I've passed by this place so many times, never knowing that this year would be my first time actually stopping in. I normally go to Jiffy Lube (when they want to act right) to get my emissions test done. If you live in Georgia, you know the whole song and dance we have to go through every year just to get our tags. I called two Jiffy Lube locations -- one told me their machine wasn't working (hard eye roll, because that always seems to be the case), and the other told me no one was there to do it (another eye roll). I was on a mission to be on time with my registration this year. I wasn't about to pay another late fee this year like I have in previous years (don't judge me! ). So I kept calling around and came across this place. I saw the ratings were good and that they actually had someone there, so I drove right over. I was a little taken aback at first because I'm used to getting out of my car and waiting inside while they do the test. Nope -- not here. You stay in your car, which honestly isn't bad at all. The gentleman who helped me (I wish I remembered his name) was great. He was polite and kind. It was raining and a little chilly that morning, but that didn't stop him. He got everything done quickly, and I made sure to blow my horn once he was inside because there's a sign that says to honk if you received great service lol. So make sure ya'll honk! I'd definitely consider coming here again. I even brought my laptop thinking I'd be waiting forever, but I was in and out and back home in time for my meeting. I highly recommend this location. My son went in for a basic oil change- his first on his own- and they completely took advantage of him. $105 oil change and added a $140 antifreeze exchange that he didn't ask for (and didn't have explained to him in any way- can't say for sure that this work was done because he was sure they just did a basic oil change). $250 lter, my son learned a hard lesson about how it's not impolite to question a bill that seems too large. Take 5 Oil Change @ 2543 Spring Rd SE, Smyrna, GA 30080 ABSOLUTELY APPALLED AT TECHNICIAN INCOMPETENCE (JOSE) AT MY EXPENSE! Please do not let them up-sale you!!!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY FOR MORE THAN AN OIL CHANGE!!! They are not equipped for repairs if something goes wrong and will not cover the damages! I took my truck to get an oil change here a few weeks ago and proceeded to be upsold by a very adamant technician to do a coolant flush. I obliged, trusting the tech knew what he was doing. After an hour, I realized the flush was taking longer than normal but there was no communication on what was taking so long and so I left a little uneasy on if the job was done right but had no time to confirm since I was on my way in to work. About a week later, on a Sunday, I walk to my truck before work and noticed ALL of the coolant has leaked out of my truck onto the ground forming a large puddle. (Keep in mind I've never had coolant leaks or overheating issues with my truck.) I immediately rush it back to the Take 5 location on Spring Rd as my truck is overheating and smoking at this point. They try to assess were the leak is coming from to no avail. They said I have to take it their partner repair shop to determine who's at fault. After 2 days, I'm finally able to get it to the shop and they determine the leak is coming from the timing cover gasket that burst. They tell me b/c there was a small preexisting leak (not sure how they were able to determine this and even if there was one, why didn't the tech inform me or inspect the vehicle before doing the flush??) Why was this not noted, disclosed, or documented by your technician before performing a pressurized coolant flush? Any competent technician would inspect for leaks before carrying out a flush. Failure to do so is negligence and directly led to further damage. I paid almost $700 out of pocket not inlcuding the flush job!!! I've called this location multiple times and spoke to a manager who says he is investigating the matter but have received no call back or communication regarding the outcome. They refuse to take any accountability. This is a nightmare! STAY AWAY! read more

I've been going to Take 5 for a little while now but had not been to this location before. Customer service was great as always so if you're looking for a regular spot I'd definitely recommend. A few things to consider with this location if you ever plan to come: There is a car wash right next to it so after 6pm the entrance from Woodland Terrace will have cones blocking customers from driving in that way. They belong to the car wash. Enter in from Bell St. across from the Jamaican restaurant (next street over). You'll drive around the car wash, follow the signs and veer to the left to get to Take 5. Meghan helped me and also did a great job explaining all my fluids that were refilled and where they were when I came. read more

I used to really like going there, the first few times, even though someone's lack of replacing my radiator cap properly caused about $500 in repair work. They did say they were sorry, if it were one of their service people (it was), but weren't going to take responsibility for it. I can understand that, since it would be impossible for me to prove, other than that they were the last people to remove and replace the cap. But when I returned the following year, was already in the bay, and discovered their prices had been jacked up by nearly 100%, I was shocked. Even with my $10 off coupon, it was nearly $100 for a synthetic blend change! This is twice what ever cost me in the past, and since they never post their prices on-site, or online, there was no way to know what to expect, ahead of time. Needless to say, while it's convenient, it's not worth paying that much more than most every other place around, just to change my oil. If they were going to raise prices that much, it would've been nice for them to let their regular customers know about it. read more

