First time here. Inside is starting to look quite a bit dated, but the service and food was respectable. Food was served timely, and had good taste. Service was great, though could have been better about drink refills for $3. read more

Best manager and employees ever. Great food and drink. A wonderful experience! Good prices and a bar with lots of sports screens.

The food was subpar at best and the highest price menu item was disgusting if not dangerous. The $40 Black and Blue Prime Rib came out cold. Not just too cold for my liking it was refrigerated. It was well below room temperature. So I kindly explained it to the fairly helpful server and he took it back. It came back with a slightly warmer microwaved look and a ton of white goop they call blue cheese, I think. It had so much old bay type seasoning I, tried to use the goop to get it off. My wife had the burger that was mid/meh kind of rubbery and my son had a french dip that he wouldn't order again. They did take a few dollars off my steak after I asked for a refund but they shouldn't have charged me at all. I think they rely on travelers who stay at the 2 hotels next door. The travelers will keep coming because they don't know any better, but thats a sad way to run a business. Shame on you Tailgators if thats the truth. read more

Food is always great and service is outstanding Family friendly, many tvs so you can catch the game while enjoying your meal or beverage Highly recommend read more

Food and service were average. I wouldn't say it was anything over the top but our needs were met. I had the Parmesan garlic chislic. Flavor was perfectly seasoned! Did have a few fatty pieces but noting horrible. Husband had the black and blue chislic which I assumed would have some blue cheese sprinkled on it or something but it didn't look any different than the regular. I terms of services we did have to ask for plates after appetizers came. The queso was really yummy! And the kids got the fried cheese curds which they devoured right away! Great place to go over to if staying at the holiday inn and don't want to go far. Less than 5 min walk. read more

This place is located just off the I90 freeway at highway 11 in Brandon. I used to live north of this restaurant and went there all the time. They were always consistent with food and service. Last night I went there again for the first time in ten years and had a great experience. This is a full bar but also a full dining experience. It is great for families or heading out with friends for drinks. They have a full menu that includes burger, pasta, salads, burritos and more. It is pretty easy to find something you like here. I ordered the Buffalo chicken penne which was like a mix between hot wings and Italian. It was pretty good and nice to have something different. This is an established well run restaurant. One of the best options in Brandon for sure. read more

August 1st: We were travelling and due to the road construction in the area, we decided to get take-out from the place next door. When we got the containers back to the room and opened them, we discovered: We had paid $18 for 14 little cubes of tough chislic, which is basically little beef cubes with some salt. eef, For $12, we had NINE (i) battered green beans. Total: $30 plus tax/tip Seriously? If you are travelling and get take-out, make sure you inspect what you are getting before you leave the premises. read more

Come here every time I'm in Brandon and it's always the same. Typical locals joint, nothing fancy. I had the beef chislic and fries. They are very consistent and are always good. Service is good, quick and efficient. Had the cheese curds as an appetizer and they were also good. This is typical pub food done right read more

I was extremely pleased/surprised with this place. Parked my trailer next door and walked over for some dinner and to watch MNF. It wasn't super busy, and to go with their multiple TVs, they even had a local high school football game on. Now usually, when you're parked at a truckstop your options are garbage fast food, a garbage chain restaurant, or some local spot that is either very solid or very bad. Sat at the bar, greeted immediately, got my beer and placed my order. I ordered the grilled chicken w/side salad and broccoli. The salad was your fresh, typical side salad. The broccoli was cooked exactly how I like it and the chicken was the star of the show. Grilled chicken cooked to perfection, drizzled with their signature 'Gator Sauce'. I'm not quite sure what the sauce was made of (some sort of BBQ sauce base if I had to guess) but it was really nice and not smothered so you're still able to enjoy. Long story short, you find yourself in Brandon, SD, and hungry, give them a shot. It won't blow you away but it will be a much better option to fast food. read more

Very average food. It's always solid and never bad. Nice variety. The service is great! read more

Tailgators is a staple in the area. You can always count on good food and excellent staff to get you what you want when you go to Tailgators. If you're driving by the exit and need a place to eat, be sure and stop by. Or if you just want to go somewhere for a drink, it's a great place for that too. You can watch your favorite game on TV while you're there as well. Plenty of TVs to watch. It's a friendly place with excellent food and appetizers. Not to mention above average/larger drinks than most places. The staff is always wonderful and there are always plenty of people working, which is something you don't see every day in today's world. So--stop by if you can. You won't regret it! read more

