Even with Covid, they were very sweet and accommodating, gave me excellent advice regarding how we should take a few things in (the top front/back of my dress was ALL illusion paneling and I wanted to be able to lift my arms) and they really knocked it out of the park. They took excellent care of me and my dress was PERFECT. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at the pricing as well. I purchased my wedding dress from Little White Dress and, on their recommendation, was referred to Donna Beth Creations for alterations. They even scheduled an on-site consultation at Little White Dress, where I assumed I'd get a quote. Instead, before any work began, Donna Beth required a $1200 payment upfront via Zelle. She presented herself as "the best in the business," so I went ahead with it, trusting the recommendation. I only saw Donna Beth once, during that initial consultation at Little White Dress. After paying, all my subsequent check-up fittings took place at her studio in Cherry Creek, where she wasn't present. Instead, I was handed off to her assistants. This was disappointing, especially since my alterations were relatively simple--just taking in the dress and shortening it slightly. When it came time to pick up the dress, none of the changes had been done correctly. With only three days until I was scheduled to leave for my destination wedding in Cabo, my dress was still too long and about an inch too big in the waist. After they reassured me they'd work overnight, I returned the next day, but the fit was still off. I ended up spending three hours in her shop while her assistants & seamstress kept running the dress back & forth to the back making rushed adjustments. The experience was stressful and disheartening. At one point, I was even calling other alteration specialists for help out of sheer frustration. It was clear Donna Beth was more focused on an upcoming runway show than on her customers. In the end, my dress was wearable, and my wedding in Cabo was beautiful, but my experience with Donna Beth Creations was the only part of my wedding process that brought me to tears. After spending almost $900 on alterations, I was very disappointed when they told me at my last appointment to use double sided tape to keep my straps in place. I was recommended to this salon from other people from work that used her. Once I got there, I was surprised because I always felt like I was a burden and that I needed to hurry up so they could go tend to someone else. My last appointment, I expressed that I felt the bust was too big and my straps were moving too much. It was at that time I was told to use double sided tape. You could see the pads into my dress in SO MANY of my wedding photos. I also tried to keep my shoulders shrugged as I felt I was one move away from a nip slip at any point. My last appointment was also disappointing because they told me to get into my dress and didn't come back for 30 MINUTES. Then they ignored my concerns and I was left with a dress that was constantly falling off. I'm giving 3 stars because my dress was wearable and they didn't lose anything. Without asking what needed to be done or any questions s for that matter, I was quoted $750 and was told that's how much standard alterations are and $1200 for customizations. (My dress was $1500) Well after calling several other shops and looking online, alterations are anywhere from $250 -$600 across the board everywhere. And this place starts at $750?? If you wanna pay that then this is the place for you. I'm sure they do great work. Better than others ???? Considering how expensive my alterations were, I expected everything to be done correctly. I spent a separate $400 on sleeves alone and my sleeves bunched up and fell on my wedding day--they were also cut too short. The entire wedding industry is a racket. I stand by that statement, even after purchasing a dress and having it altered by a really awesome tailor. But you know what they say, don't hate the player, hate the game. Donna Beth is as good as it gets. At least in my experience working with alterations people over the years. This shop specializes in wedding attire -- bridal gowns especially -- but it looks like they also offer bridesmaid dresses, veils, jewelry, pretty much all the necessities for a formal wedding. The gals at Donna Beth originally took my measurements before I purchased a dress. It was a $25 fee that was paid up front, and that $25 was credited to my account for alterations made at a later time. When I purchased my gown from another store in Denver, an estimated delivery time was given and all I had to do was call Donna Beth and schedule a series of fittings before the wedding. Yes, it's a series of fittings, usually about four. Normally a size 4-6 in regular clothes, my wedding dress was ordered in a size 10. Needless to say there were some areas that were too big and too long. Donna Beth and her team took care if it like pros. They've seen just about every designer and gown and, as a result, are familiar with the look each bride is trying to achieve. They asked other important questions too, like the location of the festivities, so your dress matched the venue and time of year. For my gown, I had cups added to the bust and a bustle on the train. The DB team did just what I wanted and my dress looked lovely on my wedding day! I ended up getting quite a bit of dirt and wine on my gown, and it's currently being cleaned at a professional shop in Denver as well, but that's another story altogether. If you're spending $$ or more on a fancy dress, might as well go the full mile and go to a local expert. Alterations ended up being about $800, but that's not nearly as much as my dress cost from the shop and it's one of the key pieces to a fancy wedding. I would wholeheartedly recommend Donna Beth for your special day dress needs. read more

