But I'd much rather have it be a day late and done thoroughly than pick it up early with a crappy job... Northaven Auto takes their time with every fix they've ever done for me. Additionally, they don't upcharge or make unnecessary fixes without permission like some places do. Best part though? They take pride in their work and if something is wrong, they will always make it right. In over a decade of going exclusively to Northaven, they've never left me with a bad fix. I was leaving a nearby ice cream shop and noticed they had no wait, so I pulled in, impressed that I could get an oil change at 7:40 at night. There were a couple hurdles though, so I drove in to see if they could make the hurdles. The biggest hurdle is I have a warranty on my engine that requires me to use Mobil1 Oil, so I had to make sure they had it. Luckily they did! The second hurdle was could/would they take me that close to closing time. The staff here did not even act bothered by that, in fact the genuinely seems grateful I was there! They were so fast, I was blown away when they told me they were done, and had I not been sitting in my car watching them do it, I might have had a hard time believing they could do it that fast! I also learned during this visit they can help you with Windshield Wipers, Air Filters, and Coolant Exchanges, in addition to oil changes. This was my first time visiting a Take 5 Oil Change store, but after this experience I would not hesitate to come here again!

I was told by the technicians that this has happened before at this location, which was concerning to hear. Even more concerning, I was informed that they currently do not have a manager because the previous manager left for another location. When I asked what could be done about the broken dipstick, I was told to "maybe just super glue it back on." A broken dipstick is not a proper repair, and it leaves me unable to easily check my oil level without additional work and expense. While I understand that accidents happen, what matters is how a business handles them. In this case, there was no real solution offered, no accountability taken, and I was still charged full price for the service despite leaving with a damaged vehicle component. Since this happened, my truck is now in the shop and I am currently without a vehicle. I am having to spend upwards of $60 just to get to work, all out of my own pocket, while also trying to pay to fix damage that was caused during their service. The "manager" told me, "I'll put a claim in for you," but I still have not heard from anyone. The entire situation has been unprofessional and clearly careless. What is even more frustrating is that one of the technicians simply moved on to the next vehicle as if nothing had happened. Their slogan is "10-minute oil change," yet I was there for over an hour before they even started working on my truck. The lack of urgency, accountability, and customer service was unbelievable. I hope ownership or upper management addresses these issues, as customers should not have to pay for mistakes made during routine maintenance. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this location. I honestly would not trust them with my kids' toy truck if they were the only option left. Pathetic.

I reached out to All Star Auto Clinic after receiving a list of recommended repairs from the Mazda…read moredealership, one of which was going to cost almost $2k. They quickly responded to my inquiry and got me scheduled to come in. The team did their own diagnosis of the car and instead of just agreeing with Mazda, they said they didn't even believe the $2k repair was even necessary at that time. They found a couple additional small items that they recommended I fix, but were never pushy or trying to sell me on anything. From the time I reached out and throughout the process the team communicated well. They handled all the other recommended repairs same day for significantly less than the dealership wanted to charge. These guys are honest and well priced and I highly recommend them for any car work you need done.

As stated by others, they charged $189 for the diagnosis which they said was my alternator. I've been around cars and I knew that was not the issue, however they tried to tell me the electrical system could cause the symptoms. The estimate was $1006.54 just to replace the alternator with $230/hr for labor and a $500 alternator. I questioned the high price and they said they needed an experienced technician. I was in a bind so I had to have them do the job. After it was completed, they took it for another test drive and now they said they found the issue. It was an ignition coil failing and they need to replace it as well as the 4 spark plugs for another $875. Asked why this was not found during the first inspection, they told me sometimes things like this get missed or are sporadic, pretty much it was not their fault. Again, being in a bind, I had to have them do the work and I talked them down to $1765 for the entire job which is still a ridiculous amount. They did not budge even though they knew they were price gouging. To prove my point, I called another service garage and got an estimate for the exact same job: Alternator replacement: $784 vs $1006 and this included a new belt which was not replaced by CB Labor Cost: $165/hr labor vs $231/hr Ignition coil and 4 spark plugs: $410 vs. $875 Total out the door: $1194 vs a negotiated $1765,. savings of $571 I'm sure they do good work and if you are willing to pay the price, great but the way they tried to justify the repairs and their outrageous prices put a really bad taste in my mouth. If I wasn't in a bind, I would never have had them do the repairs and eaten the $189 which is also bad practice charging for an estimate.

When I left work a few hours later, I received a low oil level alert! The oil change was about $130. I was charged an "EXTRA OIL FEE" because my Q5 needed more than 5 quarts of oil. I guess they decided not to add that last quart! I'll go buy oil and add it before I go wait in that line again. I am never going back.

Unfortunately, the quality of the diagnostics did not match the level of customer service. I had to return twice for the exact same issue because the original diagnosis was incorrect. It was frustrating to spend additional time and money without the problem being properly identified the first time. Great customer service is important, but accurate diagnostics are just as critical when customers trust a shop with their vehicles. I hope the business invests in improving its technical knowledge and diagnostic process because the front-end customer service team is doing a great job. With better diagnostic accuracy, this shop could provide a much better overall experience.