Great place to relax and enjoy a good meal while watching your favorite sporting event with friends and family

Technically, it is food. Service was fast. Fast drink service. Fast food to table. The beef tacos were stone cold. The brisket burn ends were tough and chewy. The Texas toast that came with was charred. Sticky table top and not a single person wearing a mask (except for us) Resist the urge to eat here. read more

Tailgators - The taco trio. Brisket burnt ends. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Brandon, South Dakota

Service was a little slow getting seated! I had the Brisket bacon cheddar sandwich! For 15 bucks I did expect a little more meat on sandwich besides the 2 very small pieces of brisket which was fatty on a big chibatta bun ! I had shiner bock beer on tap may have been an old keg tasted a bit funny! Just an avg place ! read more

What a #$%@Storm. We went there to catch the game as we were camping. Only customers there and felt like we were rushed out. On top of that, I am pretty sure there are microwave burgers of higher quality. Don't want to keep complaining but I have not been back in 7 years, yes it is a grudge. read more

Prime Rib sandwich special was nothing but bad; dry, thin and over salted, home fries were a saltlick. Ruben was soggy and fries were ice cold, thin and limp, when ordered double fries and crispy. Fish and chips was below average with the same cold limp fries. Neighbor tables also said the chef over salted their food. We been there and won't be back. read more

A little something for everyone on the menu. Sports bar atmosphere with family dining. Food was decent. Nothing spectacular, but solid.

Stopped here after checking in to the holiday inn express as it was so close and had decent reviews. I have no complaints. The service was great as was the food. I had the beef chislic (sirloin beef tips) which I had no idea what it was. Our server Emily was very patient explaining what it was and encouraged me to try and I'm glad I did. Excellent. My husband had a pepperoni pizza which he said was very good. Very good food, very good service, very convenient to our hotel. You can tell it is a local hangout cause most of the people seemed to know each other. read more

I get through there about four times a year . This last week the food was mediocre at best . First night : black and bleu prime rib , tasty . Dinner salad was watery and the baked potato was warm on the outside / undercooked inside . It took 3 potato's but they got it right . Second night : pizza . Great thin crust but it had a pile of cheese in the middle that reminded me of a glob of rubber . Not good . I can't recommend this place but it works in a pinch. read more

Service: 5 stars Food: 3 stars Location: awesome I had the wings. They were awesome. No complaints there. Quite a broad menu. Other reviews mentioned that service. It was great. Relaxed atmosphere. Typical sports bar. Lots of televisions. It wasn't loud and crazy so that's a nice change. Would certainly eat there again. read more

Great service! Very friendly staff and great food. Had the tail gator chicken and was very good.

Tailgaters has gone down hill. The food used to be amazing. The staff is still great. The patio is dirty and run down. The bathrooms are clean. The menu is still the same but we have been served frozen hamburgers here. My friend just had the worst experience last week too. Hope they can improve. read more

Tasty food, good and speedy service. Easy off/on from the interstate. Would recommend

Ok food. Keep driving and find another place. Cold food cold beer and slow service. Worst brunch I've ever had.

Great breakfast. The Frisco Breakfast Sandwich on Sourdough bread was awesome and very tasty. Nice combination of flavors. Big sandwich. The 3 eggs, 3 strips bacon, hash browns, and pancakes was my choice. Ahhh. That was also awesome. Both of these are reasonably priced. And a lot of food for the price making this a great value for the price. We'll be back. Still keep thinking about that Frisco AND my breakfast. Next time it'll be the Frisco Breakfast Sandwich for me. One note and it had me hooked. read more

Visited due to a lack of restaurants in the area. Enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich with Buffalo sauce and it was good. But, the sweet potato tots were excellent and were my favorite. My dining partner had the chislic and that was excellent as well. A cold beer is always good, especially with their wide variety of on-tap selections. read more

If I could give zero stars I would have. Stopped in for dinner tonight and was told they only have 6 person tables open in the bar so either sit at the bar or no tables available. I asked if I could sit in the dining area instead and was told no - we are not using the dining room tonight. Horrible hostess service and will not ever try this place again read more

