This restaurant is a quaint establishment which to be completely honest, made me feel like I transported back to all the wonderful times I spent in Morocco. The ambiance was very familiar to me, from the decor, to the glassware used, everything felt very authentic. My friend and I started with some bread and three wonderful salads. Next, was the seafood and chicken pastillas, both equally delicious. Afterwards, was our main course, the honey almond lamb. One of the best lamb dishes I've ever had in my entire life! Although we were full after the lamb, I insisted on getting dessert and tea to finish our meal, and I'm so glad I did. The cookies were superb and paired perfectly with the Moroccan tea. The owner was kind and made my friend and I feel at home in her restaurant. She often checked on us, making sure we were satisfied, while at the same time being personable. We enjoyed the stories she shared, which elevated our dining experience. Thank you Casablanca Moroccan Kitchens for a wonderful meal today! You have made two new fans of your restaurant, and I am excited to dine with you again soon.

The bread came out fresh and hot, the zaalouk was absolutely delicious, and the lamb tagine was just incredible. The meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone. We also tried the chicken pastilla. Not really my thing, but definitely interesting and worth trying at least once. The only disappointment was the opening time. Apple Maps said noon, but when we arrived at 12:10, the place was still closed. They eventually opened around 12:35. Other than that, we had a great time and would happily come back!

There are multiple rooms with low to the ground couches and lots of pillows. You start with a hand wash and are then handed a bath towel as your napkin. This begins a very unique dining experience. The food is Tunisian. and absolutely outstanding. Most of the meal is eaten with fingers and a special bread. There are unusual salads with wonderful unexpected flavors. There is brik, a hard-shelled potato with egg that is so good. A pastry filled with chicken and cinnamon is just wonderful. We had as our main course a mouth-watering chicken with almond that just falls off the bone it is so tender and juicy. Dessert is baklava or an almond cake and mint and honey tea that is poured 3 feet above a tiny glass and never a dropped missed. There are a variety of set menus that the whole table needs to agree upon. But you can order some extras if there is something you really want from one of their menu choices. I am not a meat-eater, but others in the party were, so we ordered extra beef brochettes. There is no way to eat everything that is brought although you wish you could. The good thing is you can take leftovers home and enjoy the meal a second night. There is lovely belly dancing to enhance the evening. The service is good and you do not feel rushed. The prices are incredible. Amazing value for the food you are receiving. I don't think they have raised their prices in years. The restaurant is on Sunset at Gower, but very hard to see from Sunset. Just east of Gower is a small driveway you need to go in to see the Moun of Tunis

The food is really good. They have a salad which is portioned with minced carrots and rose water. As strange as that sounds, it was very unique and amazing. The population here can be hit or miss. I would give Mazal 6/5 stars if I could!!!…read more This food is phenomenal! The Moroccan carrots and hummus are true true standouts. The mushroom shawarma was also absolutely delicious. Also, I think that was the best pita bread I've ever had, period. We also tried the borekas, and they were perfect little bites to begin. We were celebrating my co-worker/mentee's birthday, and they brought her a yummy birthday dessert as well. And we split a great bottle of wine. Mazal is an unsuspecting beautiful experience. We found street parking but we couldn't find the actual restaurant because I just assumed the building was an apartment building. Once we finally walked through the door, inside is so lovely. I LOVE their bar countertop. We sat outside which has great vibes for summer. Cute lighting, all the works. I want to sincerely thank them for a wonderful birthday dinner for my friend. And for the superior service we received. Very warm and inviting. I can't hype up the service here enough. And we accidentally stayed significantly after closing without realizing it because we were tucked in a corner and lost in our conversation so we didn't even see the time, but we were never rushed out the door (to other diners - please do not be like us, I am so sorry we stayed so late without realizing the restaurant had closed, *yes there was another straggling table next to us who were still there as well so that's why we didn't realize the time*) again, so sorry, and thank you for being so accommodating still!

I still daydream about it, & it's already been 9 days since my visit!

