Recently I had some garments for tailoring. I went into the change room as they asked, but midway through being pinned a man came in who wanted elbow patches on his sweater. The woman left me without apology or explanation and went and helped him! I said nothing and went to change into the next garment. I stepped out and the tailor and another assistant were finishing up with typing in clothes from clients who had left. I waited. A man then came in and the tailor served him - while ignoring me. The other woman went to the back. I waited. The first man left, and another man came in and again, the tailor served the new male customer. I waited and then said, "this is the second customer you have served while I am waiting." He arrogantly didn't even turn, she said nothing. I went in and changed. She came and tried to hug me. I said nothing and walked out. Awful, awful service at very high prices. I went down the road to an elderly couple who are wonderful tailors. Half the price and far better service and tailoring. I will never go back to Lewandos, overpriced, rude...

I didn't ask upfront the cost, because I've had friends recommended them, so I trusted it would be fair. I was thinking at the worst possible scenario it would cost $100 for the job. They charged me $220 for a hem!!!! When I questioned them, they were belligerent defending their work. When I told them a friend got the same dress completely redone, pulled apart and put back together plus a hem for $140, which we thought was ridiculous. The woman at the shop likened it to shopping at Roche Bros. rather than Market Basket. I'd steer clear of Hoi's Tailor Shop. I was robbed. They didn't even try to be nice about it. Completely defensive. I should've done it myself. I like local businesses, but this totally backfired.

She was very detailed, very calm and sweet to work with, and generally just put me at ease during the whole (X number of layer) process that took over an hour. Was I uncomfortable? Yes. But that's how this goes! Her office was clean and she played great music and chatted us up about everything and we felt right at home, my mother and myself. For a follow up, I needed to have my dress taken out a smidgen once I started to move around in it, and she did it in a snap - I actually had to work through the appointment we had and totally missed it, boo on me, so she made her best guess on what to change based on what my issue was, and I didn't even get to try it out! And lo and behold, everything FITS! I couldn't believe it. So thankful that she knows what she is doing and takes the time to understand her clients throughout this stressful process. Give Roshan a call - it will be worth it. Even if she's in many locations. I'll post a photo once the wedding is all done :)
