I was given attitude when i complained about the scenario and not ONCE did they offer some type of reimbursement or coupon to ease my frustrations. When i contacted customer service about the issue they offered me a 10% discount to be used at the next point of service which i could've got off Google my dang self. If you have the option to take your car somewhere else please do. This location does not prioritize customer service or communication. When I first entered to come drop my car off for a diagnostic on Friday, I waited at the front counter for over 10 minutes until someone came to help me. He took my keys and I had to ask if I was leaving my car and how long it would take, which he could not tell me. No one followed up with me before the end of that day, no one followed up on Saturday and when I called again on Sunday, the guy who answered the phone was very vague and dismissive. He said they drove my car on Friday and someone else on Saturday and couldn't duplicate the excessive noise. I asked what my next steps should be and he said take it to the dealership. There was an awkward silence and I asked, is my car ready to be picked up and then he confirmed. When I got to the store a gentleman helped me and another customer at the counter but told us we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come back from getting tires to be able to get my car. After about 20 minutes I collected my car and of course as I drove it home on a flat road, it sounds like it's climbing a hill. I understand diagnostics can come back inconclusive but the team who I directly dealt with showed me in several ways that my car did not receive the attention it should have as they prioritized everything else over a diagnostic. My daughter went to this shop and bought 2 new tires and had a front end alignment done. In the process they broke off a stud on one of the rear wheels. They didnt offer to replace it and was told "Its not a safety issue, you have 4 more." That is a load of crap. They broke it, they should replace it. Dont appreciate businesses that take advantage. Needed a diagnostic for my car because my engine light was going on and off. My car was dropped off on Friday, called Saturday to see what was that status of my car and what needed to be fixed, got nothing. Every time I called I was put on hold for 20mins+ with no assistance. So, we stopped in here after I discovered that I had a low tire (found a screw in it actually). Ran in to see if they had time/availability to help me out. The guy working the counter was really friendly and said that they had a full schedule, but he would find a way to fit me in and get me taken care of. This would have worked great if we didn't have someplace to be by 5:30 and I would need to be able to have my keys prior to then (long story). I asked if I could get air in the tire so I could explore other options, which he didn't mind at all. Really, all in all, I'd say that they have amazing customer service and were overwhelmingly friendly - even at the prospect of having to stay late to do something as small as repair a nail/screw hole in a tire. Really appreciate the customer service that they offered. I'm probably not going to be in this area very often combined with needing tire service/support. But, if you live in the area and are looking for a place that takes care of their customers - this is the place to go! read more

This is my second time coming to this location and had a very similar situation, but this time worse. I set an oil change appointment for 2 pm, I arrive at 1:45 pm. I check in and am told that they triple booked this appointment and they only have 2 mechanics today. They say it would be bit of a wait. I was surprised but willing to wait, I go sit outside after handing over my keys. 2 hours later I check in with the mechanics and apparently the guy doing oil changes went to lunch and there was still one more car in front of me. So it would be another hour and half until my car "may"be done. He said I had the option of staying or coming back another day. I had to get to work so I left and will not be coming back to this location. What is the point of having an appointment if they are just going to double or triple book it so you have to wait a long time? I wasted 2 hours of my day and left without my oil change. read more

I made an appointment online for 11:00am, I get to the building & inform the cashier I have an 11:00 am appointment, he tells me there's a 5-6 hour wait time. I said there's a wait time for an appointment? He says yes, we service customers who walk in first, so I asked why couldn't they notify me by phone or email about the wait time. I scheduled an appointment for an AC diagnosis at 12:00pm. When I arrived at my scheduled time I was told that they tried to call me "They are extremely backed up and probably will not be able to get to me today". I got home to check my phone only to see that they called me 8 minutes before my scheduled time. I get that you are backed up because you only have 2 technicians but I find it to be inconsiderate to call someone just 8 minutes before an appointment. Dod you not know this 30 minutes maybe even an hour before I drove all the way there in the pouring rain just to waste my time. While passing through Atlanta on my way to Florida from Tennessee, I had a heater intake hose to crack and release coolant in my Lincoln Navigator. It was a Sunday morning which meant most shops would either be closed or be short on staff. I stopped to ask for help at this Pep Boys on Cobb in Smyrna and met the manager, Malik at the counter. He was extremely friendly and definitely went out of his way to help me in the this, what could have been a very frustrating situation. We were able to locate a hose to purchase and after receiving it, they replaced it very quickly. I am very appreciative of Pep Boys and their staff at this location. They certainly helped a stranded traveler in time of need. I highly recommend this shop as they are first class, knowledgeable and obliging to help. read more

The WORST company you can ever hope to deal with. I had tires shipped to them to install on a Mercedes ML63. They called me claiming that they had never seen a lug nut like that on any Mercedes vehicles with a star shape, and one of the wheels had a lock on it. I explained that many times the tires were changed with no issues and this is the first time I'd heard this. I walked my vehicle, no lock on the wheels. Took it to Mercedes the next day to fit the tires and two Mercedes reps told me these are standard on almost every single Mercedes. they should have been easily able to change tires, and there are NO locks on the tires. When confronting them on the phone they were adamant and non-apologetic instead of realising their utter incompetence. Absolutely shocking company. Avoid! read more

