They did an excellent job on the hem. You would never even be able to tell they were altered. Length is perfect. I had a bad experience once (at a different place) which has made me nervous about hemming. They nailed it and were extra diligent on this piece. Had a top notch experience here with both alterations and dry cleaning. I needed a velvet gown altered for NYE. It was a little trickier than a hem (although that needed to be done - I'm only 5'5"!). The dress was a bit too big in the waist and needed to be taken in as well. They were able to do all of it in a week. My dress fits so much better now, and there is little danger of me tripping over the hem in my 4" heels. But not zero danger, because I am a klutz. Husband realized that his tux needed to be cleaned as well! For some reason, the tux hasn't left storage in over 3 years, since we moved to Denver and started only wearing hiking pants. Would they be able to do a quick turnaround on a three piece tux dry clean? Yes! And now, a dress that fits and a tux that is clean will be coming with us to our fancy pants Chicago NYE event. I had a really horrible experience here that I feel I need to share with others. I called and spoke with a lady and asked if I could have measurements taken for a custom suit being made for my wedding. She told me they can do it no problem and come in later. I came to the shop a few days later and was greeted by a man. I explained the conversation I had and even saw the lady I spoken to and explained to him I was ready to have my measurements taken. The man responded by saying "We only do men" to which I was not following. I again explained the situation and he said again "we will only take men." Keep in mind, I've had measurements taken here before and I am a female. So again I explained the conversation I had with his colleague and the simple thing I was trying to have done. I asked if the measurements weren't being taken because "I am a female?" and the man shrugged his shoulders and replied "yes, we only take men". So to say I was upset and shocked would be putting it lightly. I would not recommend this place whatsoever as they were extremely rude and blatantly sexist. read more

$56 (does not include tip, btw - don't feel like you have to tip on the tip line) to take in a dress with a liner and to replace a zipper that was mine. This seems ridiculously pricey but they did a good job. I can't complain about their quality of work. It wasn't perfect, because they had an ideal of how the fit should look on me vs. what I really wanted. I had a tuxedo suit dress (sounds cool b/c it is) that I wanted to look fitted vs. boxy - but they insisted on a more relax fit. We came to a happy medium on it and I was desperate for the fit to work. U would be surprised how hard it is to find a tailor in the area! Things to really note: 1) Pay before you even get the product produced. Annoying and no AMEX. 2) Always ask how much it is beforehand. The prices varies and you can negotiate the price and timeline. Annoying - I know. 3) Service is meh - but one of the ladies is better than the other. The service is also worst if you are ethically part Korean like me and don't speak it. The shit talking begins in Korean. I probably got asked my entire life story, resume, and marriage prospects in a 10m fitting in front of other clients. The lady with the tattooed eyebrows told me I was too focused on my career or I wasn't skinny enough for a good Korean husband. How about I don't want a Korean husband and I'm not grossly skinny b/c I like to lift weights! #girlsthatlift So - I'm paying you for a service - not to be my old asian great aunt. I digress. I had a good experience here previously, but took a dress in this week for a slight alteration (something to secure my dress so it wasn't so "chesty"). I felt very rushed in trying it on and didn't really understand what they suggested for alteration, but because they did a great job before, I trusted it would be fine. I was charged $20 and it took 4 days, and was pretty upset when I tried it on. It doesn't lay flat or stay secured. Now I have to remove what they sewed in the day of my event and figure something else out. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I've been coming here consistently for over a year. Most recently I had them fix a leather skirt I have that was ripping where the zipper seam is. Picked it up and wore it about two weeks later. Next day the same seam was ripping again so I brought it back. They tried to make me pay for it again but I told them I had just picked it up from them and only wore it once. They tried to argue with me saying I must have taken it somewhere else as it didn't look familiar. I told them I would show them my bank statement and asked if they can check their computer. Finally they checked which confirmed that yes I had taken it to them. They then berated me and shoved their fingers in my face saying no freebies and no guarantees! They started saying something aggressively to each other in their language and finally agreed to fix it but gave me such a hard time about it. When I went for pick up it was the same sort of dialogue. I would have just preferred a no over all of this. Won't be back. Terrible customer service. read more

I dropped off a pair of uniform trousers to be taken in because they were a little big. The lady who helped me was very nice and helpful. She asked a lot of questions. With the information I gave her, she was able to suggest a better, more custom alteration. I didn't go with everything she suggested but I applaud her effort. Where we lose a star is that the price was a little high. I came here because the reviews on Yelp were great. After I got my trousers back, I tried them on and they were a little looser than expected. So for the price and fit, I thought it was a little high. But overall, I trust the ladies that work here do an honest job. I will try to bring back some other pieces and give an updated review. read more

