~CAUTIONARY TALE`~ AVOID ~STAY AWAY~WARNING~…read more My experience is so unfortunate and I feel compelled to warn any and all Mothers of Brides and Grooms to NOT do business here. During such an exciting and fun family time no one needs to experience this: I made an appointment to look at Mother of the Groom dresses on 2/16/24 for 3:00pm and I was greeted and I saw a beautiful dress in the storefront and tried it on. It seemed it would be a great possibility and excitedly I decided to buy it. Although it would need significant alterations. Anna, the owner enthusiastically made an appointment for me to return to the store a month later to be seen by the tailor. I provided Anna with my credit card and I signed an invoice. I left the store at 4:00pm. The dress is in the possession of the store and I have never taken possession, nor has a single pin or alteration been made. I contacted my family members in the bridal party and showed them an online photo of the dress and they said it would not work because the color and style were going to be a problem. The dress was rejected. I called Anna at 9:00 am Saturday and left a voicemail and followed up with an email at 11:00 am letting Anna know that I did not want the dress and to please credit my card account. This is 17 hours after I left the store NOTE: her store is not open Sat Sun or Monday~ However, I thought I should immediately let the store know I would not be taking this dress. I followed up on Tuesday with a call and Anna returned my call with an email saying there would be NO credit back to my card but she would offer me a store credit, or I could have another dress made for me. I was shocked as there was NEVER mention of a NO return, NO credit card return policy. There was no conversation and no signage, no mention on a website or any indication of such a policy. Anna said it was on my receipt. In an email, she also stated that it is the responsibility of the consumer to ask about the store policy and salespeople do not need to mention it! This was outrageous. I signed a carbon set of receipts: when I signed there was NO indication of anything other than the dress and a shawl to be purchased which was all handwritten. The receipt I received in my hand was a folded bottom copy from a set of carbons. I did not think anything of it, until I was prompted to look and it is a receipt with a *hand stamped* No Return No Credit card credit stamped on it just above my signature. Anna said it is on the original receipt, but that is also hand stamped! Each of these receipts was stamped after the fact of signing. NOTE: When I signed there was NO indication of her policy ~ If it was there when I signed I am sure that would have prompted a question and some answers with regard to a policy and I would not have agreed to give her my credit card. Since this time, I have disputed the charge with my bank and Anna has provided false and misleading information, such as saying its a custom dress, etc.(which it is not) and has called me at least three times saying she will give me my money because she has reconsidered "but she cant do it right now, she has some things going on but she will in a few weeks". She most recently sent me an email trying to offer me half of what I am owed and the other half in a store credit!! I now must file in court to get my money and I have advised Anna Neiman Coutures that I will file in District Court. **This is a significant amount of money.** So, Anna Neiman has my money and the dress! I have filed in a court to get resolution. THIS IS A CONSUMER NIGHTMARE and Anna Neiman Couture is a terrible business. ~Stay away at all costs!!~

I brought my mothers dress to Jacqueline's for alterations and unprompted, she made disparaging comments about my wedding shoes and the quality of my dress. Jacqueline immediately made me feel uncomfortable and self conscious which is the opposite feeling any bridal shop owner should make a customer feel. She kept loudly announcing that I needed to make big, final decisions about my dress within an hour (the seamstress discreetly told me that I didn't need to make decisions on the spot and that I could wait). I ended up feeling so overwhelmed that I agreed to several alterations, gave them a deposit and then left the store. After several hours, I knew Jacqueline's was the wrong fit and called the store asking to pick up my dress the next morning but offered to compensate the seamstress for her time. After several unanswered calls and cordial emails, the owner finally responded and said the seamstress had already completed ALL my dress alterations (within 24 hours of me dropping it off) and that if I came to pick up my dress without an appointment, she would call the Wellesley police for trespassing. Call the police...for me coming to get my wedding dress that I asked her to not work on. Luckily, my close friend is a lawyer and informed Jacqueline that what she did was not only incredibly disrespectful but also illegal. After so many unanswered calls and emails, it was amazing how quickly she responded after she received a letter detailing her illicit threats. It was such a traumatic experience and on top op everything, she did such a horrible job on my dress. I ended up taking my dress to Fairbanks in Natick to fix all the mistakes. The owner at Fairbanks is kind, funny and she fixed my dress at a fraction of the cost.

I tried calling MANY times to the store to try to cancel my appointment ( I already found my dress) no answer. I had to drive ALL the way there which it was an HR drive from where I live. After a lot of back of forth I had to confirm with the owner that my appointment is canceled. She said it is. Then few weeks later I saw that I got hit the $130 late cancellation fee. I DROVE ALL THE WAY THERE 48 HRS PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT. The owner and the business itself is SCAM. STAY AWAY.

