what a great experience I had this morning at Amoco. I had a flat tire and Andre was booked for a few days. This very nice gentleman who works there jumped in and took care of everything. He pumped up the flat tire and painstakingly made sure it had extra air without being over the pressure limit. then he checked all of the other tires. and, just like he said, it got us all the way to a tire place that could repair the slow leak. Total ripoff! Over charged my son who is college for an alternator, battery, and oil change 1500.00. Charged 1000 for alternator install which should be high 600.00. 200 for battery and 100 to just put it in. 170 for an oil change! Outrageous!! Don't go there! read more

I had two tires replaced by these mechanics in October and less than 6 months later both have had to be replaced. One clearly had a defect in it that led to it being popped and they said there was nothing they could do. Terrible customer service. read more

In summer of 2023, I had my F-150 towed to this establishment to replace a fuel module that had gone bad, per their recommendation once they inspected the truck. This establishment had my truck all day, overnight, and the following day. They (Mike, the owner of the business) called me to inform me that the truck was fixed, but they had "bad news." He informed me both of my catalytic converters had been cut out of (stolen) off of my truck. My truck was parked on their lot, under their supervision, when this occurred. The owner explained to me he could get it fixed and quoted me the price, to my surprise and astonishment. He assumed this was my cost to bear. Replacing two converters on my truck that got stolen off of his lot and I was supposed to pay for that? I did not agree to this and he stated "we will see what we can do." He then sent my truck to have the cheapest converters installed (the ones that were stolen off of my truck were factory and were "bolted on" as typical). He replaced them with a terrible weld job / repair (confirmed by another mechanic who ended up replacing them with the correct / original converters to the tune of ~$3400). The owner insisted I split the cost with him of the low quality welded repair, to which I disagreed earnestly. He did not budge and I needed my truck back to live life, so I paid him 50% of the replacement cost of my two converters.....to the tune of $700. The decision he made to install cheap aftermarket converters on my truck has had lasting effects. My truck recently failed emissions this past December when I went to renew my tag. The cause of failure was BOTH converters failed the test. As mentioned, it cost me $3400 to have the correct/original quality converters installed (back to the condition it was when it arrived on the lot of this establishment). Where are their cameras watching their lot to protect their customers' cars/assets? Where was their insurance company here? Certainly they have cameras that would show my converters being stolen off their lot. They claimed they "don't have cameras/surveillance." That should be advertised to customers when a customer entrusts their car to this business. No cameras on the lot, so you are out of luck if anything happens to your car, including if parts get stolen off of your car/truck. This has taken my time, money, and has caused hours of frustration. I have given this business plenty of time and opportunities to make this right and they have done nothing. I am $4100 OUT OF POCKET to get my truck back to its state when I entrusted this business with my truck, not to mention the time and frustration this has caused me. Horrible customer service and pathetic dishonest unethical business decision in how they mishandled this situation. I will never be returning here and I would suggest same for others. read more

Lee T. reminded me I need to review this awesome gas station (not three words you usually say, right?!). Not only because I was one of those private school kids who made said-banners that she saw today (yeah, it was 1994 but we shocked everyone that year too :) ) but most importantly, because Full Service Gas Station seriously means just that. Over the years, my family has relied on them for many things, and most recently (a few months ago) they came to the rescue again. I have to park on the street, so who knows where I picked up a nail that gave me a flat, but between midnight when I got home from a dinner shift and the next morning around 10, my tire was capital-F Flat. And my parents were out of town and I needed help pronto. Enter the PF Exxon guy who came over to change out my tire (no, I don't know how to do it myself), take it to the station and repair it, and have it ready before I had to go to work again that night. For around $50. Sweet. These are definitely the folks to call if you live in this area and find yourself in a car-related pickle! read more

Me and my roommate noticed her tire was very low on the way to run errands. We stopped by here at the recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint. A kind man saw us struggling to use the air pump and came out to pump up her tire for free!! We will definitely be back for services in the future! read more

This particular Exxon has been a part of my life for a long time, y'all. And when I cruised below the under-pass not long ago, I was pleased. Greatly pleased in fact. It appeared that some hooligans in the class of 2012 of private school junction decided to paint a lovely banner and hang it across the over-head pass. It read: "2012 is going to 'Shock' you". We've got some budding artists on our hands with that special illustration... Back to Exxon. This particular location has quite the legacy, and is one of the few to still offer full-service gas pumping. I, personally, never use this service, because I don't want to end up like my mother at 40 and not knowing how to pump gas. That's embarrassing. I'll tell you right now... I learned how to pump my gas solely from the chant, "That's all-right, that's o-kay." (you're gonna....) As far as the prices go, they're right around the highest out of those you will find in the Buckhead/Vinings area. This station is completely awesome at running a tight ship. The customer service is great, and so very convenient. It comes with a price, though! A tail-light change cost me up to $45. At the time, I wish I had gone to Auto Zone and changed the bulb myself, but they were just giving me the RIGHT bulb for my obnoxious foreign car. I appreciate that! It was nice to be taken care of in a very efficient way, with a waiting area and all. read more

