We had such a memorable experience at Taj Palace, thanks especially to our server, Satish. He was incredibly patient while explaining the menu and spice levels to my very curious yet picky mom. As soon as the egg dosa arrived, we were completely enchanted and honestly forgot to take pictures of the rest of the food. That says everything! My parents absolutely love the aroma of Indian cuisine, but the heat is usually something they can't handle. Satish was so attentive and made sure everything was not spicy at all, even at level 1. Yes, my parents are that sensitive. I would recommend to choose level 1 if you know you are sensitive to the heat. Don't go above level 3. You will DEFINITELY get the aroma and special flavors without the heat. The food was amazing. I can't speak to authenticity since I'm not Indian and haven't been to India, but as someone from the Middle East, I really appreciate the balance and depth of spices. This is the best vindaloo I've had in the U.S. -- and it's not even close. Taj Palace understands something a lot of Indian restaurants in the U.S. still don't: heat without balance is just noise. Their chicken vindaloo has the correct acidity, the correct color, and actual depth -- not the overly salty, muddled mess that passes for vindaloo elsewhere. The spice level was real, not performative. And even after the dish cooled, the flavor held together, which is the clearest sign the kitchen knows what it's doing. Next visit I'm asking for 14/10, not as a flex, but because this is a kitchen I actually trust to push heat without breaking the dish. Sweet lassi and papadum were exactly what they should be -- clean, balanced, no gimmicks. What really sealed it: I tried ordering masala chai late in the evening and was politely refused because fresh batches are made earlier in the day and they wouldn't serve something that wasn't at its best. That level of honesty and standards is rare -- and deeply appreciated. This place doesn't cook for people who want "Indian food vibes." High-quality food and service despite that I've opted for their lunch buffet! First off, you start off with ordering your Naan bread, which you can chose plain, garlic, or spicy, 5/5 stars! The tandoori chicken, chutneys, various curries, including all of the vegetarian dishes were toothsome from the spices (turmeric, cumin, coriander, cardamom, ginger, chili powder, etc.), 5/5 stars! You can easily perceive that the ingredients and cooking techniques are of high-quality once the food hits your palate. I've also ordered the mango lassi because it is always refreshing, especially with spicy foods. It's a yogurt based drink that is creamy and mixed with sweet mango. This magnificent beverage is not included with the buffet; however, it is a must get while having Indian cuisine or even as a dessert. Our server, Ameet, was incredible too. He was friendly and assured that we had everything that we needed for an excellent lunch. He also noticed that I had the spicy chutney and chili sauce from the buffet, and suggested that I get the spicy Naan next time, which I haven't heard of before. The samosas were delicious, the chutney sauce was fresh and had the perfect amount of spice- while the tamarind sauce complemented it with the perfect amount of sweetness. The saag paneer was creamy and had a generous amount of cheese, which I very much appreciate. On the flip side the saag had more chopped onions than I'm used to (which is totally fine) but not enough flavor, plus it was a little on the salty side. And while the samosas were bomb, they definitely needed more filling. With that said, overall it was good and I would order from here again. read more

I was super excited to try Taj Palace in Henderson but honestly left disappointed. I ordered the chicken tandoori, goat karahi, and cheese naan. The cheese naan came out undercooked and soggy which threw me off right away. The goat karahi was much thicker than the usual karahi I've had and the goat itself was a bit overcooked. The chicken tandoori was way too salty for my taste. Service was just okay. What surprised me was when we asked for tap water, they were going to charge us for bottled water instead. Finally sat down for the lunch buffet at Taj Palace today and it was 10/10. My husband and I are usually takeout people (they have an excellent lunch box deal), but the atmosphere here is so nice and clean, and the vibes are always friendly when we go in. Everything we tried was delicious, especially if you're a fan of a little spice! They have plenty of vegetarian options too, which is a huge plus. We had the garlic naan and a side of their Peshwari naan, which is the best I've had in Vegas (perfect amount of fruit!). The staff is incredibly sweet and