J'ermine was the first in the two months I have been coming here to offer me a water! He actually greeted me and offered to help me! Scrub hub Smyrna is the new name of the car wash that's associated with this oil change. I am only reviewing the car wash since I have not had service done by the oil change section. I alerted Carl who was picking up the dirty rags that they just need to shake out the rags and get the dirt out before they put them in the wash and possibly wash them twice or three times if necessary. I don't think anyone would want to wipe their car with these dirty rags! The overall car wash is great! I have three monthly memberships! But I have to sort through all the rags before I find one clean enough to wipe off the excess water! I hope they do better in cleaning their rags because this rating would be much higher if they did. In addition to Doing a better job in hiring because some of their service professionals Just smoke on the side with her mask off talking to each other! Often when I drive up only one person comes over to help me! But there some people like Charles who just started there, they call him "too tall " Who honestly seems like he wants to be there! Others I've seen just want to get paid! I know this is harsh but in today's worldI feel if you don't want to be there to get a different job! Charles and Jermaine have given me one of the best service since I've been there, which had been a couple months now. What they are missing is on site managers. Every time I ask for one they are never available or they don't have one for that day! First time coming here and was optimistic of the service. I ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to get into the oil change bay. Oil change took about 20 minutes once in the bay. Customer service was good once I got the oil change. Cost was on the higher end. It might have just been a busy day. I'll have to try it them out again and hope for a better experience. read more

Jose did not change my oil due to "if it were my car I would not change it" because the levels were good. I advised him my maintenance signal was on and that means it's time. He dismissed it and say he would not want to perform it and it did not need it. YET he radioed in on my coolant flush which he asked the guy performing the flush, if all OEM vehicles coolant were pink. It appeared the guy told him it was not dirty. I knew my coolant was pink yet how did he not know that. I had already paid for it after pondering that it could have triggered my maintenance signal. Not only did they raise their prices by at least 25% but they tried to sell me every extra thing they have, which I kindly declined, but I came to find out half way into my trip that they did not top off the fluids that came standard with the oil change, but my battery was loosened right in front of me, behind the hood, while I trustfully waited. I decided to take a road trip at the last minute but my car was due for an oil change. The dealership was not able to get me schedule in time so I had no other choice but to find an alternate location to get the service. I recall coming to this location years ago and I am pretty sure it was a different company at that time. The new set up is actually two different businesses. The oil change center and then the car wash is under different management. When I pulled up I actually pulled into the car wash entrance by mistakes you need to bypass the wash entrance to get to the oil change entrance. I was immediately greeted and my information was obtained. They started servicing my car immediately. I was shown a price list for oil change options. It was recommended that I get an oil change that cost $89!!! I Laughed at this price. I get my oil changed religiously at the Acura dealership for $50! After advising the staff of this, allegedly they gave me the $62 oil change for $50. If you can't tell, I am very leery of places like this. I just don't trust that they always do the right thing. However, I must admit that to my surprise they did NOT try and sell me an air filter! The staff even showed it to me and said I can wait until my next oil change to purchase one. Overall, the service provided by Chris was impressive. Not only did he not upsell me on items I don't need, he also told me everything he was doing such as which fluids were topped off and which ones were already at an acceptable level. He also let me know that the fluids were warrantied for 3k miles. As such, I can come in and they will top them off with no questions asked. Another thing that I appreciated is that the service was provided while I remained in my car! I've use this place for oil changes probably about eight times. Seem to be a pretty good operation up till the last couple visits. Once you can finally get in, they generally do pretty good work. The problem continuously seems to be how they queue up cars. It's a tight fit just to get into the place, and they never seem to manage the flow, first in first out! Again today, three cars that arrived after me. Got to the stalls ahead of me. Got tired of waiting and just backed up and drove off. Today, my car was feeling slugish, she didn't have her usual pep, I knew she needed an oil change because we were way past due. I went to a new place called Take 5 (it's connected to Scrub Hub) you pull up and sit in your car while you get an oil change. Take 5 is located on Spring Road, it's best to enter from the street on the side, Afton Downs. You'll follow the arrows around the car wash, there were 2 Scrub Hub attendants outside and they waved me through. I pulled up at 10:06am, to the oil change entrance and Mario the Assistant Manager came up to my car. I told him, I wanted an oil change and he asked me to pop my lid. He looked under the lid and my engine cover was off. He gave it to me and then told me the 3 prices they offered, $49.00, $69.99 and $79.00. I told him which one I wanted and moved forward. At 10:08, I was told by Jennifer, they would be right with me. At 10:10, someone new came over, Bobby, he looked under the hood and started filling my fluids, then he started my oil change, Mario came back, asked about my wipers and if I had any concerns or questions, at this time I paid, Mario brought over the card reader and he looked away while I put my pin. When done, Mario asked me to turn on my car, Jennifer was under the car, doing a saftey inspection to make sure there were no leaks. He also, showed me my oil stick and asked me to verify it was at level. He gave me my oil change mileage sticker, then asked if I wanted them to clean my windshield. I asked him how to turn the change oil light off and he instructed me how to do it. By 10:30, I was being directed out of the bay by Mario. I really liked not having to get out of the car. Everyone who approached my car said Hi to me and were vey nice. They were all wearing face coverings, but I could hear it in their voices. If you're heading here, look it up online and know what package you want in advance. Note: Mario did not replace my engine cover because it was around eletrical equipment and if somethng happened they would not be able to repair it, so it was for safety reasons.