I have been using these guys for years, and it's been similar to burning your hand on a stove over and over again. The service department isn't great. On two occasions I've had to take my car to another shop after having the problem supposedly fixed. Most recently they installed different tires on my car without telling me. As I don't have a spare, I have to have run flat tires, which cost a bit more, and they have, but they inexplicably replaced a recent flat with a regular tire. These are guys who know - or should know - my car. But the proverbial straw was this week. My tire pressure light went off - they checked the tires, added some air and said I was good to go. Woke up a few mornings ago to a flat - the tire was one I specifically asked them to check. Breaks my heart, but after too many years to even state, I'll be going to the Shell across the way. read more

My front driver-side tire was leaking badly. I went to Kauffman tire on Cheshire Bridge and the guy told me it was not fixable and I needed two new tires that would run me $400 total. Luckily, I didn't have time to get them at the time. My boyfriend looked at my tire and found a nail stuck in it! Took it to Paces Ferry Exxon and got it plugged up for $20! Andre was awesome and very nice. I was in and out in twenty minutes. Great experience, would highly recommend! read more

Update: My boyfriend and I tried to negotiate the price of the service as I was charged such an exorbitant rate and they were not helpful. They said that I must have heard them wrong and that I specifically asked for things that I did not in fact ask for. They gave me $60 back but $136 for an oil change on a non-luxury car is still unacceptable. read more

WOW! Talk about a hidden gem of a place. These guys are one of the best kept secrets in the Atlanta area. I had a LOT of work that needed to be done on my car, so my boss recommended them to me seeing as how they were right down the street. It's one of those places that ONLY looks like a gas station, but it's actually a full service shop too! Andre, who's one of the main guys, is one of the nicest and most honest people I've ever dealt with regarding cars. I needed a new windshield on my Pontiac, so I asked him to order it. Now, at most other places..they would make you wait a few days. These guys got it in an HOUR...a WINDSHIELD..in an HOUR. Please find me another shop that will put that kind of effort into service. Gas there is a little pricey, but that's really the only downside. I can't recommend this place enough. Ask for Andre!! read more

It figures, someone would just post 'overpriced". They cater to folks who do not do it themselves, but rather want the job done with care, respect, accuracy, and are willing to stand behind the work! Mike and Andre here do a great job. Been getting our cars serviced here for years. Always solid work. Trustworthy. A little pricey? Yes. But I think you get what you pay for. They will match Costco on tire prices so that helps. Gas is very expensive though. Like 40-50 cents higher than other places. read more

Had to get an emergency brake job done same day. Great service and convenient hours. Prices were on-par with just about anywhere. The people are all really friendly and eager to help. Much like the norm you would have expected 20-30 years ago that sadly is not the norm most places today. I'd recommend them and will be a future customer of theirs as well. read more

I use these guys all the time. I have a older Dodge, new Mercedes and new Land Rover. They seem to know how to fix any of the issues I've had with any of my cars. They done everything including new tires, new brakes (and some free follow up work), belts, oil changes, transmission work, etc. I never feeel like I'm getting ripped off and the work is ALWAYS done when they say it will be done. Mike is the main guy and that is who I always deal with. They are also oopen on weekends which is very helpful and they will give you a ride home if you drop your car off. read more

I initially started to use this station in the summer of 2011 when I moved to the Vinings area. At first I was pleasantly surprised with the service. I drive an older car that is is constant need of minor repairs. During one of my first encounters, I actually had Mike tell me that I didn't need a particular service at that time (which, if you're familiar with car repair places, just doesn't happen all that often). For the next few years everything went swell. They provided me with convenience and competent service at a price that, while not the lowest in the market, was not exorbitant. But all that changed beginning in February 2013. At that time my car's alternator decided it was time to retire, which led to a short tow to Paces Ferry Exxon. The Exxon crew replaced my alternator and I was on my way. In early summer 2014 my car engine started smoking. Mike assured me that the problem was caused by a cracked coolant reservoir, which was leaking coolant onto the engine block. I was skeptical, but ultimately demurred to his advice. Some $600 dollars later, the problem continued, and I ultimately had to take my car somewhere else to have the gaskets replaced. But all in all, no major harm, as the car had been leaking fluids onto my garage floor. Fast forward to a month ago. Out of the blue my car's alternator started acting like it was going bad (warning light, dimming dashboard lights and headlights while driving). Fearing a repeat of my previous experience, I decided to take preemptive action and took my car back to Exxon. I had a pretty strong suspicion that the alternator was bad, and although I'm by no means a "car guy," I know an alternator should last longer than 32 months and 30,000 miles. Sure enough, Mike told me the alternator needed to be replaced. I noted that his shop had replaced the alternator just 32 months prior, hoping that he might throw me a bone to make up for the fact that his shop obviously had sold me a defective part. Although he quickly admitted that there was nothing I could have done to affect the performance of the alternator, he in as many words told me "tough luck." I especially appreciated being told, "Maybe 1 out of 100 times we get a bad alternator." Typically businesses bear the burden of such bad luck in an effort to encourage repeat patronage, but that obviously is not the case at Paces Ferry Exxon. Needless to say, I won't be frequenting Paces Ferry Exxon again. read more