Gave this place many chances. They typically do an ok job, not great, but charge an absolute premium. They regularly misplace items and have to scramble around trying to find your stuff. This last time they gave me a pick up time, and when I got there they said my stuff was not done and to come back. I came back at the new time and again they gave me yet a third time to come back. I am so frustrated with my experience here. I brought in two bridesmaids dresses - one of which I needed to close the slit on it as to not show leg. He doesn't speak English so it's very hard to get my point across. I asked him to close the slit more and he simply said "no." I asked if I could put some extra fabric there and got a "no." What am I paying for? Not only that, he charged 100$ just to take in my other dress. I ended up not even altering that one because the dress wasn't even worth 100$. My Vegas dress needed some major modifications (and by modifications I mean making it waaaay shorter). I used to go to a lady on 64th and Sheridan, but I always thought she overcharged me. So thanks for my Yelpers I decided to try A&M. The store is easy to find, a little bit east of 38th and Sheridan, located on the south-side of 38th. There is plenty of parking in the rear of the building. I couldn't help to notice all the dogs barking next door due to the dog grooming business. I feel so bad that she has to hear them bark all day! Mia- I assume the shop owner? Was very nice and professional. She mentioned my dress had some (insert alterations lingo here) so that made my dress a littler harder to alter. My bill came out to $20.00, not sure if that was high or not. Overall, I picked up my dress a week later and it seemed like good quality work. I will put the work to the test when I'm dancing like there is no tomorrow in Vegas! read more

Brought expensive suit pants in to be shortened and they completely changed the hem - it's no longer an invisible/blind hem, but a simple hem like you'd see on a t-shirt. It does not look good / professional, and doesn't match the original hem on the garment - not sure why they would have changed it without asking me first. After a positive first encounter, I send 2 bridesmaids dresses to be hemmed. I tried them on with my heels and they were pinned at a reasonable and flattering length. Upon picking the dresses up they were both MUCH SHORTER than what was agreed upon. The weddings are in the coming months and I'll have to scramble to repurchase both, not to mention the ridiculous cost of purchasing these dresses TWICE as they are completely ruined. The damn website takes you to a different tailor in Evergreen. Whoever answered the phone there couldn't speak English (or English that's understandable in an English-speaking country). But, hey, at least the 303 number gets answered. Repeated calls to the 720 number gets a damn infuriating busy signal. Just the kind of half-ass operation that gets 5 stars on Yelp. This tailor is amazing! I called ahead of time with my weird request to tailor two little boy's jackets to fit my dog who is always super cold on hikes! He was very nice and friendly with my dog and I. I wasn't sure how the jackets would come out based on how he was marking pin spots, but I was wrong to doubt his method as I jackets are a perfect fit now. I couldn't be happier! They are so well tailored that my dog can move freely and is now warm. I will take all of my alterations here from now on! read more

The ladies here were all very friendly and honest. I had a coat altered to fit better and couldn't be happier. They were a day early and I felt the price was reasonable. I committed a cardinal sin and had a carhartt coat altered to fit me better. Many say they are supposed to fit loose and the coat still does. However, I was swimming in a medium coat as a slim guy. I can still work in it and have full freedom of movement. This place will be my go to place for alterations going forward. Thank You! read more

I am so impressed I had an emergency sizing issue after losing a bunch of weight. They recommended I not waste my money sizing one that was way to large, ad then did an amazing same day turnaround on another suit which was closer in size to me. They were friendly and professional. I was visiting my sister in Aurora and we were going to a family wedding when last minute there was a HUGE whole in my dress.... the wedding was the day after so I went in and talked to one of the ladies there and she was really kind about everything and said she would have it done by the next morning. Mia is the best! I first used her for a bridesmaid dress alteration, and then for my fiance & all of his grooms suit measurements and adjustments. Instead of renting, we bought suits through an online tailor at about the same cost. Only two guys needed any adjustments, mainly because they lost weight or wanted a slimmer, more custom fit. The bottom line with Mia is that she is totally flexible, and she has a sense of humor. She will explain how it is supposed to be fitted to meet standard trends or the designer's intent, but if you still want something different, she'll do it. She's there most days til 6:30 and you don't ned an appointment. While we were there on May 4th, a guy popped in & said, "Mia, don't hate me..." he needed his pastel pink dockers hemmed that day to be ready for the Kentucky Derby party the next day. Not a problem, she rolls her eyes. We love you, Mia. You make alterations addicting. I have one arm slightly shorter than the other due to a childhood injury, and am tmpted to take all of my outerwear in for a slight hem. But anyway, I needed a tailor for my jeans that I buy because I love to find a great deal on designer jeans, but since I'm only 5'2" I need like a foot lobbed off of them. 3 pairs of pants, 1 jeans - 2 dress pants hemmed = $30.00 and they are awesome! Not too high up but just perfect with small heels and she's open until 6:30pm so I c an actually get there after work.
