I dropped off a dress and gave them 5-6 weeks to complete it. When I called 3 weeks in to get an update they hadn't started in my dress and gave me a different price $20 over what I was told when I dropped it off. When I went to pick it up today apparently they don't take cards of any sort. You have to Venmo. And the woman asked me to put a "smiley face" for the description of the money transfer. Something is screaming tax fraud to me. Which is really none of my business. If this place was smart, they would provide their services for significantly less price than surrounding tailors. Then, the tax fraud would make more sense haha Anyway- not going back here. The location is difficult to find and it's definitely sketchy business dealings going on. read more

I received a king size duvet cover that had a tear in it. I took it to a local alterations place who said it needed to be re-weaved and they recommended I call AB Tailoring. I did, they said they did indeed to re-weaving on duvet covers, I dropped it off, and within 5 days of dropping off, the duvet cover was completed and looks fantastic. Excellent service, excellent work, good prices (cash or check only), timely service. Watch out for the parking lot, though - it's super small and not many spaces to park in. read more

I have a vintage wool sweater knitted by my mother 45 years ago. It obviously has great sentimental value. It had two small holes to repair and the button holes needed to be reduced in size. I called numerous tailors and knitting shops to see if they would repair the sweater. None would try. AB did the work for $30. My friend Charmaine K. recommended this alterations to me due to her positive previous experiences at the location. I had a bridesmaid's dress that needed to be hemmed and the straps taken in. I was quoted by David's Bridal for a similar price (slightly more expensive) than AB's, but David's Bridal made me feel like I was inconveniencing them with a "Rush" that was 2 weeks out. I grew up in Asia and we get alterations done for cheap and quick. Less than a week's turn around is not a rush, not to mention 2 weeks. However, I brought my dress here and the nice lady was able to accommodate my needs. She did a really amazing job, she initially quoted me the Thursday before the wedding, I asked for a day early, and she was able to get it to me a day earlier than that with no additional charge. I was impressed with her work. I sew, but chiffon is a tough fabric to hem and make pretty. I will always bring my stuff back here now if my mom is not around when I have alterations needs. These people are incredibly rude. I dropped off a sweater yesterday and the person took a while to come out after I rang the bell, then was holding her phone on speaker, did not say a single word to me, banged on the claim slip for me to fill out myself, and left without telling me when my sweater will be ready. I came here once before and they were not open during their stated hours (which start at 11, not 10 as advertised), so I had to come back to pick up my items. They were quite rude that time as well and I swore I wasn't going to be back, but they did a nice job and I thought I'd give them another chance. My bad. I will not be back. read more

It is with tears of joy that I am writing this review. My favorite cashmere hoodie had been put away properly last fall in the Lane cedar chest I got for graduation. To my horror, when I retrieved this most precious piece of clothing I own, it had moth holes!!!! There were two holes together making it look like a very large one in the middle of the back; it broke my heart to see it. I checked with Yelp and found several great places in California but nothing Yelped in Denver. Do not despair like I did Denver because we have a fabulous reweaving magician who not only repaired the holes in the back but gave me one extra repair on the bottom ribbing. She charged $20.00/hole and I had asked that she fix the two on the back; I said I could fix the ones that were not as noticeable. Y'all, you cannot even tell where the holes were from the right side of the garment. Our magician not only does reweaving but alterations and tailoring. She even makes costumes from her native Turkey. But I will always think of her as the Patron Saint of Moth Holes. PS: Because Cook street had so many new homes built within the block the address was changed to 165; I have requested an address change. I had 3 days left before I was scheduled to fly to Los Angeles and take a stand as a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding...and I still hadn't altered the dress that was 3 sizes too big. OH NO! I stopped in here on a Monday afternoon in May with the dress, told the seamstress my due date, and prayed that she could come through in time. Fortunately, she was up to the task, put me in the dress, pinned me up, and sent me on my way. She told me the dress would be ready by Wednesday (hallelujah!) and would cost $75 to alter. THE NEXT DAY I got a message on my phone saying that the dress was ready. I zoomed over to the shop to pick up my perfectly altered garment, paid the $60 (since when is the actual price of a service ever cost less than the estimate?) and flew off to California to be with my BFF. She just repaired a $1600 D&G suit that had a rip in it from a wild weekend, I still cant find where it was, & it was torn bad. Her prices are insanely cheap for the quality of work she does. It would have cost me 3x as much if I had it fixed in NYC. I even take my jeans there to get the bottoms hemmed for less that any place in Boulder. As far as the quality of what you bring to her she is very honest about that too, if you bring in something cheaply made she will probably say why bother? read more

