WARNING: If you value your wedding dress, avoid this place at all costs. What should have been one of the happiest experiences of my life -- finding and perfecting my wedding dress -- turned into an absolute nightmare. They had my gown for almost 3 months, charged me nearly $1,400, and in the end, so much was done wrong, sloppily, or not done at all. I walked away from my final pickup just two days before my wedding in tears, crying in my car, because my dream dress was ruined. From day one, I told them over and over that the left breast was missing a cup and liner. I was even charged $80 specifically for this fix. After reminding them at every appointment, I came to my "final" pickup -- and it STILL wasn't done. Only after I pointed it out yet again did they scramble for 20+ minutes to shove in a cup so it looked halfway even. I couldn't believe how careless they were with something so important. The worst heartbreak came when I saw what they had done to the design itself. There was a beautiful handmade detail flowing down the back of my corset -- one of my absolute favorite parts of the gown. Without permission, they cut it completely off. When I asked about it, they admitted they had chopped it in half and reattached it incorrectly, not even starting from the corset. They destroyed a piece of the dress that made it truly special. Other issues piled on: * Requests I made to stitch down lifted pieces of the corset were ignored over and over. At my final pickup, it was STILL undone, and they had to fix it while I sat there waiting. * They "fixed" my zipper because something was off with it, leaving me terrified it would break on my wedding day. * A tailor admitted they had only worked on it the day before -- proving they let my dress sit for weeks untouched, only to rush it at the very last second. The treatment I received was just as awful as the work itself. Aside from one girl at the end and one blonde tailor, the rest of the staff were condescending, dismissive, and rude. There was no communication between them, no consistency, and absolutely no compassion for the fact that this was a wedding dress -- not just some piece of fabric. In the end, my dress fit and looked worse than it did the day I bought it. I left devastated, with my wedding just days away, knowing the dress I had dreamed of would never look the way I had imagined. This was supposed to be the happiest moment, and instead, it left me crying and heartbroken. Please, if you are a bride, do not risk going through what I did. Granddaughter went here on the recommendation of her bridal shop. We would NEVER recommend this place. Go anywhere else!! Our experience mirrors all of the other poor ratings. Slow, or no, service. Not following up, not listening to what was requested for alterations, over charging for everything. I had mixed experiences here, but would overall recommend! I was fortune enough to have about 5 months of time to alter the dress before my wedding and had a fairly simple design, which made my experience with TIW much less stressful. They had me come to about 6 different appointments every 4 weeks or so leading up to the wedding. I dealt with a different person each time and it was a little chaotic and confusing figuring out what still needed to be done, but they made it happen! My dress fit like a glove on my wedding day (even with Hawaii humidity) and everything they promised to do was done on time. I paid about $1,100 for the dress to be taken down 4 sizes, "butt lift" added, new zipper, chest area taken in significantly (strapless dress held up great), and took in the waist so it was seamless. I thought it was well-worth the money, especially considering how many appointments you're given. I recommend! read more

The worst experience with my wedding dress alterations. If you are considering going here, please do yourself a favor and read this review along with the others & go somewhere else. The timeliness and professionalism were incredibly disappointing. You get a different person each appointment and it feels like they don't read the appointment notes from previous appointments as I had to repeat things I already went over in my previous appointments. But where the real nightmare began was on my original pickup date for my dress, they called me needing to reschedule my appointment. This was after 6 weeks of coming in every week and really looking forward to finally being able to see my dress complete. I rescheduled for a few days later, only for them to call 15 minutes before the new rescheduled appointment as I was almost to the shop, stating they needed to reschedule again as they were running behind again. So I had to go in again even later, showed up at my new appointment time, waited 45 minutes before I even got put in a room, and again told my dress was still not done. My dress was supposed to be done, and what should have been a 30 minute quick pickup, turned into hours later with items that again were supposed to be completed that weren't. They put cups that were way too large in the dress, tacked them in too high that they were visible from the side and front of the dress. They were uncomfortable and left red marks on my skin, when asked if there was anything else we could do to adjust this, they just said "That's just the way our pads are." Luckily I went somewhere else and they were able to change and redo this and agreed with my concerns. This was an absolute nightmare, so stressful and disappointing. There were also several other brides the night of my pickup waiting over an hour past their original appointment time. I could never recommend this place to anyone. read more

