I've given this Take 5 Oil Change location multiple chances, but after my latest experience I'm done. 1/5 stars. The biggest issue is that the staff is extremely young and unfortunately very unknowledgeable. Age itself wouldn't be a problem if the service was good, but basic things seem to get missed constantly. On one visit they didn't even know how to reset my oil maintenance light. Every single time I go, they aggressively try to upsell me on cabin air filters, upgraded oil, and extra services. I understand upselling is common at oil change places, but the employees here become noticeably judgmental when you decline. On the sticker where they advise you to come back for your next oil change it is well before the expected next mileage date to "Review your car's performance", or essentially them get another opportunity to sell you more services Yesterday was the final straw. They charged me an additional $14 for an "extra quart" of oil that I have NEVER been charged for before. When I questioned it and even showed my previous receipt proving they hadn't charged me in the past, the attendant just said, "That's weird," and still charged me anyway. The whole interaction felt sketchy and dishonest. Another issue: they advertise topping off fluids as part of the service. I specifically told the attendants multiple times that I had no windshield washer fluid. They forgot to fill it. As I was leaving, I reminded them again and overheard the owner/manager say they didn't have any more fluid available. Instead of just being honest with me, the attendant pretended to fill it and waved me out. I ended up having to buy my own washer fluid at AutoZone afterward. For comparison, I took my other two vehicles to Valvoline Instant Oil Change (various locations throughout Arlington). They charge a clear flat rate based on oil type, make maintenance recommendations without being pushy, and the staff actually seems knowledgeable and professional. Take your vehicle wherever you want, but personally I'd recommend going literally anywhere else before coming back to this Take 5. read more

The guys there are VERY rude. They don't help you when you pull up, they didn't acknowledge that I was there, they didn't even ask anything. It was the middle of the day like 1pm and they chose to ignore me and another guy. Needless to say, I took my vehicle to Walmart. They at least acknowledge me when I got there. Took longer but at least I didn't get a bunch of lazy white guys looking at me like I was inconveniencing them. Don't go here. This business is extremely slow, but the guys are nice. There's a ton of standing around, a few guys not engaging with the customer. Get these cars in and out, safely and securely. It was the worst shop I've ever been in. Not only it didn't take 5-10 minutes like advertised, it took about 45-50 minutes. Not only that the kids yes KIDS were fighting and cussing. They were slow I was about to get out and do the oil change myself. This is a terrible place and I'm going to let everyone know. And the coupon I had on my phone just vanished. As I was passing on the road I witnessed a severely pregnant woman in the Take5 parking lot have to use a portable air compressor to put air in a low tire while the men inside watched her and were talking without going to assist...after being open. Requested an oil change for my son's car 4 days before his 21st birthday (that was way over priced at $96.00) and in two days the oil had ran out of the car because the cork at the bottom of the car was not put in correctly. My son was driving home from work and the dash in the car lit up and cut the engine off. The cork had come all the way out and no oil was left in the engine. The engine locked and the car was totaled. He had to wait for 2 hours on the side of the road to get the car towed back to the Take 5 location on Matlock Road in Arlington, TX. Found out that the MANAGER changed the oil in the car. He was apologetic and gave me the information needed to file a claim. I had to pay $200 to have a company come out and do a diagnostic on the car to add to the claim to show that the car engine had been totaled. Called the number given and was given the run around for 3 days. I was finally able to get a claims number and sent all of the paperwork to a representative to start the claim. I have yet to receive a word back on the status of my claim. I have left messages and sent emails for 3 weeks now. Wal-Mart had done a better job on oil changes then this. Now I am stuck trying to find a replacement engine because it is cheaper then buying a new car. Just heartbroken, preventable and a waist of time and hard earned money. 0 OUT OF 10 - DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Every time I've come to this Take 5 location there's something. Last time they lasted about 40-50 minutes to service my car. Today they said they were handling a liability issues when clearly one of the employees could have service my car while the other deals with the issue. It's the closest to my work , but the worst service. If your car is checked in , you might get stuck in the tunnel for like 1 hour. Poor customer service. read more

My kid was going to be driving my car for a short road trip, and at the last minute pushed up the departure time. I'd thought I had another day to get an oil change done, but nope! By then it was almost 6pm, and I discovered via a hail Mary Google search that these guys stay open until 7! Not common in the automotive world, so it was worth a shot. AND they had a very simple to retrieve $10 off coupon, so the choice was basically made for me. When I first arrived they explained that they were not sure they could accommodate me, given the couple people ahead of me. When they offered to make an appointment for first thing the following day, I explained why I couldn't. But they were so awesome about it and said if I didn't mind waiting for a bit, they would do everything to see if they could get through the customers ahead of me. They did, and I got an inexpensive oil change, AND a new favorite place to go. Everyone was professional but nice and fun while they were bustling around getting the service completed. I have since recommend them at least twice, so their decision to go above and beyond should be coming back to them exponentially. I needed an oil change so I tried Take 5, arriving 11:25 am. Bad timing on my part as there was only one crew on duty, lunch time. I didn't mind waiting, but I was never told how long that I would have to wait. Once they started on my car, work was fast and there was a lot of communication between the crew. I am a very low mileage driver so it has been a while since my last oil change and manufacturer recommended full synthetic oil so I was surprised at the final price. From the Take5 survey I completed today, I learned that I should have been offered a bottle of water but wasn't. I pulled out of the bay 40 minutes later at 12:05 pm. Not as fast as their commercials would have you believe. As there are other options closer to home, I probably would not make a special trip for any of their services. read more

Great service! Been here 2 separate occasions. First time,I got my mom's car oil change. It was kinda pricey for full synthetic because I'm used to doing it myself, but either I was tired or lazy. I was really, really impressed how they operated. They did verbal confirmations on their actions and what they were using. Several team members involved repeated them. It was like doing surgery or action during a Code Blue CPR. They ran smooth like a machine. They were very courteous and nice. Didn't pressure much on extra services, but they do ask you or remind you of certain maintenance recommendations for the mileage on your car. They cover all their bases to make sure you're fully satisfied and safe, leaving their garage. I went to a different shop just for state inspection but their inspection tech wasn't available, so I headed over to Take 5, and they were getting me in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. It wasn't my first time at this business. My husband had to get our older car inspected. I am not sure why they had to manually change the light setting in the car. Anyways after the car was inspected went home to park the car. They left the light setting on the position. This is not the primary car that we use on a daily basis. I have been dealing with an issue for 2 weeks that probably should have been resolved in a day, had I not been given the runaround. I went to get an oil change, when I was advised that the Take 5 on Matlock in Arlington, TX had stripped the nut in my oil pan. I was told to take it to them and have them correct the issue. When I got there they told me that they had done the oil change a different way and that it was the other Take 5 on Green Oaks which was responsible. I went back there and a claim was put in, but I never received a call concerning the claim. I went back there after over a week and no correspondence, only to be told that Take 5 on Matlock had put a piece in my oil pan that is not fitted to my car. I'm so frustrated because this should be a quick matter, in my eyes. My wife's car is now leaking oil and we have an issue. I think I need to look for representation in order to resolve the matter.​ read more

We took my mom's van in to get oil change and inspection. Deondre and his crew were so nice and professional. My mom had a stroke and her van is only used to take her to appointments. They were quick to show my husband that her oil was good and didn't need changing, but an air filter did. They handled inspection quickly, as well.