they even switch up the buffet menu rotation, so something new to try each time you visit. Great food, great service, and even better prices. We visited on Friday for lunch, with a party of two, and it was a nice experience. We were seated right away in a booth. As shown in other reviews, they try to automatically "give" you bottled water, and then charge you for it. I simply told them that we did not need the bottles and that tap water was fine, no charge. We ordered off the menu, as there was also a buffet available. We started with Chicken and Veggie Samosas, they were tasty but a bit smaller than I've had at other places. We then went with Shrimp Vindaloo and Chicken Biryani with Garlic Naan. I asked for 10/10 spice level on the Vindaloo, and it delivered a bit of a kick. The portion sizes were ample and the Naan was very good. The service was very good, the waiter kept up on refills and clearing plates. The margaritas were nice, but a bit small. I took what they gave me back to the restaurant. The guy who greeted me said, "Mulligatwani is a broth soup, but I'll make it thick for you." What he gave me was hardly any different than what I first got. It only had more of what appears to be a bag of frozen mixed vegetables like you would find at a grocery store. We live in the northwest area (Centennial Hills) of the city and more than often, we'd have to drive for a while to find good places to eat. And boy, were we happy to see Taj Palace open a restaurant closer to us than their original location. We had two choices of dining --- order a la carte or feast on their buffet. We decided to do both. The first time, we ordered a la carte. And of course, we started with their garlic nan which we think is one of the very best we've ever had. We also asked for a second serving of their papadum. Just love, love that crunchiness. For appetizer, we chose to get the sampler. We didn't like everything, so next time, we'll stick to samosa. Between the two of us, we ordered the lamb coconut curry and the Butter Chicken, our all time favorites. Both were incredibly tasty. Best of all, we had so much left over that we had enough for another meal for lunch the next day. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to try the buffet the next time. And oh boy --- that was some buffet. The Goat curry was perhaps my favorite. They change the items on the buffet all the time, and I sincerely hope they keep making either the goat or lamb curry because they were truly delicious. We also especially liked the mango chutney ---- for us it was almost like dessert. It went very well with the curry dishes. We have to mention the staff. They were all so friendly and accommodating. Very attentive and responsive. They certainly know how to treat their guests like kings and queens. We never had to signal anyone to come to our table --- it seems that they anticipated when we wanted something. Kudos to the team of servers, manager and the chefs. It's funny I've been here many times for the lunch special which is great but what I came visit again for dinner and this is when I had a fantastic experience. When you come in for dinner, the taste blows the buffet out the water. Everything felt really fresh, hot and steamy. The tandoori chicken I ordered was some of the best I've had in Vegas. It's been almost a year since I last visited this Taj Palace location! This Taj Palace location is off of the 95N/Lake Mead exit. It's right next to a few other businesses like Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. The plaza has plenty of parking spots, too! There is one main entrance for the Taj Palace. My husband and I stopped in for lunch buffet on a Saturday around 11:00 A.M. There were plenty of tables and booths available for seating! The TVs were playing some Bollywood music videos which was great to watch! The service was amazing! Several team members from Taj Palace brought out drinks upon request. I had just a water bottle though! Three different types of complimentary naan were offered, but we decided to go with the garlic naan! The buffet selection consisted of some of the following Chicken Tandoori Masala Basmati Rice Yellow Rice Aloo Vegetables Yellow Dal Vegetable Samosa Vegetable Noodle Mango Custard and so much more!! I ended up eating the following - Basmati and Yellow rice, topped with Yellow Dal, and a few Vegetable Samosas. My husband tried out every dish at the buffet! The food was delicious! One of my favorite dishes is Yellow Dal. The spices were perfectly mixed. The rice wasn't dried out either! The Vegetable Samosa had just a slight heat to it, but otherwise, it was really good and quite filling! My husband had a great time too! The food was scrumptious and the service was amazing!