The Plate Pargiyot has excellent marinated grilled chicken that is just bursting with delicious flavor! I can't get enough of it! Both dishes also include grilled onions, roasted Anaheim chilies, herb salad, pita, and a choice between Jerusalem salad, harira soup, or what both chose, Mejadra Rice. The rice is quite good but it's not that memorable. Although the layout of the restaurant is long and narrow, it doesn't feel claustrophobic thanks to the light interior and warm lights. Best of all, prices is not too bad! I'm looking forward to coming back here to explore more of the menu!

I heard Bavel is the sister restaurant to Bestia, so I didn't know what to expect because I thought Bestia was overhyped in the sense that it's good but not "THE best restaurant in LA". I can see why so many people love this restaurant. It is not only creatively distinct from the commonly available Italian, Japanese, or Korea restaurants, it also does a great job at the food. Often times I find myself craving something new, something different, something delicious, and Bavel delivered on those fronts. For the dress code - this is LA. And this place is where people like to have fun, go out, socialize, eat good food. As in, people are coming dressed up here. That being said, certain dishes definitely stood out from the crowd, while others were a bit of a let down. Quail - 9/10 absolutely amazing. I've had quail cooked Vietnamese style and quail cooked french style. Bavel's style of quail had tons of spices that create a nice new flavor I've never had with quail before. Hummus Masabacha - 8/10 - I normally don't like hummus, and I enjoyed this hummus. Hummus Duck Nduja - 8/10 Malawach - 6/10 - The crispy bread is what you expect of crispy bread. The creme fraiche and strawberry zhoug just did not pair well with the egg together with the malawach. I've never had a dish like this before so I don't know how it's supposed to be. Oyster Mushroom Kebab 7/10 - it's okay. We were told it would taste like a steak, which I agree it did have the same season as a steak. It was still oyster mushroom. It was good but not outstanding. Baked Alaska 8/10 - I normally don't like to order ice cream for dessert, but this baked alaska was delicious and a creative twist on the baked alaska. I enjoyed every bite. I'd love to go back to try other dishes. I would get the quail again and skip the other dishes so I can new dishes. I would recommend the baked alaska for those who have not had it before.

We went on a Sunday at 5.15pm and was seated by the chef counter area. It was only 2 of us so I wanted to make sure we ordered enough food but not too too much. Reading through the reviews, I ended up ordering the hummus duck nduja, oyster mushroom kebab, grilled prawn, and the lamb neck shawarma. First of all this restaurant seems more on the fancier side, but I appreciate that the vibe is still pretty casual and not pretentious. Even when serving the dishes, the server told us that some dishes are recommended to be enjoyed by hands. I really enjoyed the service. They served the plates in a pretty good pace, so I had plenty of time to enjoy each of them. First was the hummus duck nduja that was served with 2 bread that were freshly made. The bread was so fluffy and it went really well with the hummus. Very good appetizer. Second was the mushroom kebab. This might be my favorite plate of all. It really tasted like something else other than mushroom. It's that good. It has nice texture and flavor. Third was the grilled prawn and this one was recommended to be enjoyed by hands. It can be quite messy, but oh man it's so flavorful. I kinda wish it came with rice haha cos it's pretty rich. Very yummy. The cucumber salad that came with it was refreshing as well. The last but not least was the lamb neck shawarma. It's so so good and falls off the bone. My bf said this was his favorite. It came with bread, although again I kinda wish it came with rice! Haha but that's just cos I'm more of a rice girly. I was already full so we take it to go. Everything was so delicious and service was great. Definitely will come back again to try other dishes. Parking was difficult so we ended up using vallet for $15. Edit to add: we just enjoyed the leftover lamb the night after, and OMG it's soooooo good! I didn't do justice on my review at the restaurant cos I was already full by the time they served the lamb. Will definitely be dreaming of that lamb now..

Chicken Tajine - Thank you for recommending couscous over rice with my chicken while also giving me a side of rice with diced veggies. The couscous was very small, not pearl-sized. A bite with that, chicken and a roasted vegetable was perfect, so delicious and comforting. It came with on point hummus, a simple but delicious salad, pickled veggies and garlic paste! Their vast menu has kebabs, shawarmas, soups and a long list of appetizers. Some entree prices are high but its for quality, healthy excellence. I have found my new favorite Mediterranean place!