My family and I stopped here for quick bite as we were on the road. The place was pretty empty and the service looked non-existence. In addition, the food was not great. I was not satisfied and pleased at all. read more

Pretty Good. I don't mean to sound like a total dick here, but "pretty good" earns a full five stars when you're driving through a void of civilization such as... well, the whole middle of the US I guess. Yes, I know I'm an asshole for saying it, but there it is. If you don't agree, why don't you drive out to Brandon, SD and take a look around. Then we'll see what's what! I had a large prime rib dinner that was served rare enough, which is hard to find sometimes. I washed it down with a 25 ounce Sam Adams that cost me $3.50. Yeah, now you understand the five stars. read more

I have driven across the country twice, and the first time camped outside Brandon, SD and asked the attendant at the camp site for a recommendation for dinner. She recommended Tailgators and I had a great time. I was looking for a place where I could sit at the bar and talk to the bar tender and some locals or other people passing through and was pleased I was able to! In addition, prices were great coming from the New York Metro area, and everything was quick and tasty. I had such an enjoyable time that on my second cross country journey I knew I had to stay in the general area one night on the drive out to Yellowstone, that I planned to stay at the same camp site to go to Tailgators again. Like the first time, I had a great time and met some great people. It seems to be a place where a lot of people go as they pass through the area off I-90, so if you are interested in good food, good prices and meeting good people, I recommend a stop here if you are looking for some food on a trip along 90. read more

Wow very good food. Great tortilla soup. I had a bison burger that was maybe slightly under-seasoned but still great. This would be 5 stars, but while we were here, a customer found another customer's wallet in the parking lot. When the connection was made, the hostess seemed almost annoyed to retrieve it from lost-and-found. read more

Solid restaurant. Food was "okay" but we didn't expect much going into it after experiencing the hotel next door. Ordered the nacho's with guac, wife had a taco salad and I had chicken fingers. They give you a lot of food for what you pay, so that was a plus. The chicken fingers were a bit hard, and the guac was a little pasty, but overall we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was exceedingly nice! read more

Ate here for lunch while visiting family. We had three two year olds with us. Two have strict dietary restriction. The waitress would not let us order scrambled eggs for the children. Then the manager (Amy) came out and rudely told us it's against their policy to make eggs after 11AM. Despite the place being empty, the service was painfully slow. The food was mediocre at best. I guess when you are one of two restaurants in town, then Midwest hospitality and serving the customer are not necessary. I will not eat here again. I suggest you avoid this place as well, unless you like rude people. read more

Nice place for casual meal and beers Bartender seems pissed off all the time Good wings and chislic, although the chislic is not authentic. Will return, probably sit at table, so I don't need to see the bartender piss and moan about people, very un attentive also. read more

We went on a Monday night around 6:30. Place was packed and understaffed with inexperienced staff. We waited 20 min to get a round of drinks then ordered our food which was cooked great but the waiter forgot some of the items that were ordered. We didn't bother telling him because it wasn't worth the hassle. We had no drinks for most of the dinner then we started ordering 2 at a time so we could stay ahead of his poor service. I had a gin and tonic and it was in a tall glass which I didn't order a "tall" and it tasted like there was almost no gin in it at all so I had a beer for the rest of the night. If you go here and it's busy leave and go somewhere else and you will be glad you did. The food that came out was great. Cooked perfectly, although inaccurate from what was ordered, but still acceptable. But forget about getting any condiments for fries and steaks, they would be cold before they arrived. Overall great food was overshadowed by poor service which ruined the meal and our night. Should have stayed in the hotel and had beers there and ordered pizza. read more

1 lb of bone in wings equals 6 wings, they are good but 6 wings don't equal a pound. Service was really good for being busy

I ordered a chicken sandwich, no mayo, to go with fries and ask for extra ketchup. I got chicken and a bun. No lettuce, no tomato, just plain chicken and bread. Over $12 before tip for that?? I checked the bag for ketchup and it's a good thing, only one pack of ketchup. I also had to wait forever at the bar to make my order. Very poor experience. read more

We ate here a few days ago. You don't get a great amount of food for the price. Also, our waiter was slower than a 7 year itch! We had to tell him multiple times to refill our drinks. Don't think we'll eat here next time we're in Brandon. read more
