I had a few minutes to spare in between my appointments today and was needing to get my oil changed. I pulled up, told the tech and I pulled in behind one other vehicle. Once that vehicle left, I pulled in and waited and waited and waited. Apparently there was only one tech on staff, and that tech didn't think it was important to tell me he was the only one there and it would take longer than normal. After waiting 10 minutes, I got out put my hood down and told the guy I would just come back later. His response was we close at five. This after a 20 minute wait. Take five used to be my go to for oil, changes, inspections, etc. but no more this same situation happened two weeks earlier at the lemmon ave location , so I guess take five oil change sucks now. I'll just take my business elsewhere as one does. It's too bad though you guys used to be great read more

The workers were very nice and knowledgeable. They were very hardworking while I was there and informed me of their process. I had a terrible experience at this oil change shop. After an upsell on unnecessary services, my car started leaking oil on the highway. I found the engine cover detached and a glove inside the engine compartment. I had to get my car towed back, and the manager refused to reimburse me, directing me to someone named Kron, who hung up on me when I called. This has been incredibly frustrating, and I'm considering legal action. I do not recommend this shop at all! read more

My wife went to get oil change and after looking at the receipt I am concerned receipt states 3.75 qts. the car is a 6 qt capacity but receipt says 3.75 at $75 dollars so basically 20 dollars a quart based on that $51 shop fee no mention of filter and constant attempt at upselling services the car being brand new did not need. also no crediting of Military discount. Came in for an oil change after work, I was the 4th car in line so around 20 minutes waiting which was way quicker than what I was expecting! Q did my oil change and showed me the air filter which was really bad and swapped it all in about 15 minutes once I was in the bay. Highly recommend seeing the guys here! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! Recently, I had my oil change performed at this facility. (Sunday, 12/17/23) There was a pricing and customer service issue at the beginning, but that is another story. Unfortunately, I discovered a couple of hours later that I had a leak, which I did not have before taking it to this place. I have also taken and attached images of where I park my car every day. If you all take a look, you will see that there are no previous leaks. I returned and was denied service because they claimed there was no leak. I took the car to have a second opinion and discovered the drain plug was stripped. Now, how did that happen?? So I took the findings back to this place, and the manager refused to hear or look at the images I wanted to show him. Then, he mentions that he is not trying to mess up his bonus by filing a claim. And "You're not going to put that on me because we tested your car, and there was no leak." This is a matter of concern. Makes me feel like he did not want to do the repairs so he could get his "bonus." I may have no choice but to escalate this matter legally if I don't hear anything back from upper management. My car is not that cheap, and this type of repair is going to hit my pockets, if I have to pay for their incompatibility, I will definitely take legal action. Secondly, when I called to get the pricing over the phone, I was given a quote and a coupon via email for one price, but once I arrived at the facility, that too, was an issue. I am shocked that people can be that mean, knowing they are the cause of a problem that could easily be fixed. These guys are amazing! They are open until 7:00 PM most nights. I showed up about 20 minutes before they closed. They had two cars in the stalls already, but I still managed to get the oil change service I needed. The trick to this place, "do not get out of your car". You waste so much time getting in and out of the car. They want you to stay put. They do everything with you in the car, and they do it quickly and efficiently. When I drove up, one man ran out to meet me. He asked me what service I needed and directed me to line up behind a specific stall. Moments later I was being directed to drive forward into the garage and above the standing pit where the technicians can access the undercarriage of the vehicle. Two gentlemen quickly went to work. I was asked the type of oil I would like. Less than 10 minutes later, I was shown my air filter and told that it WASN'T needing to be changed. (How often does that happen? Usually, other companies are trying to upsell you on everything whether you need it or not.). I was given a verbal recount on the status of my fluids and battery and then checked out by credit card all while sitting behind the driver's wheel. Note: You can visit their website while you wait and have a coupon emailed or texted to you. While checking out, be sure to mention the coupon. They will scan it on your phone and apply the discount. I saved $5. There are other coupons for a variety of services and each location has ones that they offer. Always check the website before you go. Bonus Round: A yellow "Maint Reqd" light showed up on my dash a few weeks ago before I got the oil changed. These guys noticed that the light had been triggered while they were doing their job. After the oil change, one man had me turn the ignition key two clicks to accessory mode and tap the right button on the dash to get to Trip A. Then he had me turn the car off and press and hold the right button while turning the car back on. The display reset after a few seconds. Yay! My husband used to be an auto mechanic. Unfortunately, he refuses to do maintenance on my car, but on the positive side, he always steers me towards reputable mechanics for service and makes sure I don't pay for parts or labor I really don't need. Take 5 Oil Change was one of his recommendations. They have locations all over DFW, and I plan on always using them for oil changes and state vehicle inspections. read more

