I have been taking my pup to here for almost two years. Not gonna lie, it's always been hit and miss. There were a few times I thought about finding another groomer (especially after hearing other's experiences) but I didn't want to have my dog go through more anxiety, than what she would already experience, by taking her to a new groomer. But, this was the last straw. I was so hopeful this time around because the last time I took her she came out so adorable. When I took her in this time, a groomer asked me if I wanted the same as last time, and I said yes. Just a trim, brush out, and the usual nails, etc. Mayté recently had to undergo surgery for a foxtail that was stuck in her paw, so she had done a lot of licking on one leg/paw, which made her fur really matted on that leg. So, when CoCo had called to tell me that the matting on her leg was too close to the skin, and they needed to shave down, I agreed, but was very specific that I wanted to keep her body long, with just a trim. She reiterated what I had instructed and that was that. They call me a couple hours later that she was finished, so I go and pick her up. Total was $85 and I gave an 18% gratuity. When they brought her out, after I was done paying, I was so shocked! There were more customers in the waiting room, and I'm not the type of person to make a scene, and I'm not usually one to complain. I took her out and thought to myself, maybe it isn't too bad, but as soon as I got into the car and examined her further, I was like WTF?!?! As soon as I got home I texted them and about 20 mins later they called me. I told them all the things that were wrong and the lady on the phone told me to bring her back so they could "blend." I explained that any time my dog goes to the groomer or vet, she is super anxious and it takes her a couple of hours to settle down and that I was not going to do that to her again. So, she apologized and then asked if there was anything they could do for me, instead of offering me a refund flat out. Even if I should have asked for one, I didn't ask for a refund because they did the job, just so very terribly. My response was, "well no, I'm just not going to be taking her back..." again she apologized. I had heard things from some friends that their customer service wasn't great, they were over priced, and that they had had some not so great experiences (all after I had already been taking her for a few months). This is my first dog that I've ever had to take to a groomer, all my other pups have been short-haired dogs. Well, I should have listened and found another place to take her. I won't be going back. The lack of consistency and the lack of care that went into grooming Mayte is so sad to me. Putting trust in people to take care of my fur baby is difficult enough.

The best dog groomer in the Bay Area! Chloe is my 10 year old toy poodle and my first dog I owned with hair instead of fur. When she was little I tried cutting her myself... that was mistake lol. I tried a couple other groomers before hearing about Tails a Gogo from a family friend. I started taking Chloe to Coco the owner of Tails a Go-Go 7 years ago in 2018. I will never go to another groomer! Chloe is so happy when she sees Coco which makes me feel so comfortable knowing my dog loves her groomer. Coco is so sweet and always happy to see me and Chloe when we come in. Not only do we feel welcome but Chloe's hair cut is perfect and consistent every time. If you are considering coming to Tails a Go-GO I would not even hesitate to call and book!

I've brought my two dogs here a couple times since they are close to where I live and after the last experience, I am unfortunately going to be bringing my dogs somewhere else. While they make my dogs look terrific, what I dislike about this place was the fact they took so long. My last appointment, I brought my dogs in early right when they opened (around 8am). I felt like my dogs were the last dogs to leave. I did not get the call that my dogs were done until about 4pm. Can someone explain to me how my dogs were in there for 7-8 hours and not be done? I also have to mention that one of my dogs acted very strange the next couple days after his appointment at the groomers. Before I brought him in he was so happy and lively. When I picked him up and for the next day and a half, he was not himself. He was yelping and seemed very down. It got me worried that I had to text one of my friends who works at a vet, "should i be bringing him down? he's not himself". Both my dogs have gone to the groomers multiple times and neither one of them have EVER acted like this before. Because of the time it takes to get my dogs back from this groomer and the fact my dog felt traumatized, I will not be bringing my dog back to this place. Update: I received a call/voicemail from tails a Go-Go saying they saw my "review" and explained to me that they told me upfront if I was okay if my dogs could stay longer due to covid-19. I was never asked by anyone if my dogs could stay longer and whether I was okay with it. Clearly by them leaving me a voicemail and stating my dogs names, shows I am in their system and have reviewed the correct groomer.

This review is solely based on the quick response I received. After leaving a VM, Coco called me back within a few hours. I called back again when they were open hoping to make an appointment. Jasmine informed me that they do not accept dogs who are over 50 lbs. I regularly have to pick up my big wimpy baby when he's tired, to put him in my car (and he's HEAVY) so I completely understand that it must be unsafe to require employees to do that heavy lifting. I just wish there was a way to manage big dogs (a ramp?), or at least indicate this on the website. Luckily he still looks cute with his long puppy fur.

Great grooming job. They were courteous, able to get my dog in rapidly, and were quite reasonably priced.

He's on flea meds and I've never seen a flea or these bites on him before. Don't take your dog here. I was recommended this place by a friend. I'm pretty sure they're friends, so I was hesitant to leave a review. I told him that I just needed the basics. Sanitation cut, glands, and nails. I dropped my dog off at 10. I called at 2 and he wasn't ready. I don't know how you need 4 hours when I made an appointment, but whatever. I finally got to pick him up around 3. Was charged almost $100 and was griped out by the guy saying that next time he had to "do all that" it would be $120. All that? He did way more than I asked. I am actually find with that. Hair grows out. I'm not okay with the nicks and razor burn. He's been licking and chewing himself for 4 days. He never used to do that. He keeps licking his anus, which worries me about how gentle they weren't with expressing him. The cut itself is super choppy looking. Like he has short spots and long spots right next to each other. But even if he looked perfect, I'd be upset by the razor burn and the little nicks. I wish I had listened to myself. I really didn't want to leave him there. My brain kept screaming for me to leave. I should have listened. Now I had to spend another $40 on hot spot sprays and skin soothing lotion.

We did quite a bit of research given our girl was still a puppy and this was her first grooming session ever before finally landing on DBFTCM. They're website booking doesn't seem to work, and usually no one picks up the phone. So you'll have to leave a voicemail and wait for a return call. But those minor hoops are well worth it for the excellent care they provide your furbaby while in their care. And the great results you'll have when picking them up. We opted for a teddy bear cut, and she came out looking like the most adorable little teddy bear puppy ever! Despite hearing that she was very squirmy throughout the session, especially with the dryer, they still managed to do an amazing job with all the trimming, shaving, and cleaning. We did a full service package, and it was well worth the money spent! Although we've only been once so far, DBFTCM has earned a client for life. And we look forward to Mango's second appointment!

She always runs right in when we drop her off and we can tell she has a lot of fun when we watch her on the webcam. In situations where our travel plans have delayed us in picking her up, they have always been incredibly kind and understanding. We started adding walks to her long stays so she gets some individual outside time in addition to all day inside playtime. I have nothing but good things to report about the Barkmont and they make being a dog owner in the Bay so much easier. I also think they are just really good people, I heard they now partner with local pet rescues to give their foster dogs some socialization and love. Makes us feel good supporting them. HE CANNOT WAIT TO GET IN THE DOOR AT THE BARKMONT. He absolutely loves the staff - professionals who are all very loving, kind and tender with the dogs. I should add that Ollie is somewhat of a higher maintenance dog - a 2-year-old 80 lb Samoyed who is an attention hound. I really like that the Barkmont has cameras so that you can log into to see how your fur baby is doing during a stay. The dogs are constantly monitored by staff who are in the various rooms - to ensure that no one gets out of line. Alot of additional services - meals, walks, bath etc. Kirk and Amanda - the owners both love dogs. They have provided in my opinion the VERY BEST DAYCARE FACILITY in the Bay Area.
