I was busy at work and my wife needed an oil change. I recommended a different quick lube location and she wound up at Take 5 in Covington. This place is TERRIBLE!!! Highly dishonest and price gouging! They force upsells on unsuspecting customers and price what they think the customer will pay. Please note, their website doesn't list prices!?!? The result was $99.99 for an oil change on a tiny crossover that takes 4.5-5 quarts?!?!? I drive a large pickup that requires 8+ synthetic and I have never paid more than $100 for that oil change. They also told her she was "overdue" on a cabin air filter replacement, so she did it. They charged $49.99 for the replacement which is 2 minutes of work and a $7-8 filter. I have always changed my own very easily, but she was taken advantage of! Not sure why their rating is so low. We just had our oil changed and they did a wonderful job. Blake assisted us and was amazing. Stay clear of this location! It took well over 1 hour for a basic oil change, they over filled the oil and my engine wouldn't start, they claimed my battery was bad! eventually Someone there told tec to check oil level, he drained some out and engine started but told me to check my oil level when I got home to be safe!!! They told me my radiator needed to be flushed with fluid changed but I told them it was a new radiator with new coolant less than a year ago!! Just trying to rip people off!! At 4pm on 10/22/25 Sawyer told me there was only 2 people working and I would have to wait an hour. How many people does it take to change oil? ONE!!! 1 car was ahead of me. I went back at 6:30pm, they close at 8, and Sawyer told me the system was down. Went on a Friday morning and waited 30 mins, asked the worker how much longer and he said probably 15 more minutes, so I had to leave. I've literally never seen humans move so slow before, they looked absolutely miserable. Then I went back on Monday morning at 7:20 am, no one was waiting. The employee told me he couldn't change my oil because he was the only one there and he had to wait for another employee before he could assist me. What an absolute joke. I came in for an oil change at 4:45 and didn't leave until 7:10. I was promised a discount but never received one on my final bill for the wait, and the total wasn't disclosed to me when cashing out--otherwise I would have spoken up then. On top of that, I was offered an air filter at a discounted price. The technician told me it was $40 and would give it to me for $20, but when I received my bill, the filter was listed as $50, not $40. After waiting two and a half hours, it would have been nice for the pricing to be honest and transparent. You tell me about the service. My daughter brought my SUV to this location accompanied with MY OWN OIL. She purchased a oil filter, cabin filter and they talked her into flushing out the cooling system. THE FINAL BILL WAS $247.00 If I were to purchase the oil filter at Auto zone it would have been $10, cabin filter $50 and 1 gallon of antifreeze $11. Went and got oil change about two weeks ago. Two weeks later and I notice oil leaking under my Jeep. Turns out, the oil plug was half way hanging on. Most of the oil was drained. Went in to address the issue, and the "manager" Barnell was no help at all. I feel I should have at least gotten a refund for the horrible job they did. I could have been stranded somewhere. I got there and there were three slots which were all busy. The middle slot had two cars waiting behind the car getting serviced. The far slot had no cars waiting so I pulled up there. Shortly afterwards, the car getting serviced finished. Instead of letting me in, they chose to back me up and force me to switch places with the second car in the middle lane. I don't think they know what they were doing, well the two who pit crew who worked on my car. The guy apparently does not know where the drain plug to the oil pan was. I have my window rolled down and I can hear him yelling out that there was no oil coming out. Then the girl working topside couldn't even raise the hood up. On top of that, they show me the oil dipstick after they poured in new oil and oil filter. I asked her why is the oil still dark brown? It should be light brown. Her response was sometimes it gets dirty. I'ved been changing oils longer than she's been in this earth and that was a bogus response lol. The crew manager overheard us and he decided to go down into the pit to inspect. SO APPARENTLY they never drained the oil!! Please be careful when using this company. I visited take 5 in Covington, LA on Hwy 21. It has been a headache ever since and also a learning lesson. My oil drip pan was stripped and had to be replaced. They placed the wrong size plug back into my oil drip pan to try to cover what had been done. This resulted in my vehicle leaking oil all over my driveway and my drip pain needing to be replaced. If this company tears anything up on your vehicle then you need to be sure that the mechanic takes before pictures so that Fleet Response will consider your claim. The manager of take 5 claimed to have a bunch of new plugs where they change your oil. He tried to tell me that my drain plug on my 4 door Jeep wrangler was in fact the same size as ford trucks, honda, and other vehicles makes. This was in fact false so save yourself the headache and be very cautious of the company.Do yourself a favor and go to the Take 5 claims company website which is Fleet Response and look at all the reviews read more

They ruined my wife's oil pan by stripping the drain plug. Leaked oil all over my garage too. We had to replace my wife's oil pan $800 out of our pockets and I couldn't get the jerks here to work with me to cover the replacement. Don't take your car here they will ruin it and not be willing to own up to their mistakes. They should not let be willing to let untrained employees work on customers cars unless they are will to take full responsibility for that employee. on 08/31/2023 I went to the 5 minute Oil Change in COVINGTO, La 70433 on Collins Blvd around 7:15pm, I went to have my tire checked and Oil Checked, I didn't know about their oil top off policy and according to my sticker my vehicle was good for another 2500 mile, to make a long story short, a Man by the name of Bret, started arguing and yelling at me, he told me to get out of his shop, I ask him to stop yelling at me, and his response was he makes a certain amount of money and he can do what ever he wants and that he doesn't need this job, I've been coming to this location for over 15 years this treatment is totally unacceptable, Is this the behavior that 5 minutes Oil Change Accepts from their employee, I'm never coming back. read more

Rainy Monday! On the worse day, my driver windshield wiper broke off the clip and was not working. I drove to the Take 5 and the crew was very helpful. They attempted to fix it first but the clip was over just broken. They sold me the new windshield wiper and installed it. They were very polite and even filled up my tires with air.