Twice I have gone to this location for an Inspection Unfortunately both times I was told at 4:13pm the man who does the state inspections had gone home for the day. Come on tell the truth! I usually go to the one on Lemmon but stopped by this one instead since I was nearby. I wanted an oil change and a state inspection. I've always liked take 5 and paid more for their quick service but this wasn't the case this time. After waiting awhile to get this done which was about 40-45 minutes total, I came home and couldn't renew my registration online and realized they never gave me an inspection report and something must have gone wrong. I came back to ask for the report and again had to wait for about 30 minutes before I could get any help. The guy in the picture here printed out my inspection report from a year ago, so apparently they never recorded the most recent inspection. So I had to wait to get it done again. Extremely annoyed, I won't be coming back to this location. read more

Today I came in for a state inspection. They asked me to drive my car up to the bay very soon after arriving(not even a minute) as soon as I brought my car up to the bay they started to perform the state inspection while handing me a bottle of water. One associate performed the state inspection while the other made sure all my information was correct and charged me for the inspection which was $25.10. I can say I was completely satisfied with the service today. It was quick(in total no more than 15 minutes) their machine was working unlike the Take 5 in Greenville & Forest lane, and they were very attentive to the customer service. The only thing you should be informed is their card machine to pay wasn't working so they were only taking cash at the moment but they getting that fixed at the moment. I highly recommend going over to Take 5 Oil on Forest and Central for any of your car needs. read more

Unprofessional and a waste of time. Poor quality of work. Did not put the skid plate back appropriatly on my NEW 2020 vehicle so it was dragging around. When I called to tell the manager he just said, "ok."... I went and drove 45 min during my break to go get it fixed and they didn't even have the parts. What kind of managing is this? Not to mention they made me feel like I was an inconvenience to them. Take 5 took 5 days and still did nothing after they messed up my car. I spoke to the district manager and he called me and said, "so what are you gonna do?" When he was the one that needed to meet me to get the inspection done... Excuse me?.... What are YOU gonna do... They were OK. The people are friendly, but I'm not sure how knowledgeable they are. My car afterwords will no longer pick up the oil level on the sensor, they assured me that this would be fine after driving for a few miles, but it's not working several days later. They also told me that the only way to reset the service light was to take it to the dealer because there is a special key. This was not true, I did a 30s search on YouTube and figured out the sequence of buttons to reset it. Not sure I would use again, feel like I was being misled read more

Absolutely love this location. Always super fast and everyone is helpful and polite. Jose in particular is amazing. Best service I could ask for every time. He needs a huge raise and a promotion. I took my 93 Ford Ranger for state inspection. Jose wouldn't pass my truck for things that it's always passed for including tint that I specifically made sure was legal when I had it put on in 2019. Also there's a crack in the windshield which hasn't changed and has always passed in prior years that he says affects drivers visibility. It doesn't. Unless you have a vehicle in perfect condition do not take it here as Jose Sanchez will nitpick it apart. read more

I love finding places that make me want to jump on Yelp at my quickest convenient opportunity to post a review on their behalf...and Take 5 certainly had that kind of impact on me this past weekend!! Although I initially thought I'd prefer to get my car serviced at the dealer, this place showed me a far better alternative. I stumbled across their location while searching for a shop open at 830 AM on a Sunday morning. I was just returning from a trip out of town and I was badly in a need of an oil change. I had been putting it off far too long and I was determined to take my vehicle somewhere as soon as I touched back down in Dallas. This Take 5 location happened to be open, advertised with fast service, and just a few minutes from my home...so I decided to take the chance. I'm so very happy I did and you should too!! From the moment I arrived, the team was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They greeted me with a big smile, offered me a bottle of water, and gave me an idea of how long it would be before I would be helped (there are two bays and two vehicles were already in there). The estimate I was given was accurate and I was in and out of their location in less than 30 minutes, the oil change itself only took about 8 minutes! I loved being able to stay in my warm car, jamming to my music, and talking to friends on the phone while I was being helped. Everyone working there that helped me (Richard, Richie, and Jarrett) was upbeat, knowledgeable, and pleasant. They provided me with valuable information on upcoming service needs for my vehicle (based on mileage), informed me of the services Take 5 can provide during future visits, explained the various oil change options, and answered any other questions I had. Richie (the assistant manager at this location) informed me that Take 5 will be expanding heavily pretty soon in the metroplex, so I highly encourage you to visit them if a location pops up that's convenient for you...their also worth a little inconvenience if you want fast and phenomenal service for your oil changes!! There's another Take 5 location a little closer to my home, but I will be using this location regularly moving forward solely based on the high level of exceptional customer service I received coming there. When I first pulled up about 30 minutes after they opened to get my state inspection I was told that their state inspector does not come in until 10am. (Make sure you call ahead to know what time he gets in the day that you want an inspection done). I came back at 10:30 and was helped almost immediately. The manager and assistant manager of this location were beyond nice and helpful. They did a great job explaining all of the steps of the inspection (which helped since I'm new-ish to TX).