Wow thank the lord for AB Tailoring. I can't believe I didn't go here sooner. I kick myself sitting in my slacks that one week ago were so suffocating and accentuating my blubbery butt. After AB, now the pants gently cradle my butt and make it look like a ripe apple. Even more serious, I took them a Polo Ralph Lauren suit that was expensive and my favorite suit. I had a little whole on my back right in the middle. I thought the suit was rendered useless. "Errrrrr nooooooo" I cried. But then I saw these reviews on Yelp. I went to AB. Found AB on Yelp when I had a dress come in on a Thursday that I needed hemmed by Saturday. It was a floor-length chiffon style dress. She did a great job - the dress was the perfect length and was ready Saturday morning - cost $45 (a fee was added for rushing the job) but it was totally worth it. Good to know - cash or check only, no credit cards. I would have given 5 stars but the check I gave her didn't get cashed until two days ago - I paid back on December 14th. I just hate having checks floating around for almost a month. But next time if I run into a similar "rush" type situation I would definitely go back. read more

I worked with AB tailoring for my wedding dress and was very happy. Tailoring a wedding dress is stressful enough but I was also planning ahead for a growing baby bump and, being my first, I had no idea how much room to accommodate. The woman that helped me at AB Tailoring, took one look at me and immediately asked if I was pregnant before I had a chance to tell her. Now, in any other situation that might have thrown me because I was only a few months and had only just started showing, but I thought, this was someone who has an eye for this. To notice that meant she was already assessing my specific body and tailoring needs. I am generally very picky about how I have things altered so I usually have a specific plan in mind, but she made some suggestions and I'm glad I listened. The dress fit me and my baby bump (which grew what seems to be ten sizes in one month) perfectly and even came in at $100 less than the initial quote! I went here for a consultation on work that needed to be done to my wedding dress. I made an appointment explaining that I would like to get an estimate before I committed. The dress was a sample dress so there was some lace repair that needed to be done. She wouldn't let me try the dress on to show the amount of alterations I needed. She barely let me hang it up and show her. The dress is a $5,000 Rivini (which she didn't know of...?) and when I asked for samples of her work, she admitted she had not done lace repair before. Also, the hem is a very tricky hem which needed to be taken out by hand and reapplied by hand. She also didn't know that until I told her. I can't say the quality of work, because I didn't go with her for my alterations. I want someone who knows the value of the lace and work needed without me tell her. She then had the nerve to suggest getting a different dress! Brides beware! Make sure you know exactly what you need before handing over a designer dress to someone who isn't familiar with it... read more

I had been in a bit of a panic because I'd waited too long to get my wedding dress altered. I'd been reading a lot of reviews on Yelp but the 2 places that were recommended weren't places I would dream of leaving my dress. AB Tailoring is located on a quiet street in Cherry Creek. They were recommended to me by a client. I only had 3 weeks to get my dress altered for an England wedding. Nuray was the one who did my alterations and she is simply amazing. She told me that she would need to hand stitch 3 layers by hand. When I picked up the dress (ahead of schedule) the dress was perfect. A B Tailoring Alterations and Reweaving is now the only tailor I'll use again in Denver. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was able to compare various tailors and, due to the amazing and well-deserved reviews I chose A B. I came in with an incredibly expensive Vera Wang formal dress which I couldn't get in my size, they talked me through the process and cost and had the dress finished - without any further alterations needed, a week prior to the estimated pick up date and the quote I was given was $25 more than the actual cost. The dress now fits perfectly and all the adjustments they made are invisible to my sewers eye. I now feel confident and pleased and will be dropping the several other items needing alterations I can't perform myself in the next week. Good to know that the policy is that first time clients are asked to pay in cash, return customers can pay with credit/debit cards. There is PLENTY of parking in the lot behind the building...another plus in the crowded, street-parking world of Cherry Creek. I highly recommend A B for any alterations, repairs and reweaving of knit or crochet items. You will be ecstatic at the finished result! read more

I have never had anything altered/ tailored before now; but I have to say it is a very worthy indulgence and one worth repeating. The owner, Nuray (who's name I embarrassingly was unable to get right at first) is welcoming, and direct and quite patient; she had my jacket done in very short order and at a fair price considering the work that she and her tiny staff put into it. WOW. i have never had anything tailored before and was a little nervous about getting my favorite slacks altered (but after losing 10lbs, i didn't have much choice). i found AB tailoring on yelp (thanks yelpers!) and she did a fantastic job! when i tried them on for her, she very briefly marked them with a bit of chalk and i was skeptical that the fit would be right with such little time spent with me wearing them. but when i came back to get them and tried them on again, the fit was absolutely perfect! i don't have anything to compare the price to as i had never had anything altered, but it seemed reasonable to me (much much less than i would have paid to get new slacks!). service was great. parking is a bit of a pain. i would highly recommend AB tailoring! :) read more