I've grown…read moreup from high school, through college, work, and now in graduate school, and I still go to Carol because that is just how much I trust her with my hair! I have a lot of hair, and it is thick and dark and can be difficult to understand how to style in a flattering way. I've gotten many cuts, several Japanese hair straightening treatments, a prom styling, and a few different colors over the years, and I have never been disappointed. Carol is, in a word, incredible. She will work with you to figure out what works best for you, your hair, and your lifestyle. 1) Cuts. I've had bangs, short hair, and long, layered hair all done here. Carol always double checks with you to see what you would prefer at every stage. My job requires me to tie my hair back, for example, so we always make sure my hair is left long enough to be neatly pulled back. 2) Treatments. Carol actually recommended the hair straightening treatment to me back in high school as I was having trouble handling my thick, wavy and frizzy hair at the time. Though the treatment took hours, I was left with beautifully sleek, long lasting hair. That was back in 2013. I have gone approximately once a year since then to have the treatment done, and it is worth every penny. My hair has become much more manageable (especially in the summer!), and Carol has been able to adjust the strength of the treatment to match how my hair texture has changed over time. 3) Coloring. I've had 3 different balayages and 1 solid color done here. Carol and I always discuss beforehand what is possible for my hair. As I mentioned, my hair is naturally very dark, almost a true black, and was usually grown out in my natural color when I went in for a coloring appointment. When I want to color my hair, I show Carol a few pictures and we talk about which ones may be edited and which ones would require a lot of time to lighten, process, and tone. On Carol's suggestion, we usually go for balayage since I'm usually not able to go in for touchups and need a style that grows out well. More than anything, Carol is very honest about how long it will take to process your hair, and is absolutely willing to spend time to work with you to make sure you love the result. To top it all off, both Carol and Lisa are warm, welcoming, and talkative, and so it is a real treat when I get to go see them for a few hours! Leaving with fantastic hair is the cherry on top. Safe to say, I'll continue to go to Vanessa Bridal for as long as I can!

I said" it is too yellow and that's not what the color I showed her this morning" Carol said " I think this color does not fit your profession I will redo your color this afternoon" Then the boss ask for 250 dollars for the hair cut and color service. I gave 10 dollars for tips and the boss said it is too little. "Usually we got 20 dollars or 30 dollars for tips." Then I paid total $270 for the hair cut plus coloring service and tips. She told me the hair cut price is $38 dollars and $212 is for the hair coloring service. Then I came back in the afternoon, Carol redo my hair twice in the afternoon and gave me a yellowish green or greenish yellow hair. (Picture 3) It is not the color I showed her! I showed her the color I want this morning and also this afternoon before she did anything. I paid $270 for my hair and what I got is not even close to what I showed her. If you can not do it, let me know in front. She tried to persuade me to let her color my hair another time. I refused because I already gave her a second chance and she failed. I don't what her to touch my hair anymore. I asked for my money back but they refused. They said we don't give money back. You can call the police. I called police and the officer said I should sue them on a small claim court for my money back. I will do that and I felt shamed for them. Poor service, greedy and bad attitude.

I definitely had the best experience of the weekend here. Before visiting, you use their online portal to select your favorite dresses from their collection. When I arrived, you could tell that the stylist had spent some time reviewing my choices and really put some thought into how to structure the appointment. I tried on all of my favorites, and also quite a few of her recommendations in similar styles. I loved so many of the dresses I tried on, I'd say their collection is trendier than a lot of other places I visited, but still has some classic styles mixed in. While my other appointments were pretty hit or miss, basically everything I tried on here was high quality and so beautiful. The store itself is really pretty too, it feels super high-end and relaxing at the same time. There's a private room with a changing area for the bride and seating for guests, and it seems like they only do one shopping appointment and one dress pick-up appointment at a time, so it's really private. The prices were fair, ordering and dress pick-up process was seamless, and the staff was so helpful along the way. They don't offer alterations in house, but have two preferred tailoring partners they can refer you too. I picked my dress about 10 months before my wedding, and had to pay a small rush fee to get the dress in time, so make sure you plan way ahead. Loved the experience overall and am so so happy with my dress. I've already been recommending it to all the future brides in my life!!

Anita, the owner of Bridal Reflections, is amazingly helpful and sweet. She runs her business out of her home (above a dentists office), so don't be thrown off when you get there. The entire second floor is filled with amazing dresses. The selection was better than any bridal store I'd visited before. The bride to be had a specific gown in mind for me to wear and Anita found it immediately, and then spoke on the phone to another bridesmaid who lives in North Carolina to order the same dress for her. The prices were much less than other bridal stores. She passes on the discount she gets from having a home based business straight to you. I paid a deposit using my credit card. "It's okay if it's not dyed with the other ones.. I mean the maid of honor can be slightly off color, right?" Well that line worked. After calling at least 4 other places in the area, I spoke with Anita of Bridal Reflections. BR is Anita's business that she runs from her home in Watertown (she also has a place in Belmont where she shows dresses I believe). Seemed semi-strange at first, but we're all trying to make a buck these days and I'd heard good things, so I went ahead and bought it with Anita. She gave me the sweetest price too. Probably about $40-60 less than her competitors (and she told me prices without sounding exasperated). I don't know remember if I told her about my lack of funds or if she could sense my desperation, but she told me I could pay for half of it now and then pay for the rest when the dress arrived. Amazing. Seriously amazing for those of you who know about my 3 apartment debacle from this summer. Fast forward to a little over a month later and the dress arrived early! Anita came to the rescue again. When she found out I was having issues getting down to Watertown and that I would be taking a bus, she wouldn't have it. She took my credit info over the phone, charged me the balance, and shipped the dress that day. I received it by the end of the next business day! Seriously, Anita is the nicest wedding affiliated woman I've ever met. OH and I almost forgot, last time I chatted with her, she recommended a woman she's been working with on alterations for forever. I haven't chatted with her yet, but if she's been working with Anita.. she's gotta be good!
