Burgers and wings are best in Atlantic county. They have recently added more and more craft beers. You can't beat the atmosphere. Not too loud, not too quite, easy to relax and enjoy a conversation without half the bar hearing you. Tons of TVs. They played a bills game on a main tv for us, who does that in south jersey?! Busy Friday night. Came here with the family. Ok that it was loud we can be too. Waitress was mia begged for more beers. Hour passed adult meals without kids meals. Then kids meals came. Daughter ordered pene with meatballs no meatballs. Then I was asked if I wanted meatballs? Like why wouldn't you make a meatball from a burger? Asked for a manager, for owner ari(sp). Told him the plate was too small for a child meal, not enough sauce and if making a meatball was an option why didn't they just do that? Why would you serve a meal that wasn't complete and ask if I wanted it completed. I told him I that I have a strict rule that after a complaint I do not send food back, I want it taken off my bill. He said "after 12 years here I take it as a personal insult that I wouldn't send a child's food back" then dismissed me and asked my husband what he would like to do. After waiting for our food we didn't want her to wait anymore. I left with my children and apparently he took the pasta off the check and gave us chicken fingers. So if you have a complaint. I have stopped at Tailgators twice on the way home from the shore. The beer selection is what brought me here and it's pretty good for a small sports bar type place. They have some delicious brews from Carton and Kane - 2 of New Jersey's best breweries, as well as some other regional and national craft brews. Very impressive. Also the food was quite good as I really enjoyed my burrito. They do have some strange rules though. The bartenders would not let me sample any of their brews before purchasing. I have never seen this at any bar anywhere. They claimed it was the law, but I don't see how as every other establishment I've ever been in, including in NJ, has let me sample beers. Also, while sitting at the bar, if I wanted to order food I had to order from a waitress and not a bartender and receive a separate check for the food items. This was kind of a pain upon check-out to have to complete 2 bills. Furthermore they have some bizarre code with how your menu has to be placed on the bar in order to get a waitress to take your food order and you get scolded if you don't do it right. But I would go here again as it's an inexpensive little place with standard pub grub and excellent beer. read more

I usually go to Tailgaters for the fun vibe, terrific food and awesome people. But after my last visit I have to add something to the list of why Tailgaters is my go to.....The olives! Thats right, I said olives. A friend of mine was having a drink and offered me her olive. Sure, why not I said. Little did I know it would be a life altering event. I have never considered olives anything more than salad filler at best. Wow, has that changed. The Mediterranean may have come up with some of the finest olives but Tailgaters has perfected them. Today me and my girlfriend went into tailgaters for their Monday night all you can eat crab legs. It took are server about 8 mins to first greet us. No sweat it looked like we came at a busy hour. Then it slowed now as we got are food. She barely came to check up on us. I had to wait 10 mins between each of my sets of crab legs. Then my girlfriend ordered a bloody Mary that she didn't end up liking. She told the server Britney was her name, that she would like a tito vodka and club. When we got the check we were charged for the bloody Mary she didn't drink. I've never been to a restaurant where they charge you for a drink you didn't like and didn't drink. We told her that it was on the bill and she said she would "price adjust it" which was taking a 1.50 off the drink. We were disappointed in the service so we left 10% and i always tip 20% plus. As we were still sitting there the server Britney was obviously talking about us because the whole staff was looking are way. I had been to this place once before and had a decent experience sitting at a table. But NEVER AGAIN!!! The other day my boyfriend and I decided to sit at the bar. We sit and the bartender Shannon doesn't even say hello or anything with an attitude asks for our id. Like ok of course you have to card us but what's the attitude for. I order my drink my bf still didn't know what he wanted. So we had to ask for menus since she didn't even bother to ask us if we wanted them. And so time goes by she completely keeps ignoring us even when my bf tries to get her attention. Luckily the sweet other bartender came up to us and helped us. So again Shannon continued with her attitude and need to ignore us. We then flag her down to tell her we were ready to order. Without a word she just picks up the menu and slams it down to stand up. What she should have said was that when you are ready just have your menu up and a server will be right with you. Places are different some have servers come to the bar and some the bartenders take the food order, so how were we supposed to know. Right then and there I was done. Drank my one beer and left to eat somewhere else. From the beginning she treated us badly for no reason. Highly disappointed and disgusted. read more