We were recommended here by the place who sold my daughter-in-law her dress. We decided to go with them because we had no other ideas as to where to take her dress to altered. They had plenty of time to do her dress. Everything was fine until the end when it was when we needed to have everything done as soon as possible. My daughter-in-law kept telling them that something was not right on an alteration. She was charged an outrageous fee for her alterations which we have paid. We did five visits. Some of those she had to take off work, which is normal, but it was coming to the point where it was a little ridiculous where they could not accommodate her because we were out about a week towards the wedding and she was still working in her job Needed her to be there. The day of the wedding, she realized what part of her dress was not looking right and why she kept complaining about the specific part of her alteration. This was after the fifth or sixth fitting that we had been in there. My advice would be to do your research on alteration place Not just use one that a bridal boutique has suggested especially since she paid over $2000 in alteration fees. read more

This is my first review ever on Yelp because I felt like I had to share my experience. It sucks it has to be a negative review. I'm sorry it's so long, but stick with me. I will say, they get three stars for easy communication (a store number you can text), how the fit of my dress turned out and my tailor I worked with toward the end of my journey there. A few notes right off the bat - You work with a different seamstress/tailor every appointment and they share notes through photos and an iPad. When I asked one of my tailors why they do it this way, she said she didn't know and seemed shocked I asked. I was signed up for 5 appointments, but ended up having 8 or 9. After my 6th appointment, I never saw any of the tailors I worked with again. When I asked what was happening, I was told upper management had come in to take care of things to uphold the quality standards. Which, yay I'm glad you're doing that, but you're saying my wedding dress was being dealt with by multiple people that didn't fit the TIW standards? I knew something was wrong after my second appointment. After my consultation, I showed up for the next round expecting both my side seams and my zipper to be done. My zipper had the removable marker / holes where the pins had been but no one had altered it. I asked my seamstress at the time (a different one than my first appt) why and she said someone must have missed it, but it wasn't a big deal. So then, instead of working on the next piece I just had to re-do those measurements and come in the next week hoping it was done. Further down the road, the Store Manager Alex began popping in to every session to correct my seamstress and I could always feel the tension in the room. I appreciated that she was quality checking everything, but it definitely raised some questions. After all of the other tailors disappeared, I got to work with the woman who did my consultation who was so sweet and very professional. She had been helping out at one of the other stores, so she was gone for a lot of the process. Once she came back, I only worked with her. I wish I had worked with her the whole time. Right when I loved the dress on me from the front, the bodice was uneven in the back so they had to cut the seams while I wore it and readjust it. It was really jarring and I almost started crying watching it get taken apart on me after I loved it. And don't get me wrong, I can be flexible and go with the flow but after my experiences this far I was not feeling good. She did work super hard that day making sure I was happy with it and had me go grab a coffee while she did quick alterations so I wouldn't have to book another appointment. Okay so ending on my pick-up day. I was kind of dreading it. I already started to see pilling on my dress, which I was told was because of the fabric of my dress. Unfortunately after my experience, I had a hard time believing they were being "delicate" with my fabric. Also, I just was ready to get off of the rollercoaster. I went into the back to take photos and I saw their sales goal on the wall and a number next to my name. Maybe hide that from clients? I totally get they're a business and need to make money, but it was uncomfortable when my seamstress immediately tried to upsell me on cleaning/preservation and their day-of go bag. Honestly, she didn't look happy about having to do it. I'm sure she could tell how uncomfortable I was. I really loved working with her as a person, but unfortunately the rest of my experience there makes it impossible to recommend. This was the most stressful part of my wedding planning. I was recommended this place from the bridal shop (LUV bridal) I purchased my wedding dress at. From the moment I called they were so friendly and helpful. With my first appointment, they spent time going over every request, timing expectations and most importantly cost. They are extremely fair with their pricing considering the amount of detail that goes into their work. With my 2 month short window of receiving my dress and my wedding date, I had the pleasure of working with many of the staff members who were all equally patient, understanding and accommodating to my alternation requests with my weekly appointments-- they made me feel like I was part of their family. This establishment took advantage of my 22 year old daughter. Her dress fit her like a glove. We were referred to this store by the bridal shop down the street where she purchased her gown. She was talked into 1800.00 dollars of alterations. Her dress cost 3000.00. Absolutely ridiculous. Prices are very inflated. Help is very rude. They were happy to use my credit card for payment but were not forthcoming when I asked for a detailed outline of the bill as my daughter signed the contract. Interesting they will accept payment from a card that did not match the signer of the contract. I guess they don't care where they receive payment as long as they receive it. Everyone needs to make a living, but when you're gouging someone with ridiculous prices on unnecessary alterations that is full on taking advantage. Do not use this business. I've never left a poor review, but I feel as though future brides need to hear my experience. I was a July 2023 bride, and my journey with TIW began after purchasing two gowns for my ceremony and reception. They were referred to me by the bridal shop where I bought my dresses, and at first, I was happy with their organized approach, including "micro fittings" to ensure a perfect fit. I began my alterations for both gowns in February, allowing TIW six months to complete the alterations. Throughout this process, I attended over nine fittings. I was pleased with how my reception dress turned out, but my ceremony gown was beginning to fit worse than when I purchased it. I raised my concerns, and TIW told me they could solve the issue after paying a very large fee. With it being the week of my wedding, I didn't have any other option but to pay this additional fee with my ceremony dress being far from ready. Just three days before my wedding, I had to take extra time off of work to sit at the TIW studio for six hours to hopefully resolve the problems with my dress. Although grateful for the late-night dedication, I left the TIW studio at midnight with a very poorly fitting dress. The day before my wedding, I decided to seek the help of another tailor who was shocked at the condition of my dress. For a small fee, she fully redid my dress and completed it hours before my ceremony. Fortunately, everything worked out, and my gown fit perfectly after she fixed it. The TIW team is friendly and tries their best to assist brides-to-be. However, this experience was undoubtedly the most stressful part of my wedding planning, and I wouldn't recommend their services. While my reception dress turned out well, the challenges I faced with my ceremony gown were significant, and it was a costly and stressful experience. read more