They pre-schedule your appointments on the first call which is helpful to know how the timing for the alterations will work out. Their space is very comfortable with large changing rooms so you can move around in your dress to make sure your dress fits like a glove. Donna Beth was recommended to me when I bought my dress at Luv Bridal in Denver. I decided to go with this seamstress since she has experience working on designer gowns with lots of lace/beading and I just didn't want to risk any issues with my alterations, even if it meant driving up to Denver (I live in the Springs) for my appointments. When I ordered my dress from Luv, I had already paid for a custom length dress (I'm 5'1), but I needed to take in the sides, add an S curve under the booty, get the dress bustled, and take in the hips. I was pretty shocked that the cost of these alterations would be another $500 on top of the $150 I already paid for the hem/custom length, I thought it would be more in the range of $200-300. Anyway, I decided to go with Donna Beth since she was recommended to me by Luv. I went to all of my fittings by myself, and during my first appointment, I felt pretty comfortable and welcome. When I went back for my second appointment, I was horrified to find that my dress had been taken in to the point that it wouldn't zip up the last 3.5-4 inches (when before it was loose). I was told not to worry (but of course I did since my wedding was only a few weeks away), and to come back for my final fitting on the evening of Monday 3/13. I expressed my concerns because I was flying out for our wedding on Wednesday 3/15 (less than 48 hours later, and I live in the Springs and wasn't looking forward to driving to Denver 3 days in a row), and needed everything to be perfect. Again, I was told not to worry. When I went in for my 3rd and final fitting, Donna enlisted the help of another girl to zip me in to my dress.. again I was worried it was way too tight, since she couldn't zip it herself, and I felt squished and like I could barely breathe. Donna assured me that the dress would loosen up over time, which thank goodness it did! Overall, I was happy with the final outcome of the alterations - but the stressful part in the middle where I was left panicking about whether or not this dress would zip up on my final appointment (a day and a half before I flew out for my wedding) added extra, unnecessary stress during an already SUPER stressful time! The price of the alterations and the added stress of having the dress taken in too far are my reasons for not giving a higher rating. Otherwise, I do think she did a great job with the alterations to my dress and I do believe she pays great attention to detail. read more

I went to Donna Beth off of a recommendation from a family friend. Overall I am pleased with my experience! The biggest concern I had was about their communication - at one point while my dress was in their hands the Donna Beth website was down and phones were out of order. However, I knew my wedding dress was in good hands and am very pleased with the outcome. My dress was off the rack and had long sleeves and a very long train which was pretty costly, but paying upfront for all the alterations allowed me to feel comfortable asking for any little tweaks or concerns I had about the dress. In the end, it fit like a glove and was altered beautifully. The dress felt sturdy as if it was reconstructed in good quality and Donna Beth was so kind during every visit I had with her. She asked all the right questions and gave me a huge sense of security that the dress was really perfect. One other (not-so-great) thing to note was that the day before my wedding I noticed that my crepe wedding dress had a faint yellow stain around the top of the dress. It was hardly noticeable unless you were pretty close and looking for it. I am not sure when the stain first developed, so I cannot remove any stars because of this. I did not notice it in my final fitting when picking up the dress and don't know if it was from window condensation in my car or something bizarre like that, so maybe just a little more warning would have helped? It had no negative impact on my wedding, though I could see how for some people it would be quite an upsetting thing to happen. read more

The experts at this business made me feel comfortable and beautiful in my gown, and I felt their prices were fair ($$) compared to other alterations shops I surveyed. My dress already fit perfectly (sheer magic, buying off the sale rack), the alterations I needed were: getting dress hemmed, taking in a portion of the shoulder/sleeve (custom fit for a different bride previously, hence, sale rack for me), and adding buttons on top of the zipper up the back. I came in here VERY stressed, and left with a big smile on my face. I ordered my dress from Luv Bridal, and it originally had a corset back. I am not a big fan of the lace up that accompanies corset backs so I asked if it could be made with a zipper instead. They said yes, but that I would have to order the dress a size up in order to compensate. Imagine my surprise when my dress arrived in the size that originally fit me like a glove, which meant without a corset it wouldn't even zip. I was pretty upset, as it was too late to order another gown so I just made my first fitting appointment and hoped for the best. The minute you walk into her space you feel special. It is beautifully decorated and the lighting is romantic and soft. Her assistant will greet you right when you step off of the elevator, and they had picked up my dress from Luv and had it all ready for me to try on in a large, gorgeous dressing room. I had almost wished I brought my friends to this instead of to pick out the dress because the studio was so gorgeous. I had drank a lot of champagne during the picking of the dress and had a great time, but because of my state I never really had a chance to fall in love with the gown. The lighting where I had tried it on had been harsh, so the pictures I had of it didn't look the way I remembered seeing it. In Donna Beth's studio, with her soft lighting and constant compliments, I finally fell in love with my dress. I looked beautiful in it, and with her and her assistant tag teaming the zipper they got it to zip and reassured me it only had to be taken out a small amount, which was definitely doable so not to stress. They helped me pick a bustle style and were just amazing the entire time. I left with a big smile on my face, a HUGE sense of relief, and really in love with my gown, which was a feeling I had been waiting to have. I am so glad that I came here, and I am so excited to see the final product. I will update you guys when I have pictures post-wedding, but that will be quite a while and I wanted to write a review while the first visit was still fresh in my mind. Customer service provided by Donna Beth was horrible. I can't speak to her abilities as a seamstress (as many of the reviews have already reflected this), but if having her respond to your text messages/calls is important to you - then I would run far. My first occurrence with her was through several texts and calls which she did not respond or call me back. I sent one last text stating that I was referred to her from where I bought my dress, Brilliant Bridal, and was a bit bothered by her lack of response, but still wanted to try and work with her because she was referred to me. She immediately responded back to apologize and stated that she had a family emergency she had to attend to. So I understood and kept her at top of mind when I needed to schedule my 1st fitting 3 weeks later. So 3-4 weeks later, I texted and called her, and again...no response or call back after I left messages for her. I've come to realize that she may just offer terrible customer service. It doesn't build a lot of trust when you need to have your wedding dress done by her. I'd go elsewhere to save yourself the hassle and heartache - there is much better competitors (based on some of the reviews I've read) with far superior customer service. read more