DO NOT VISIT THIS LOCATION!!! This Pep Boys is poorly managed, and very unorganized. Eric, the manager, lacks leadership skills and has no control over the schedule. I called the day before to have work done on my vehicle, and was told to drop it off at 7 AM in the morning and the work will be completed that day. I dropped off the vehicle and called around 2 PM and what do you know? No work was done on my truck. I ended up picking up my vehicle because they didn't have time to work on it. Why would you add me to a schedule if you know your day is full? It's an inconvenience to customers. It's a waste of my time!!! It's misleading and prevents me from taking my vehicle somewhere that can actually repair it. This location is not reliable. read more

had my car dropped off almost 5 days ago. a hazard in the road caused me to have a damaged oil pan and flat tires. I had to call every day for them to update me on my own vehicle. THEN When I called, they told me they were waiting on a call back from the dealer to get prices on parts..... but the vehicle was never pulled in, so what exactly were they pricing? this place ain't managed properly and needs to be closed. 1 Star is too much in my opinion. read more

Made a mistake of breaking my license plate screw and called multiple places to see if they could remove it. All of them basically said no until I called Pep Boys, they were ready to do the job. I went to Pep Boys because I need service. It was early in the morning. I arrived as the first employee walked in. I walked in and he was in the garage part. I could see him through the door. I waited patiently for awhile but he was very busy at a computer so I knock loudly on the door to NO response. I waited yet longer so I knocked again loudly on the door. *update* I've been to this location twice in the past year for simple oil changes. My first experience was pretty bad. My oil change took about a standard hour. However, when turning on my car to drive off I noticed that my check engine light had turned on. Strange? I returned to the store because I knew something wasn't right and I had a long drive home. I asked them to take a look again- not sure what the issue was exactly. The manager stated the stick wasn't inserted correctly -how could that have caused my car to start shaking and my engine light to turn on? Anyways they fixed it- light turned off seemed okay. Then i heard Something ring. Turns out the manager left his cell phone under my hood!!!! Luckily I hadn't went far. Returned and was upset at this point. The manager gave me a coupon to return for a free oil change. Came back in March to get the free oil change. They were trying to give me the cheapest oil change- unacceptable- i didn't purchase the cheapest one the first time I came here. One week after, my check engine light came in again. Although, I cant prove that it was directly correlated to this location it seemed fishy to me. Now 4 months later I'm having to change my oil yet again. I've only always had to change my oil once every 6 months! Recycled oil maybe? Now I just got my oil change at a different location the mechanic stated that whoever did my oil changed previously stripped the drain plugs and I will need to purchase new ones! When I got there, on time for my SCHEDULED APPT, I was informed that online appts basically don't count and they would "try" to do my car, but it probably wouldn't happen, since 4 cars were ahead of mine, and they were closing in an hour. Despite not having an appt, I drove to another store, further down the street. Since it was simple (a tire patch and install), they squeezed me in and 45 minutes later, I was on my way. If I was to give zero stars to an establishment . I knew of my mistake even before I pulled up at this establishment but my thought was they really couldn't be that bad. I brought my BMW 750i for an oil change. (I should have just waited for my appointment at BMW). Long story short I did an oil change on Friday and I had to top up oil the next day. I came back complaining but the individual was very unconcerned and rude. He simply told me I should take it to BMW to be checked. So how can someone do an oil change only to start topping up the next day? Very terrible service & customer appreciation/concern. I am super annoyed and wouldn't recommend anybody to use this establishment. I have never seen such a level of unprofessionalism. Took my truck here to fix a simple flat tire. An hour after I picked my truck back up my tire was completely deflated. Turns out they didn't even patch or plug the tire. Just put air in it? They also put my spare tire in the bed of my truck under my bed cover, instead of putting it back under the truck. Fortunately I was not charged, so I took my vehicle elsewhere. I was having a problem with my battery and without me asking he offered to check under the hood. As soon as he did he saw it was a quick fix and I was out in less than a minute! I have had to take my car in twice in the past 3 weeks due to nails deflating my tires. Johnny was honest and upfront about wait time and always called to follow up on service. As well as calling to quote and give me an update on any further maintenance needed and let me know if it was a time sensitive thing or if it could "wait". I don't why I didn't read the reviews before I left my car with me pepboys. Let me start off by saying the general manager is rude. I got these at 8:00 am standing in front of the counter. Eric didn't say a word for like 3 minutes straight. they asked me to leave my car and keys which I never trust to leave my car with anyone I don't even know that well. It was a simple job to see if the brakes needed to be changed all the sudden they come with these outrageous prices talking about $700 for my back brakes and rotors and for the front $630 for my brakes and rotors never even ask for my rotors to be changed. I can only imagine you leaving your car that many hours how they actually really tamper with peoples engines ever since I left my car there and now my car is been making noises. I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 AM. I should have known it'd be a bad experience when it took them 15 minutes to acknowledge my presence as a customer. At 10:47, the told me they'll pull my car in within 30 minutes and theyd be done on 2 hours. It's 12:30 now and they have still not even taken my car on a 'test drive' or conducted the inspection. They keep telling me they are understaffed but they took two walk ins that are still currently being serviced. Not my issue - prioritize or re-schedule but don't say you value customers time and you really do care and pull BS like this. read more