These ladies are wonderful. As the mother of the bride, I purchased my dress off the clearance rack to be frugal. The downside was that the dress looked like it was made for someone else instead of me. The tailored in white professionals had a plan from the first fitting. They removed the boning and bra cups, detached and then properly reattached the sleeves, and finally, hemmed the multiple layers of skirt, taking part of the cast-off material to create a modesty panel for the bodice. I did not want to look like the opening act in a cabaret! The end result was fantastic. My bargain basement buy had been transformed. Dress alterations are not just for the bride. Moms want to look amazing too. I plan to return to tailored in white after the wedding to have my dress hemmed to a tea length cocktail dress so I can wear it again in the future. Run. This place ruined my dress. They ripped it open on my body at least 5 times. When I was supposed to pick it up, it wasn't ready. Had pilling all over it. Hadn't been pressed, stains, etc. there is a large water stain on the front chest and tear. They never even apologize for the horrible service and many mistakes they made. They had me come over 15 times and promised it would be quality checked and in good shape when I picked up. I had to go back twice on my pick up day and it was ruined. They also have no consideration for your time or budget. I overheard them training staff one fitting and they discuss how much money they hope to bring in each day. Charging up front and then additional charges as you go. Way over priced. They rob you and destroy your dress. The tailors are not trained and just off the street and always a new one. You don't buy a nice dress to have it end up in worse shape before you even wear it. read more

I can't tell you what a positive experience I had with Tailored in White. Their entire team worked tirelessly and lovingly to make sure every last detail of my wedding dress was perfect, from my train to my veil. I loved their fitting process, which involves working on and perfecting one area of the dress at a time, since each change has a chain reaction. This made it so that every inch of the dress fit my body perfectly, as if it was made for me. And they managed to do all this in about a month, which was the amount of time I had between the time my dress arrived and the wedding. I also want to go out on a bit of a limb here and share that I've always had body image issues, and as such, I had a lot of nerves about standing up in front of all of our guests in a form-fitting dress. Yet, the ladies who work at Tailored in White were all so genuine, warm and encouraging that, by my last fitting, I felt not only relaxed but also CONFIDENT in my dress. I cannot recommend their services enough. In fact, I am going to take my wedding dress back to them to get it hemmed and dyed so that I can wear it on a regular basis! read more