When I came in with new dresses to tailor and to pick up the top the owner unapologetically told me she gave away my blouse. Then she insulted my dress I brought in. In 8 years on Yelp I've never felt the need to provide a poor review. But, certainly if you're a man, you should AVOID. I know some tailors are better at women's clothing, while others are better at men's. So, maybe her talents lie in women's clothing. Took in a couple of suits and pants. I wear suits, etc., everyday, so I generally know what needs to be done. She insisted that she knew better. The suit jackets are unwearable and will either have to be redone or tossed. All of the pants are too short after I told her 5 times I preferred a deep break. There's no break at all. Also, her fees are high. I had tried her because of the high rating. But, I think you can get better service at lower fees. read more

AB does flawless reweaving snd alterations. Only upon really close inspection could I find where she repaired a pair of trousers with a tear in the lower leg. Really outstanding work. Otherwise, I've only had hems and waist/seat alterations to trousers and all were perfect. Next, I have a couple of sport coats that need sleeve alterations and working buttonholes (an alteration few other local tailors will tackle.). I'll update my review with the results. After all this time I can't believe I haven't given a review of AB. I found her after needing a small snag repaired in a expensive suit of mine. Needless to say the hole was fixed and practically unnoticeable. Reweaving is truly an amazing trade and a lost art and she is the only person in Colorado I could find who does it. Since then I've brought in at least five suits to get altered and each time the work has been perfect. She might not be the cheapest nor have the fastest turn around times, but you get what you pay for, the work here is top notch! read more

I'm a little disappointed. This tailor came to be by way of recommendation of another bride. I took my dress in and at it needs is a panel in the back moved up to hide a snag, and to be hemmed to match. It is a very simple design too boot. I said that I would need in in about 6 weeks, to which the tailor on duty told me MAY be possible but I would be better of coming back in a month because she is leaving for a weeks vacation in 3 weeks or so. Against my better judgment I put the dress on to show her what I needed. She said that it would be really difficult to fix, and my heart sank, she then proceed to tell me that she would be happy to alter a "better" dress, that did not need so much work...but only after she got back from vacation. I politely packed my dress back in it's garment bag and thanked her for her time. read more

I REALLY hate leaving bad reviews, but I took my clothes here based on the great reviews and I just felt I needed to share my experience. I took in 2 pairs of jeans to be taken in, in the waist, a pair of shorts to be taken in, and a pair of capri's that needed the zipper repaired. After the lady marked everything she told me it would be two weeks. I needed two of the items to take out of town, which was a whole week out from the time I dropped them off, she said she would try to have them done by then. After I got home I realized she marked my ticket for the day I was leaving, so I called to clarify that I would actually need them the say prior and if I was rushing her too much I could come et the items. She said, VERY ABRUPTLY, "I'll try!!!" And rushed me off the phone. Although she was very rude, and made me feel as if I was putting her out, I let it go because I felt bad for rushing her. I was leaving on the 21st and expected to pick the up on the 20th it was the night of the 20th I realized she hadn't called, so I sucked it up and left town without the garments. I was fine with out them. The final straw was when I went to pick them up, my total was $115!!!! She charged 35$ for each pair that was taken in and 10$ for the zipper repair. I personally was just shocked. The cost plus the lack of customer service just DEFINITELY WAS NOT WORTH IT!! read more

I could not recommend AB Tailoring enough to anyone who needs any sort of alterations. I had a custom silk chiffon dress + men's tie made by a private vendor, who really did terribly on the whole project. I'm talking puckered fabric, zipper sewn wrong, strap coming apart, etc. I was beyond sad. After reading reviews here, I brought it in to AB Tailoring. The woman was astounded by how badly the dress had been made. She told me she would fix it at a very reasonable price and was realistic as to what she could fix. When I came to pick them up, I could not have been happier with the outcome! She fixed everything she said plus more! They really saved the day so to speak. Upon pickup she had forgotten to take them in at the waist but still charged me. I took the pants back to have them taken in again and she told me she was going to charge me again! found them on yelp. brought in three cashmere sweaters for hole repairs. i assumed they were from moths. my mom told me they looked like cricket holes. whatever. the quality of the repairs is, frankly, rather staggering. i am unable to see the repaired areas! i challenge any of you to closely examine the sweater which had 5(?) holes and try to figure out where those holes were. masterful craftsmanship, true artisans. never would have found them without yelp. they are located in a nondescript building with no signs. i assumed the address was wrong until i walked into the lobby and turned left. ta da. there they are. yay yelp! read more
