I needed a last minute hem and was rejected from multiple tailors closer to me, but the tailor here was kind and told me to come in. Despite clearly having a lot of work ahead of him with other clients' clothes, he willingly took on my hem job with expertise-- I had jeans that required special hemming and pants that were more straightforward-- he could tell me the difference between each garments need and did a great job with both. While in the dressing room, another important garment ripped (my own fault!) and without complaint and without charging me a dime, he fixed the additional piece-- all in thirty minutes. I will now 100% drive the extra half hour for all of my tailoring needs moving forward. He did a great job. Excellent customer care. I brought a dress to Cherry Creek Custom Tailor for what should have been a simple hem. During the fitting, I tried the dress on and clearly showed them the length I wanted. Unfortunately, the dress was hemmed significantly shorter than requested. Even worse, the hem was done incorrectly. The tailor did not properly measure around the entire dress before cutting, resulting in a hem that is visibly uneven and crooked on the sides and back. Any experienced tailor knows that body shape, garment construction, and fabric can affect how a dress hangs, which is why careful measurements should be taken all the way around before cutting. As the saying goes, "measure seven times, cut once." What was most disappointing was the owner's response. Rather than taking responsibility for the poor workmanship, he became defensive and told me they do not measure all the way around and "just cut." He offered a free hem on a future garment, which was not an acceptable solution given that this dress was permanently damaged. I would never trust them with another piece of clothing. A proper resolution would have been a full refund for the alteration and compensation for the dress that was ruined. Instead, I was met with excuses, an aggressive attitude, and a refusal to acknowledge obvious mistakes. I chose to support a local business instead of taking the dress to Nordstrom, where I've had amazing alterations. Unfortunately, that decision turned out to be a costly mistake. read more

This shop does a "good enough" job of altering to the things I asked for, but I will say the price and initial meeting to figure out what needs to be tailored were not great. When I brought in my clothing to get tailored, the gentlemen working there marked up my clothing with a ball point pen before I even decided I was going to use the service so I was stuck working with them or leaving with marked up clothing. The price itself was a little too expensive for me, and I would've left if I didn't have clothing that was marked up the way he had done so. When I picked up my clothing, everything technically matched what I asked for but there were a lot of loose strings hanging from the skirt and pants that looked messy. read more

This was truly the most horrific customer experience of my life! I am getting married in 2 weeks and one of my bridesmaid's dresses was legit destroyed in this shop! Here's the thing: I don't raise my voice or curse at humans (even when we are in strong disagreement) because that's simply not how conflicts are resolved. I went in to show him the horrific handprint stains all over my bridesmaid's gown and he took no ownership, raised his voice at me, cursed, and refused to even look at the gown. I also videoed the conversation because I knew it would be challenging (if you'd like the video, I'm happy to send along), but here's the most upsetting part. After he told me that there was "dog shit" on my bridesmaid's dress (which wasn't from him, of course), I let him know that I wasn't going to curse or raise my voice at him. He told me to "call President Trump" and told my mother and I we looked "like a couple of Trumpsters." He was belligerent with the wrong women. I let him know that being called a "Trumpster" was worse than being called the B OR C word and I was horribly offended. The only comic relief was that the only thing my mother could say in return was "Well, You look like a Trumpster, too." Apparently, "trumpster" has replaced "a hole" these days. Who in Denver votes for Trump, anyway? And if they did, they'll probably avoid your greasy shop now, too. I brought a new pair of suit pants in for a wedding to be tailored. Never worn. The owner made adjustments and when i came to pick them up, the pants still felt tight, but the owner assured me that the fit was good. My first ever day wearing these pants, they ripped alongside the seam all the way from the zipper to the back of the waist, through the crotch. Mind you, this happened when I was sitting down to begin eating at a wedding. I brought this complaint to the owner and he deflected all blame, from the sewing to the consultation, to the conversation we had when I picked up the pants. I came in only 5 days before having to leave the country for my sister's wedding and Haan (spellcheck) was so kind and took on my dress to be altered. My dress needed serious changes and they had it done perfectly within a few days. I had then asked 2 days prior to leaving if I can add my son's blazer to be fitted as it was too big on him - they also accepted and made it fit perfectly! There was one man working there that was incredibly rude and disrespectful! I went in to see if they could fix a small tear in my ski pants and I simply asked if they could fix it a certain way. Instead I was met with anger and hostility from one of the male workers for when asking. I'm guessing he's the owner because he told another woman working there to shut up and that she didn't know what she was talking about when she tried to butt in and help me. After basically acting like a man child throwing a temper tantrum, he then waked away from me and ignored my presence. Hamdi is the best tailor I have ever worked with. I am not a handsome man and I have no right to wear nice clothes in public or where people may be eating. Yet, after picking up my clothing from Hamdi I feel like a million dollars. I like to wear expensive suits, coats and trousers, and I would never consider bringing them anywhere else to have them tailored. Hamdi has been a tailor for many, many years, and has worked for some of the large names in the bespoke industry as well. He is more than a tailor, he is an artist with fabric. He knows his stuff. I even bought a few new suits off of Ebay, and Hamdi was able to show me some of the details that proved that they were authentic and first quality. What is your appearance worth? There are much cheaper places to get your tailoring done. There are places that will get your clothes to you much quicker. But for my money and time, the "finished" look that only comes from attention to detail from the initial fitting all the way through the final snip of the seam is well worth a visit to Hamdi. And whenever I have been in a rush, Hamdi has been able to accommodate me. Five stars, well earned through a great relationship of many years. read more

