After a less-than-stellar experience by one of the more local, yet highly visible oil change places in the area, I was none too keen to get my oil changed by them again. Lo and behold, there was a Valvoline nearby, which I had used years ago while living in another state. When I pulled in, there were large flags indicating discounts for LSU faculty and staff (woohoo - a win I wasn't expecting - about 20% off!) and the folks there directed me to pull around into one of the bays. I was there only one there around 9am on a Friday. Brad, Dontae, and Elliot were so friendly and fast at getting my oil changed - took maybe about 20 minutes when all was said and done (including changing out my engine air filter and resetting my dashboard inspection indicator, which is always a hassle - thanks VW for that!). He took off the plate that sits over the oil filter and told me that they didn't change the oil filter. When I told someone at Express about it, he all but called me a liar. The line can get long, but if you catch it at the right time, you'll have 1-2 cars in front of you max and wait maybe 10-15 minutes. If there are more than 4-5 cars in line, just come back later - it fluctuates! The actual inspection sticker process is quick and easy. You can pay cash or card and wait inside where there is a bathroom, or outside on the benches if it's a nice day - the attendant will come get you when the inspection is done (about 10 minutes). Easy and over! As for the car wash, I usually just go for the basic and use the complimentary self vacuum stations in the back. There is always a spot open, I've never had to wait for those! The vacuums are strong and can get out dog hair from your car, which is big for me. Definitely go to this Benny's if it's close!
