Talk about great service, WOW! We were visiting from Florida and our radiator developed a crack before we were leaving for home. It was Sunday and I called all of the shops that were open, but none would help us. I called Drusilla Car Care to check on their hours for Monday and was surprised that Malcolm answered the phone! He talked us through our problem and looked up the radiator we needed. He was at the shop with his mechanic Delous, so we were able to take the car in right away. Being Sunday, most shops would have said come back tomorrow. Malcolm's young daughter checked us in, which told us all we needed to know about this business. It is truly a family run business that cares. Malcolm and Delous priority was to get us safely back on the road. They explained the repair thoroughly. They also prioritized the repair and were able to replace the radiator on Monday and we were headed back home. I cannot thank them enough. I recommended them to my son and his friends at college as their go to place for car care. Delous is an excellent, knowledgeable mechanic and their prices are very reasonable. Today, on Labor Day, we were driving from Mandeville back to Houston. When we hit Baton Rouge, our malfunction indicator light starting flashing. We stopped and the car was idling rough, after failed attempts with other shops that were closed, Google led us to Malcom's shop. After explaining what was going on he immediately started to diagnose the issue and told us that since his mechanics were off for the holiday we could come first thing in the morning to get us on our way. He even told us what hotel we could stay at and that he would come pick us up and follow us to the shop until the morning! We turned our car back on to go to the hotel and we noticed the indicator light stopped flashing and the car was running well again. We called Malcom back and he advised us that it was okay to drive back to Houston, but if we ran into any issues to call him so he could continue to help us. He was so nice and made what could have been a stressful event, easy. The next time our cars breaks, I hope it's in Baton Rouge so we can call Malcom to fix it. Thank you, Malcom!! I can't say enough good things about these folks. My wife and I are from Florida. Recently, my wife went to Texas by herself. A few miles west of Baton Rouge her car broke down on I-10 on a Saturday. Even though it was late in the day on the weekend, Malcom answered the phone and made arrangements to have the car looked at. The car was overheating and we had a difficult time figuring out exactly why. Malcom gave us the option of flushing the cooling system and changing the thermostat, a less expensive choice that could have fixed it, or replacing the radiator, a more expensive choice, but one we were not entirely certain of. We tried flushing the radiator at first (our choice). Unfortunately, the car still overheated. Luckily, my wife made it back to the shop. They were waiting for her when she arrived with a new radiator and replaced it at a very fair price. End of story... that fixed her issue and she made it too her sisters house in Texas. I highly recommend these folks and wish they were closer, as I would take all my vehicles to them. Top notch mechanics! read more

Malcolm is the best! My 1993 Dodge Ramcharger broke down (for the first time) a year and a half ago, I was very worried about how to find a reliable mechanic who would not try a pull a fast one on me. He takes the time to explain what is going on to me, and always speaks with my dad and grandpa on the phone (they've both been working on cars their whole life, but are back home in TX). This first breakdown was due to an issue with the electrical wiring under the dash, couldn't start it at all. The first shop I got it towed to sent me away, then I found Drusilla Car Care online and had it towed to them. It took a while, but they got my baby running again. I've had a host of issues come up since then, including issues with the proportioning valve for my brake fluid, my power windows and AC motors died, my power steering went out, and a serpentine belt completely popped off. I can't even remember all the things I've needed his help with, but they're always there for me with fair and honest work. Highly recommend. read more

I can't speak highly enough of this shop. I needed significant repairs done on my vehicle and I took it in for estimates to more than five shops in the Baton Rouge area. From the beginning of the process, the guys at Drusilla were undoubtedly the most honest and fair--and fair feels like an understatement. They worked with me on cost, were transparent about every part of the process, and essentially rebuilt the entire front of my car within a few days. After I picked it up, some things still felt a little off, and they took it back twice (free of charge) to get it exactly right, never making me feel bad for asking that of them after all the time they had already put in. Our truck was vandalized while we were evacuated to Baton Rouge for Hurricane Ida. We were very impressed with the service we received and the courteous and compassionate manner in which the owner treated us. Our truck was repaired promptly and we were able to get back home right away after the hurricane had passed through. Thank you so much. You gave us a ray of hope after a dismal time. And we are glad to report that when we returned home, we discovered we were very fortunate to only have minor damage to our home from the hurricane. Honest, professional, hard working, and they know their trade. Mom and pop shop; one business one location. The head mechanic has over 30 years experience but as a small business owner his shop is new and less than two years old. They have the latest technology (especially the alignment system) and simply more advanced than the competition. I drive over 2,000 miles per week in a Dodge Grand Caravan. I buy cars at the auction, have them fixed, and sell them to certified used car dealers. I've known many mechanics, been around several businesses, and worked on cars myself. These guys are legit. look, y'all. this is the first and only review i'm ever gonna write on here. that's how strongly i feel about the service i received here. i checked this website and it was between here and a place on staring, so i gave this place a shot. i needed new brake pads, calipers, and rotors. malcom was so nice and explained everything to me in layman's terms, and was able to get everything completed in less than 24 hours. he didn't try to sell me anything extra, and rotated my tires and tightened my battery connection that had been loose for a while for free. this place is awesome. i will never go anywhere else for car trouble. read more

I have known Malcom for many years. He is one of the most straight forward and honest people I have met. He is a good Christian and carried those values into his business and all the work he does. If he identifies a problem he lets you know, even when it is only a heads up on something that you can get by with until you have the money to take care of it. Every other mechanic I have ever dealt with tells customers it needs done now taking advantage of those who are less knowledgeable about vehicles. I am a first-time customer who works in the area so I showed up with a leaking tire-on my lunch break. Not only did every employee go out of their way to be friendly and helpful, but the vibe and atmosphere was very pleasant, as well! There was candy and drinks (coffee and water) complimentary in the very tidy and comfortable waiting area. My tire was quickly repaired at no charge because of the nail being in the outside wall.(but I did tip!=) Great overall experience, I highly recommend and will be returning to in the future! read more

The owner of Drusilla Car Care went the extra mile for me when a car loaned to me needed a new battery. After my home and cars flooded, a friend loaned me his car but the battery was dead. Drusilla came to the home I was staying at, jumped me off and I went to the Car Care to get a new battery. He was kind, honest and didn't overcharge me for anything. I hope you give them a try. I am a student at LSU and had to get my rotors replaced in the beginning of the school year. They were really helpful and did a wonderful job. Recently I was on a road trip. During the drive, a truck blew a tire and one of the large pieces got caught on my front bumper and took one of the pins out of the wheel well.
