The malai chicken tikka was rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked, and the hara bhara chicken was so good--packed with flavor and something a little different from the usual. The shahi paneer was indulgent and comforting, and the bhindi masala was cooked just right with great seasoning. And the garlic chili naan? Rutba is a great desi eatery if you're visiting from out of town. A bit tough to navigate as they're located on the second floor of a massive strip mall in the Asian district. Plenty of parking. Good service, friendly staff always willing to help and answer questions. The restaurant itself is very clean, and I love that. Definitely hygienic and the decor is really fun to look at also. We frequent this spot for samosa chaat and karak chai (we ask for no masala). The naan is buttery and soft, and the curries are flavorful and not highly oil dense as most desi restaurant food is. The price point is average and on the higher side. I've been charged $3 dollars for a small order of chutney before. -1 star as a tiny condiment should not be charged accordingly. I also have asked for extra chutney on my samosa chaat on two different occasions and it's always seemed to be an issue. Whether I'm getting odd glares, or $3 dollar chutney charges for 10 dollars chaat. Feels a bit illogical to me. Will we be back? Definitely Do I hope they change this? Rutba is tucked up top in one of Chinatown's plazas. The restaurant is big and clean modern sleek feel. It wasn't busy when we came mid afternoon for a late lunch. Our server was fast and friendly. The dishes came out fairly quickly. The food was tasty but I was hoping for a little more flavor. The spice level was good. Of course you can always make more or less spicy. Dish size was a decent portion. Overall if you are in the area, check it out. There are Vegan options but you have to ask. Most are located in the vegetarian section. Would be nice if they had sports on the TV, even if they just had the subtitles while we enjoy some Indian music in the background. It was hardly busy on a Saturday night. Here's what we enjoyed: Mango Lassi ($5) - Creamy, refreshing yogurt blended with mango. Kingfisher Indian Beer ($7) - Crisp and light, perfect with spicy dishes. Garlic Naan ($5) - Warm, fluffy, and loaded with fresh garlic and cilantro. So good we ordered a second round! Onion Kulcha ($5) - Soft bread infused with savory onions. Absolutely delicious. As two people that love some good spicy Indian food, we were not disappointed!! First off, it's in the infamous sushi nekko parking lot, so heads up, parking is rough. Other than that, very easy to get to location on spring mountain. Restaurant is located on the second floor and when we arrived we're greeted pretty quickly into a modern looking restaurant. It already smelled amazing from the diners enjoying their meals. We were quickly sat, gave a rundown of the menu and given a chance to look over. Soo much to choose from with both meat and vegetarian option. We were famished so we decided to order a few things. The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious packed with flavor and heat. If you are shy on the spicy side, they have an option of mild, medium, hot and extra hot. Since we haven't been there before we ordered hot for all items. In the future, since we like spicy, we would go with the extra hot. Mind you the hot is pretty hot! Player two ordered a vegetarian lentil curry and I ordered the chicken korma. Side of 2 orders of chili garlic gnaan and also chicken biryani. As soon as the food hit the table I was damn near salivating hahaha smelled so good and I was also starving. Needless to say the food didn't last long. The chicken biryani was probably the spiciest of the 3 entrees. At first had a small kick but the lingering spice built over the next bite or 2. The yogurt sauce helped quench the fire. The chicken korma was packed with flavor and a generous portion. The yellow lentil curry had such great flavor and depth I couldn't stop dipping the gnaan in the curry. We arrived for an early dinner around 5:30pm, the lady saw us after a few minutes, walked past us, did not greet us, just walked us to our table. The place was clean and there was just one other party other than us. We ordered the samosa chaat and Gobi manchurian and some Lassi, nimbu pani. Food arrived promptly. The samosa chaat left a lot to be desired 2/5. The gobi looked like orange chicken and the sauce had similar flavors 2/5. At $16/17 the portion size for Gobi was simply a joke. We ordered chilli garlic naan , onion kulcha and saag paneer for main course. The breads were exceptionally good 5/5. The saag paneer tasted great, except it could use more paneer 4/5. Inside is beautiful, modern looking and very clean. It looks like they have a full bar and on holidays they offer a buffet. Two different people served us who were friendly. We started with the Samosa Chaat and the Pani Puri. The Samosa Chaat is a more chopped up style that I'm not so familiar with but it was tasty. It was less crunchy than I'm used to but still tasty. I also don't come across Pani Puri very often so I had to try them here. They were very crisp, light, and tasty. A little different than the last ones I had but tasty. I thought the Chicken Korma was masterfully prepared and also was a good generous size. The Garlic Chili Naan and the Chana Masala were also delicious and very good. I was in the mood for some authentic, homely Indian food after having fancy food for three days at a conference and other upscale restaurants in Vegas. A quick search on Yelp pointed me to this highly rated Indian eatery. I ordered a beer to get started and then zeroed in on some chili chicken for appetizers and a goat biryani for my entrée. The chili chicken was hot and tasty. Flavor-wise, it was great, but I wish the chicken fritters were coated better with batter before tossing them in that hot chili sauce. But still, they were delicious. The goat biryani tasted straight out of a North Indian restaurant from the 90s in India - I was nostalgic eating it. The restaurant was a little empty because it was early dinner time, but filled up by the time I was finished and ready to leave. We've been to other Indian restaurants that are a little rundown, but this was up to date decor and very pleasant vibe with nice music too. The vegetable samosa was fresh and hot, quite delicious. I'd give this more a 3.5 out of 5. Rutba is an Indian restaurant in Chinatown. The space is nice, looks newly renovated and modern. I will start off with the positive and say I did like the pani puri a lot. It's a chilled dish of diced veggies