Long long time ago before Taj opened a store front they used to do pop ups all over, I can remember the days they had pop ups at Chaminade then they opened a store at Ala Moana and moved to ward. It's really sad that after all these many years Taj clubhouse will shut down for good. They are having a store sale now in preparation for closing. Saying i L-O-V-E shopping here is an understatement. Let me explain, as a guy i sometimes have trouble picking out baby shower gifts. Here I can walk in, tell them my budget, tell them if its a boy or girl and then they show me great options. This past visit before Christmas they had a sale going on so i was able to get a nice blanket that usually would be a lot more expensive. The workers here are so wonderful and patient. read more

I must've walked by this cute little shop a dozen times. I was looking for some gifts for children, well more specifically, Sonic the hedgehog. Well, didn't find him, but these really cool rubber stamps! Granted, I teach high school but my students love these things. So now I have something to stamp their papers with. The woman working was very kind and friendly! It was funny. One of her friends came by to see her while I was looking around. I don't normally post reviews on Yelp, but when I do it's for an outstanding business. Husband went to this store hoping to get a gift for his friend's baby's 1 year birthday gift. The aunty running the store was talking story with us, asking us questions about our son, how my husband and I met, and where we grew up. It seemed like she was genuinely interested in just talking story with us. Growing up I remember a lot of us sporting the Taj Clubhouse shirts. I told her they were actually pretty iconic and now our son wears a number of their shirts. She was so nice, she gave us a few gifts for free such as make your own rubber stamps, a pouch, goldfish crackers, and a free shirt for our son. The new store is so much smaller than their old space at Ward Warehouse, however, Taj Clubhouse still has all the great Taj merchandise; T-shirts, tote bags, diaper cloths, face coverings, and my favorite, RUBBER STAMPS. Located in Ward Center next to Diamond Head Chocolate Co. No valet service a Ward Center anymore, but the parking structure has loads of stalls. Parking is also available across the street where TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack is located. All free of charge. (Not speaking for the Electric Vehicle Charging Station stalls) On a mission to find some local Hawaii themed goodies that are for a little girl from Russia. Her family has been coming to Hawaii the last decade, during the Winter months as the weather is so much nicer here than in Russia. Taj has always been synonymous for having lots of "local" themed products that are cute and very well made. I wanted to buy everything I saw, but I wasn't shopping for me. I found a little mermaid tote bag, a little face covering and a unicorn T-shirt for her. I did a tiny bit of shopping for me and picked up a couple rubber stamps and Tsum-Tsum's. I gotta give it up to this store called - "Taj Clubhouse", as the service here was OUTSTANDING!!!! Normally you would NEVER catch me in a store like this, as it appears that this business is basically a local themed clothing store for little kids (I don't have any kids). Besides kids clothing, they also sold rubber stamps, greeting cards, & stationary. Stuff that I wouldn't buy because I ain't "artsy fartsie lil' dat. If I needed a greeting card, I'm more inclined to just go to the drug store & buy a card, instead of making a card. Lol! Anyways, what led me here was because my friend Jennifer C. needed to buy a gift for someone's kid, and I must say that this store was the perfect store to go to, if you're looking for some cutesy stuff (especially for a girl). The inventory selection is pretty big, and I'm sure you can find something for a kid from infant, to at least about 10 to 12 years old. A lot of the prints here were local themed, which makes it unique, and a great gift for a loved one. Super quality, cheery prints, awesome service. This is an awesome local business owned and operated by two sisters with really made in Hawaii things. I just gave some of their things for a baby lu'au (masked, social distance respected, all vaccinated ) and they loved the gifts. They are my go-to for baby gifts. I picked up a pencil case while I was there and it cheers me every day. I though the prices were very fair considering how cute and locally made. I'm checking in and notice I've never write a review for TAJ!!!! What is my problem?!? This old-school local artistry is my fave to get the cutest baby gifts. They have matching prints for adults too!!! I remember these classic characters from when I was a kid. And while the prints and designs have changed, the signature look has not. It's still super cute. So I'm strolling here with my boys for a chance to pick up their super awesome hawaii fish shirts for them....and I see a shelf of stuffed sea creature dolls. So awesome. The boys went home with two sharks and an eagle ray. They love the train table and all the other things there. And TAJ also sells their kawaii characters as stamps! Home projects here we come! The people are always really friendly and super helpful and not to mention patient with my boys' and my decision making skills. Love this store.....check them out!! read more

TAJ has the absolute cutest stuff! Their baby stuff and matching family outfits are so great! We received gifts of burp clothes and onesies when my son was born and now we're addicted to the cute patterns that showcase the aloha spirit and local traditions! We live on the mainland right now but we get sooooo many compliments from locals and mainlanders alike! Even if they weren't a wonderfully kind locally owned family business, we would love their products, but the fact that they are makes them so much better! In the era of big box companies, the baby industry in particular has become really toxic. It's so nice to get away from that and have the option to buy from a local company that cares about the Hawaii community! I have been coming here for 20 years to purchase a desk calendar, never missed a year or my desk at work wouldn't feel the same without it. You can purchase the calendar, for about $4-$5 or get it free with a $25 purchase. Every year when I stop by for my calendar, I browse for about 15 minutes hoping to find something I would want to purchase and get the calendar for free, and I end up just buying it. They have such cute clothing, blankets, stuffed animals, towels, etc. etc. and also sell a small cute selection of crafting supplies, and stationeries. As I mentioned, the products are simply adorable, but a little costly for my wallet. I actually use to buy the baby products from here when there was a bunch of babies in the family, but now they are all grown. They only print a limited supply of the calendars, so each year I call around this time to check if it's in and is about the only time I stop in. I was relieved to hear they have already occupied their new location and will continue to operate this location until they need to move. read more

I've followed TAJ for about 20+ years from purchasing rubber stamps, taking classes, getting t shirts for my daughters when they were little and today I came in hopes of buying something for my granddaughter. The shop opens at 10 a.m. One of the owners recognized me sitting at one of the tables outside of the store. She's as kind, friendly and caring plus looks as young as when I met her college time. The contents of the fully stocked store has current tshirt designs for Valentines Day 2017 as well as Year of the Rooster. They carry dolls, toys, clothing, rubber stamps, cute stationery, and much more that can intrigue shoppers. I had heard on a previous visit that there is a 2 nd store close by that has Saturday hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The space according to today's cashier is a little smaller and may have slightly different items. It was nice to finally visit Taj clubhouse. I hadn't been there in a very long time. I found some kitchen towels and pot holders for a Christmas gift and an oversized shirt for a sleep shirt. I've enjoyed all the different characters since my children were little. I was going to find the new year design but it wasn't available yet. I'll have to go back soon. My sister and I are visiting from California and ended up purchasing masks (reversible!), baby bibs and a baby onesie for our niece. They have lots to choose from for kids of all ages, even infants!
