Horrible experience and service - $140 for an oil change? One of them stripped a plug. I heard him swear about it and talk about it and the cashier lied about it said it was from before it came in. be careful - they will charge you 40 bucks more than they quote every time! When you give a quote for 108.00 for a specific vehicle it needs to include all charges. Don't add fees and add ons and charges for special filter after the fact. You know my car needs a synthetic filter when you give me a quote for synthetic oil, and you know before we start how much oil my car holds so don't hit me for an extra quart after the job is done. Went to grease monkey this evening. They acted like it was an inconvenience for them that I was there for an oil change after the oil change I want to start my Jeep to leave and the check engine light came on wasn't on before I went there and when I asked one guy about it he shrugged his shoulders and walked away only one person tried to help me said it was something to do with brake fluid which I thought they checked and said it would all be fine so I went to drive home got halfway home and had to get towed home I now have the vehicle there's a check engine light on and won't start. I don't think I'll be recommending them to anybody at this point in time on a star scale of 1 to 10 I would be a less than 10 rating for them. Thay quoted me 50.00 and charged me 73.66. read more

Don't waste your time or money. I went in to get an oil change on my 2010 Volkswagen golf around a month ago and two weeks after my car was completely out of oil. This is odd, sometimes my golf can leak a bit of oil but never a full four quarts after two weeks. I took it back to see if it was an issue with the filter or something to that effect, only to hear the staff make ridiculous comments about how it was my fault and this is a consequence of owning this sort of vehicle while my they were in the garage (I'm sure they thought I couldn't hear them). My complaint was completely disregarded and I was made to feel like it was my fault. As a woman it's not uncommon to get talked down to by workers in the automotive industry but this was just outrageous. Fortunately my dad is a car guy and redid the oil change for me. I haven't had an issue and it's been a little over two weeks and I still have plenty of oil. I would save the $125 and get it done somewhere else. Extremely disappointing. read more

They have always treated me courteously and professionally along with providing prompt service. I usually get my oil changed at another business but due to time restraints I tried Grease Monkey today. Checking in, the technician asks me how long it's been since my last oil change. I inform him of the mileage. He then tells me I'm early for my oil change and I have 2k miles left before I need to get it changed. Honesty at this level is rare to find these days at a service center where upselling and recommending unnecessary service seem to be commonplace. Extremely impressed! read more

I went to Grease Monkey today for an oil change because my dealership couldn't get me in for a few more weeks. I showed them the kind of oil the dealership normally uses and was advised that I should be able to drive another 2,500 miles based on the type of oil that was used. They then offered to check my oil and fluids for free and they said everything looked great. They could have easily just taken my money and done an oil change, as I wouldn't have known any better because I know nothing about cars. I brought my new 2020 GMC Sierra AT4 there for its first oil change. They said they could do it and took out the old oil filter with a wrench that put small holes in it. Then they asked me if I wanted synthetic or regular oil (the manufacture specifies a specific synthetic). After they damaged my oil filter (and didn't tell me about it) they told me they couldn't find the replacement and would put it back on. They charged me for a full oil change minus $7 for a filter. 2000 miles later my check engine light went on and I lost power on the freeway. Luckily I was 3 miles from a gmc dealer and took it there. The oil was completely empty and oil had been slowly leaking out the whole time. The dealer showed me the damaged oil filter. Not only did I almost blow up my engine due to their incompetence, it had the wrong oil the whole time. I will never trust this shop again. Be ware! read more

Friendly and upfront. I usually use my dealership for oil changes and tire rotations but due to a family vacation we needed to have service done asap. The shop was about to close as I pulled in, not one grimace or sigh that another customer had come. I usually shy away from places like this because of the stigma of it starts at $19.99 then it keeps climbing and climbing (your oil filter,your do hickey) etc. These guys were A+ professional and great service. I went to grease monkey for an oil change. This where I usually go with no problem. They told me I had m in tal shavings in my transmission fluid and that the fluid was dark. I took my car into a specialist and they were confused because my transmission fluid was clean and red and they could not find a piece of metal anywhere. We took my sons 2006 Toyota Rav 4 here to get the oil changed as it was the closest place to our home. The service was good however it was way over priced. They charged us 88.99 for the oil change. The Toyota dealership only charges 49.99 I will be taking it to the dealership from now on!!!! read more

I would like to warn anyone thinking of getting services done at Grease Monkey at the Wandermere location. I went there to get my oil changed knowing that it was a synthetic oil and looking at the board shows that the cost of this service is $71.99 when my service was completed they are going over on the computer with me what had been done and they were charging me $91.99 for my oil change and when I questioned the charge they said "well your car takes special synthetic oil its 5w 40" what kind of crap is that? NO ONE told me that my car takes "special synthetic" (which it doesn't) they just charged me for it and no, they did not honor the price of $71.99 as any reputable company would have. If I would of known I was going to be charged an additional $20.00 for "special synthetic" I would of got in my car, left and taken it to the dealer where the oil change is $64.99 Did they do this because I am a woman? I would say, yes. Why do I say that? Looking at my invoice it shows they put Mobil Delvac 1 in my car (which is the "special synthetic oil" my car requires) thing is my car is not a diesel engine which is what Mobil Delvac 1 is used for and also to verify what oil my vehicle takes I had a man call other Grease Monkey locations in the United States and they all said no, it doesn't require Delvac...hmmm, interesting. Great service, I called and tried to set up an appointment, which they don't do. So I went as a walk-in. I was greeted before I walked in they took my keys and got my information. Before they did anything to my car they asked me what my preferences were and did not push for maintenance past what I asked for. They had me in and out in less than 30 minutes and vacuumed my car in the process. While in their waiting room, which was clean and the bathroom was spotless (greasy men it was still nice), I spoke with two other people getting their oil changes also and they both said "I won't go anywhere else." Instead there to busy trying to sell me wiper blades an over charge me .... the guy before me was also complaining about the price he had to pay. Nightmare of a place. Conveniently took our family vehicle in to this northside location of grease monkey. They are really trying to make a buck because they had charged us for things we didn't even ask to have done. When we refused to pay they said they were going to take legal action and make us pay. Why should we pay for something we didn't ask to have done to our vehicle, it's absurd and makes no sense at all. We will never return! read more