that you put in a kind of cracker cup and add a spicy tangy sauce. It's a fun dish either way great flavors and textures. I went for lunch with my best friend and his fiancé. Service is very slow. There's no sense of urgency. Not a big issue at all just an observation. On to the food, we did the standard butter chicken, malai grilled chicken, paneer korma, and I got malai koftai. We also did biriyani and we did a bunch of different naan. I believe the cook the naan in a traditional oven. I will say it was very average. Didn't stand out as being delicious. All the dishes we got I also think were good but not really good. I wasn't happy with the malai kofta. It's my go to dish. The sauce itself was kind of basic and the meat free balls were not the best. They were very doughy almost like hush puppies. I've had better. Butter chicken was good and the korma was good- they did lack spice IMO. I think it's a welcome addition but I will say my honest opinion is the spot is average at best for Indian food in Vegas but I think it's good and gets the job done. read more

They recently had their one year anniversary on November 15, 2024. Inside is clean and spacious with beautiful lighting, ample seating, and relaxing music. Menu offers a nice selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers, rice specialties, traditional breads, entrees for chicken, lamb, goat, and vegetarian, as well as accompaniments such as house salad, masala papad which are deep fried lentil wafers, and mango chutney. Pani Puri ($8) is tasty and very good! It's six delicate crispy shells served with a flavorful concoction of sautéed potatoes and sweet red onions, comes with mint dipping sauce that's delivered in a shot glass to drink afterwards. This street food is very popular in India and so enjoyable! Dal Makhani ($16) is delicious! It has black lentils that's slow-cooked with ginger, garlic, and tomatoes in a blend of spices, served hot with soft and fluffy basmati rice, so good! Mango Lassi ($5) is so yummy and refreshing! It's creamy churned yogurt with a lovely sweetness from mango extracts. For dessert, they have gulab jamun which is milk-based dumplings soaked in aromatic sweet syrup, gajar halwa is grated carrots cooked with milk on low flame, and traditional kulfi ice cream for malai, mango, and pistachio. I had Malai Kulfi ($6) which is very unique and special ice cream from India. It's made from milk powder boiled and has a lovely fragrance of rose petal. Kulfi is topped with chewy candy fruits and is delightful! Also had Indian Chai ($5) served hot. It's aromatic spiced tea unsweetened and brewed with tea leaves and milk, and accompanied with a side of packet sugar to add sweetness. On Friday, October 31 of 2025, I went to an Indian restaurant called Rutba. On the second floor of the Pacific Asian Plaza on Spring Mountain Road, it sits to the right with a pristine grass wall and overhead string lights. Upon entering the clean establishment, I was immediately greeted by a friendly young woman. She asked for the number of expected seats to be arranged, seated my accompanied guest and I, and served us a large glass jug of water coupled with some glass cups. A song playing in the overhead was "Tere Mere Pyar nu Nazar lag jave na" by Roopan beats. One of the items I ordered usually is served with naan, and they were concerned about the potential for negative bias if served without. I appreciated the efforts in communicating with the staff and let them know that due to dietary restrictions set by my doctor, I couldn't eat rice, noodles, or bread. I understood their position, and they respected my choices. They were very attentive. And usually, in many restaurants I go to, a waiter/ waitress serves the food. It was interesting to see the chef also approach and serve them. A song called "Mar Jawaan" by Shruti Pathak & Salim Merchant began playing. The contrast between the furnishing and the interior design was eye-catching, something of a modern yet subtle retro aesthetic. There were plenty of seats available, and the atmosphere of the ambiance was very relaxing. Every table already had a dining setup, including cloth napkins and metal forks, spoons, and knives. The temperature was not too chilly inside, and I noticed they had both yellow and white lighting. There was enough lighting to see the food clearly, and each dish had a nice presentation. In between each dish, I ensured to rinse my palette and drink water in between each dish. For the appetizer, I ordered a Gobi Manchurian ($14), which were cauliflower florets golden fried and sauteed with light ginger, garlic, onions, and bell peppers in their special Indo-Chinese sauce. It had a sweet, citrusy aroma with floral undertones, and had a familiar appearance that resembled orange chicken. It tasted fresh, crisp, and had a pleasant "kick" of medium spice level. The vegetables were not too soft. I started hearing "Dheere Dheere" by Yo Yo Honey Singh playing in the restaurant. For the Entrée, I ordered a Paneer Bhurji ($17), which were crumbled homemade cheese cooked with ginger-garlic paste, onions, tomatoes, and mild spices. The taste and smell were earthy and toasted. Similar to the gobi Manchurian, this dish was also flavorful and had a kick. Usually, I'm not a fan of peas. But for this dish, I enjoyed them. This was the dish that concerned not having eaten with naan, as they explained the dish may be dry. However, I enjoyed it just fine without it. The texture was similar to scrambled eggs or cottage cheese. The consistency was very balanced. Another song that played in the restaurant was "Beliya" by Gurnam Bhullar. For the side, I ordered a house salad ($6), which included leafy greens, tomatoes, red onions and cucumbers. Everything was neatly arranged and complimented with all of the dishes. I noticed it was lightly seasoned. At the end of my meal, I ordered chai ($5), and aromatic spiced tea, brewed with the highest-grade blend of tea leaves and milk. I typically tend to enjoy bitter-sweet palettes, nothing too sweet, tart, or sugary. This drink for me was enjoyable without the addition of sugar. Robust, reminiscent of a black-tea base, subtly spiced. It reminded me of silk-stocking tea. At this point, "Let Me Down Slowly" by Alec Benjamin was playing from the overhead. With the chai, I ordered for dessert Gulab Jamun, a milk-based dumpling soaked in aromatic sweet syrup. The sweetness of this dessert complimented the natural flavors of the chai. For two people, we were satisfied with the portions served. Good food, service, and ambiance :) Since we enjoyed dining here, I returned for a second visit to try more of their dishes.