Dropped off a hole tattered shirt and they gave me a number of options on how to fix. "Zig zag? Maybe we can build a little pattern here to mask the tear. What do you think?" Prices are very reasonable. Service is fast. It's certainly worth it if you have a little hole that's slowly starting to tear your favorite shirt apart from repeated washing. I always have to alter my pants because I am short, and they always make my jeans and pants look great with a gently sloping hem that looks completely natural and not like I just hacked 4 inches off of my jeans. Plus I brought them a vintage 70s suede coat with a torn pocket and they repaired it so beautifully that you can't even tell it was torn, plus they told me they reinforced the other pocket (FOR FREE) because they could tell it was starting to wear. SATISFIED! I took a very complicated and expensive, floor length bridesmaid dress into this tailor. The dress needed to be taken in 1 size, shorten a strap, fit the bust, fix a crooked hem and cut off a train. The tailor took his time in examining the dress and figuring out the best fit for me. I was only in there for 20 minutes but left feeling confident they could handle the job because of how knowledgeable they were when speaking to me about my dress. He noticed things I hadn't and explained how they planned on fixing everything. I picked it up a week later and it looks and fits perfectly! They did a great job on a very complicated dress and at a reasonable price. The customer service was great! I felt like a regular and a very important customer, even though it was my first time in. When I went back to pick up the dress, they remembered me and were very gracious and made sure the dress fit to my liking. They are true perfectionists! The price is very reasonable for the superior product and workmanship and at times, I have been surprised by how low the price has been on certain work I have had done. They may charge a little more than others, but their work is far more superior than any other tailor and they also understand fashion and provide very nice suggestions. In retrospect, the dress I bought may not have been the right dress for me, but Cherry Creek Alterations made the dress fit me like a glove. Came here for my wedding dress alterations. Left feeling like a princess! I wish I could get all of my clothes custom fit by these guys. I came for several fittings. Each one was a wonderful experience. My dress was very intricate, having a lace overlay. We took in the hips and added a bustle. The crew here got so excited every time I walked in and they made a huge hub-bub over my dress. Coming to these fittings alone, it felt good to have an objective opinion on the way my dress looked best. I love this place. A friend recommended it to me, and I've never looked back. I've brought in a bunch of various clothing items to be altered in the past several years, and I've never been disappointed. - Jeans hemmed perfectly (with or without the original hem - your choice), and if you're like me and you have them mark the length while you're barefoot - and then lo and behold they are actually too short after you put on any pair of pants - they will do whatever they can to let out the hem as much as possible to give you back some length (at no charge). - A sleeveless shift dress opened up at the armholes so you don't have that dreaded "chicken nugget" look - perfect. - A bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding - taken in pretty much everywhere due to my future sister in law ordering the dress 2 sizes too big - was perfect, including the train being cut and shaped. I will admit that their work is a little pricey, but you honestly get what you pay for. And while I believe they can accommodate rush orders, they just keep getting busier and so I like to give them as much time as possible. All in all, highly recommend. read more

I trusted this dry cleaning and alterations place with my wedding rehearsal dress and several other wedding items. I needed the dress to be hemmed on the bottom and steps shortened--when I came in to pick up the dress before my rehearsal dinner, the hem on the bottom was lopsided and they only shortened one shoulder strap, causing the other to slip off my shoulder. **When I expressed that I would like the dress to be fixed for my wedding, this man who apparently owns the shop suddenly started started yelling at me and got very close to me and my mother while cussing at us that we don't appreciate his work. He also kept mocking me with weird pet names while approaching me and yelling (sweetie pie, little girl, honey, etc). It was a frightening, creepy, and awful experience--I would NOT recommend this place for anyone, let alone women. Whoever the man is that owns this place is crazy and awful to women. read more

I needed a zip to be replaced on my favorite winter jacket and this place will never get my business as the man who greated me was insulting in the way he greated me. He wanted to "show me how the zip works". What? After I told him that his comment was a bit insulting when the zip is obviously broken (a tooth is missing), he litterally told me to "go somewhere else, there are plenty of tailors around". Be aware! I needed have an evening gown floor length hemmed to floor length and some other alterations made including removing two pieces of material and adding a matching (the key word is matching) "swoosh" to one side of the front of the dress (the original design was asymmetrical). The man running the place talked with me at drop off and assured me they could what I wanted. The cost was over $200 - prepaid. They did not match the existing "swoosh". After 2 1/2 weeks and two attempts, the second side of the dress remained completely different looking than the original, loose swoosh. The altered side was tight to the dress and was shorter that the material on the opposite side. This mistake was on top of the dress being hemmed too short - not floor length, but about 3/4" from the floor. The guy place refused to listen to why I was so upset - just kept saying he thought what they did with the material was more "interesting" and that the hem was where it should be, to make sure I didn't trip! The dress is now at another tailor and I am hoping to have it repaired to a wearable condition. read more

Lack of trust. Totally ok paying for quality. Their work is great. That being said, I paid $140 for having two suit jackets taken in, just the waist, and a hem on a pair of pants. When I went to pick them up, I asked what suit jackets cost to be taken in since I have additional jackets that need some work. I was told $40 for the sides. I then asked why I paid $140 and I couldn't get a straight answer. He had the receipt and the tailored clothes in hand yet he couldn't tell me why.
