Did not expected it's a food truck. Food's really good at cheap price. We got the trippa supper tacos (with salsa, queso, sour cream, cilantro). I always love the cripsy trippa. Unfortunately they don't have the frying pot. But she tried to make the meat as crunchy as possible per my request. Lovelyyyyy. The quesadilla's really soft and a lot of cheese. Dine in are right in front of the truck with some small benches. Feeling comfortable. Not street parking as it's busy street for big big trucks every mins passing by. You can park right in front or on the side of truck. I feel more comfortable to park right front of where i sat. As this area in the night somehow crazy I can tell. I realized as I waited for my burrito the other day I've been visiting Tacos Vallarta since 2006 when I first moved to Modesto. It's a gem and the consistency and quality hasn't changed in all that time. I now live in the bay area but anytime I'm in Modesto this is a must stop. In fact I crave it from time to time. Just last night we ordered multiple items with chicken and I don't know that I've ever received chicken so dried out and hard anywhere else I've ever been to in my life. Probably the most delicious tacos around Modesto. Located in the parking lot of some tire place, this truck is the king of tasty meats on a tortilla. Oh my gosh stop everything you're doing searching for other places for tacos in Modesto and go here. It doesn't get better then this place: $1 tacos, late hours, friendly service, amazing flavor, and no tax! I went probably three times when I was visiting Modesto for a week. They are a small taco truck near downtown Modesto, and there's a small parking lot nearby for you to drive into. They have some outdoor seating if you'd like to eat there, but you can also get it to go or call ahead for pick up. I'd love to try their burrito sometime, so if I'm ever back I know what I'll get. My recommendation would be their Carne Asada tacos with everything on them. I also like their chicken tacos, but there Carne Asada is something else. Also, please know this is cash only! read more

This is an awesome taco truck. It's relatively fast and it's a great deal. All the meats are delicious and they offer lengua and cabeza! I usually get a burrito and it's easily big enough for two meals. They're very busy around one pm so expect to wait a bit. They do a really good job of keeping track of orders though. We were just passing through on the highway and wanted some good authentic Mexican food. We sound this spot (about five minutes off the highway) and definitely worth sitting through the stop lights to get here. As we were waiting for our food one man in his 30's said he's been coming here since he was 16. We were already looking forward to the food but that increased our anticipation. We both ordered carne asada super burritos with avocado. They had everything from head, tongue, you name it which to me is a real stroke of authenticity. Although not my thing, it's true to its roots. The burritos were AMAZING. I ate all but the last three bites and really the burrito was so big I was forcing myself to eat the second half because it was delicious. I'm thankful we stopped here. Not sure we will ever be in Modesto again but it's definitely worth it if your looking for authentic and BOMB Mexican food. Our burritos were $5.75 ($6.75 with avocado). No bathrooms and not enough seating space for more then two families held it from a 5 star. We ate in our car. But we're full and happy when we got back on the road. read more

I'm so glad I found this place based on the yelp reviews. I'm currently in the area for a couple weeks and the tacos from the Midwest (where I currently live) don't ever come close to this taco truck! I had the carne asada tacos for $1 each and you really can't beat that deal. The tacos were perfectly seasoned and the tortilla was toasted well so by the time I got home, my tacos were not soggy. I've also tried other taco places around modesto and this is the best one so far, especially for the price. In terms of service, the lady who took my order was really nice and she answered all my questions (I was wondering if they had fish tacos- they don't).