Cora & her team are absolutely amazing! I wanted to change the entire back of my dress and they were up for the job. They listened to my wants & educated me about the process along the way. They squeezed me in for extra fittings, on more than one occasion to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. When I had one final freak out before leaving for my wedding, they did absolutely everything they could to make it perfect for me and ease my mind. When I tell you the dress came out stunning....I am not exaggerating. My standard simple dress went from simple to custom & perfect, all because of Cora. BRIDES RUN FAR FAR AWAY from this place. If you are currently having your dress altered here, take your dress, lose your money and find a new seamstress - I am begging you!!! You may end up here like us for 8+ hours of "fittings" the week of your wedding with a dress that's basically ruined... Look at the dates on the other reviews here, we are suspicious that the good reviews are based on people and experiences who no longer work at TIW. The seamstresses here are either incredibly new at their careers, or very unskilled, or both. I had the absolute worst time seeing this company torture my best friend, the bride, over 8+ fittings and 3 failed pickup dates that turned into a never ending nightmare of ripping out seams and boning and frantically trying to fix their mistakes over and over and over again. With each attempt to do what they claimed they could do from the beginning, her dress became more and more butchered and honestly was unsalvageable in my opinion. She accepted defeat two days before her wedding and left with an absolutely UNACCEPTABLY "tailored" dress. Here options are either find a last minute dress online or hope that the photographer can photoshop her awful tailoring after the fact. Did I mention TIW charged her over $1000 at the beginning for what seemed to be simple changes (ones that they either couldn't do, or did so poorly there is bunching and puckering all around the parts they touched), added an extra $300 upcharge mid-way through without the bride's permission and then gaslit her by telling her it was discussed with her (when it 100% was NOT) and then decided to blame the seamstress for not telling her the price, but ultimately said there was nothing they could do to eliminate the the full extra charge...??? On top of that, instead of agreeing with the issues that we pointed out in the process, the seamstress and manager just constantly BLAMED the dress and fabric for their clear mistakes throughout. It was infuriating. I brought up several red flags to the manager, Allie and the seamstress during her 3rd to last fitting. We were fed some insane word salad that "they strive for perfection and are just as committed to it as we are!" and "no worries at all, we will get it done no problem." It wasn't until her 2nd pickup day that Allie changed her tune, became incredibly apologetic and very nice (which we greatly appreciated because I think all of us were almost in tears), opened her eyes to the problem and brought in the owner and expert seamstresses via FaceTime from other branches to DESPERATELY figure out a solution to salvage the dress. Any company that A.) puts a bride through this, B.) cannot fulfill on the services agreed to in a contract and C.) destroys a dress in the process should give a client AT LEAST a 100% refund for the "tailoring work" AND do what any excellent business would do: write the bride a check for her dress that they destroyed. I am begging this company to do both of these things after reading my review. The only silver lining so far is that she didn't have to pay the aforementioned up-charge before taking her dress home... I am appalled and I am heartbroken for my sweet and kind friend. This business should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and held accountable. read more

The state my dress was in on pickup day was completely unacceptable. After 8 appointments, including an added last-minute one a week before the wedding to account for a mistake of theirs, I came to pick up my wedding dress and found pins still in it, places not altered where it should have been, a new bustle point needed and a change needed to the top. They told me they'd fix it and press it, which I appreciated, and I could come back in 30 min. An hour and a half later I was able to get back in the dress and it hadn't been pressed, as promised. The biggest thing throughout the process was that not a single time did a manager apologize to me for the stress or for their mistakes. That would have made all the difference, but it never happened. read more

Just go elsewhere. The staff was very nice and accommodating when it came to scheduling. The micro appts are so time consuming to drive down for a 5-10 min appt. In theory I understand why it was done this way however definitely unnecessary for simple alterations. Sometimes I would arrive and the scheduled work was not completed. Came to pick up my dress and the breast cups were not changed out. Waited for this to be done. They were poorly tacked in on the top only. Not replacing the prior cups. Made for putting the dress on incredibly difficult. The hem was left with little small strings all over the beautiful lace and the appliqué was applied unevenly. When I looked it over ... I thought oh my God how am I going to fix this. I paid nearly 1000.00 for very minor changes to the original gown. I ended up finding a specialist in northern Colorado to essentially redo and fix everything that was done and spent a fraction of the cost. Just grateful my beautiful dress was not ruined beyond repair. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

to be honest, I have contemplated reviewing for a long time and felt like "maybe it's my fault my dress didn't turn out the way I wanted it to" NO! this really was a terrible experience, I spent SO much money, to have my dress turn out terribly. My dress was $ 3,000+ and I spent that much on having it altered. I had to drive an hour to Denver like twice a week to get alterations done and it was barely ready two days before my wedding. EVEN THOUGH I had been going for a couple of months, twice a week. AND they promised it'd be finished like a week before my wedding. Honestly it would have been fine, if the dress turned out perfect, but at the end they just were rushing and it looked so bad and didn't fit at all. Every time I was there, I had a different person looking at the dress and making adjustments. the communication on their part was terrible.
