend it and rate it good. Well never will I be back, never will I recommend it and I'll make sure I spread the word. I could deal without the coupon but the customer service was disgusting. Also the guys under the car couldn't put the filter and was saying he was having a problem and Chad responded " figure it out" maybe get another job if you hate it that much, how are you a manager?? read more

I recently was due for an oil change and decided to give this place a try based on an online coupon I had. They handed me a bottle of water right away, and the service was fast and friendly. I really don't know much about different oil types but after them explaining the differences I opted for the medium grade oil. I was probably in and out in 20 minutes. read more

Unfortunately, not a great place to get your oil changed, I had originally received an oil change here last year and everything seemed to be OK. However, upon returning the more than handful of guys they had working there at the time spent over 30 minutes trying to get my plug for the oil drain out..and were unsuccessful. It appears that they had stripped it and had told me after waiting over 30 minutes in 95+ weather that they can't do anything about it and I had to take it to my mechanic (to fix a mistake that they had created) and then come back to get my oil changed there (haha...never again). Not only that but they left some sort of dust protector out under the car which fortunately didn't break/rip off. It took my mechanic around 45 minutes to remedy the situation...I don't recommend Take 5 Oil Change and in fact, would recommend looking at local shops/ your mechanic and avoiding quick lube locations in general (some may be great, but many appear to be less than ideal). Saving a couple of bucks isn't worth the time sink and headaches. read more

This business is new to us on the north side. I really put off my oil change this round. I found the employees kind and responsive. One employee was clearly early on in their career but was excellent. I really appreciated the mentors not demeaning or over-correcting the employee but really giving them a chance. The change was fast. The pricing was reasonable. My car immediately sounded better. I, as a woman, am always a little weary of service shops. I was so excited to receive straight information. The upsell opportunities were there, but the pressure was not. I immediately called a friend to tell them to try this location for their next oil change. UPDATE: One of the services they offer is 2 complimentary "top-offs" of your oil. Owning an older vehicle that burns some oil, I thought this might be a redeeming quality of this establishment. My oil was about 4/5 of a quart low, just above the "safe" line on the dipstick. I pulled up, and let them know I just needed a top off of oil. When they checked it in the bay, they told me "it looks good, it's still above the safe line". I said "Okay, go ahead and top it off". They ran through all the fluids and checked them, as well as filled my tires. All that was great, but they never topped off the oil. They played it off as "It's still above 'Safe', so you're all good!" Okay, so it has to be BELOW safe to get a top-off? And I'm supposed to drive it below the Safe level to get it topped off, AND time it just right to be there before it's too low? If that is the deal, that is a worthless service. Original review: It looked like this would be a good place for an oil change, since they have 3 bays and only two of them were occupied. They immediately pulled me into a bay and lifted my hood. Here is the catch: They have 3 bays, but we're only working on one bay at a time. I'm sitting in a bay, hood up, while they work on two cars before me, and I'm basically stuck. No warning of how long the process of getting me in and out would take. They pushed the high-priced synthetic with no mention of a standard oil change. No mention that my oil level was low when I arrived. Did not check tire air pressure (I had one tire that was visibly low), no check of lights or turn signals (I have a turn signal with a bulb out). I really liked my oil change. They were very respectful when I didn't quite understand my car. They showed me the oil levels and offered to change my engine filter then showed me the difference. My car sounds better and runs better!! Justus was very respectful and so was everyone else. You can tell it is a very nice locally owned business. They offer tons of coupons and options so if you can't afford the expensive one......don't get it. I chose the oil for 117.99$ and it has made my car run smoothly. I don't understand the reviews saying that they upsell......they're salesmen what do you think their job is? But they also give honest advice on what's best for your car. Will be going to get my wipers replaced soon :) I recommend going to this place and also getting a car wash which their top one is only 27$ which I have seen 58$ at other places before! Oil change time is important. This store is new do expect hiccups. Customers came and went while I watched the tech searching for my filter for 10 minutes. They removed the skid plate to get to it. 30 more minutes passed as we waited for the green light to go. 47 minutes to get the job done. I am sure this will get better but Unfortunatly for them we will take our money elsewhere in the future read more

New operation in town. I usually use another place for oil change but they were closed today. I was fortunate to find these guys. Super efficient and professional. No upselling and they did a great job, quickly. The free windshield wash is a nice finishing touch on the service. read more

Finding reasonable oil changes are hard! Received a coupon in the mail and was curious to see what it was all about. The employees were super helpful in walking me through all their options and asking me what I wanted done to my car. Low pressure atmosphere when it came to making a decision. Easy place to get all things done: engine filter, cabin air filter, wind shield wipers. They also explained that should these need to be changed, you can buy them else where and they will install them for free. Price was reasonable for my oil change/cabin air filter/engine filter and look forward to using them for all my oil and fluid changes in the future. read more