Here's why: 1) Donna Beth, herself, is right in the trenches with everyone else. Measuring, sewing, laughing and talking with every client that comes through the door. She's so reassuring, compliment oriented, and extremely genuine. 2) The work is amazing - and I'm pretty sure they know it! I brought in my dress and wasn't sure what to expect or how I'd like my train bustled, and she just took over and worked her magic! The length was perfect, top fit like a glove after they tightened it, and she bustled my dress in 3 different places! She did that so the lace on my dress was visible and perfect! 3) The staff is so friendly, sweet and nice. All were so interested in my big day, asked plenty of questions and made sure I felt super comfortable with everything. Also, they are so fast! I was not really given an option for alterations from Little White Bridal, timing of wedding aside, so I never second guessed the work of Donna and team. They were very friendly and helpful and like others, I really hate to say this, but their work was a complete disaster. For $850+ of alterations when the store purposely measured long, I expected perfection. However when I was given the dress days before my wedding, this was far from the case. The hem was a complete mess, it looked like they cut it in the dark. They "fixed" this by basically holding my dress hostage for 48 hours with no communication and cut the lace at the bottom in half. Absolutely horrified with their work. The way the bustle was tied/ set up, the layers of the dress were uneven on each side and noticeable. During the wedding, not only did I have to pull my dress up all evening, but the bustle broke! I sadly had to have several friends use their hair ties to keep things safe on the dance floor. The place where I bought the dress said that the owner of DBC would be in touch, but I have never heard from anyone. Incredibly disappointing and I would never recommend this alterations place to anyone. In complete disbelief with how careless they are. Do not trust them with your dress.... if I could do it all over again I would not work with them. read more

I was recommended by the girl who helped me with my dress at BHLDN to go to DBC for alterations. She did tell me in advance she's pretty pricey and it could take awhile to get my dress back. Upon emailing them I got a response pretty quickly, with the estimate of how much it would cost. I was all set to make scheduling happen but "Ray" never responded. Thankfully though I'm glad he didn't respond because alterations anywhere from $250-$400 for taking the dress in a bit is STEEP. Obviously getting your wedding dress is VERY exciting but also VERY stressful. Is it going to fit? will it look good? did I pick the right dress? Donna was more than AMAZING, she was wonderful, friendly, relaxing, soothing. Not only did she do an amazing job on my dress, but even after I gained weight before my wedding she was able to make it look perfect! The shop is adorable, located in this old house. Be cautious that parking can suck but that's not her fault. The staff all working here is so friendly! I don't think I stayed longer than 30 minutes here. In an out which is really nice! I expected this place to cost a leg and arm for alternations, but I was willing to pay whatever to make it work, but she was beyond reasonable for pricing! It's a cute shop and everyone is super nice. But you can go somewhere else and get the same quality of work for much cheaper. I spent $800 just in alterations here and my dress was far from perfect. The day of the wedding we used A LOT of adhesive tape to hold the chest down flat because it was super gappy. And we had to pin the straps because they were way too big and slipping down my shoulders. Also, the waist was brought in too much and during pictures one of my clasps broke off because the dress was too tight. I went in for 4 dress fittings before picking up my dress so there was plenty of measuring done. They had my dress for 8 months. It should have been right. I chose this place for alterations because I wanted my dress to be absolutely perfect. But instead I ended up learning a lesson that in dress alterations you don't always get what you pay for. I had a very good experience with my alterations and timeline. Parking was a bit atrocious in Cherry Creek North with construction. I was worried that by the final fitting, it wouldn't quite fit right, but they listened to me and my concerns, and in the end, it was really good.
