This is maybe the most convoluted review I've ever written:…read moreWe were happy to get a spot here on OpenTable for Mother's Day. Fortunately, it is close to our home and the reviews looked great. When we arrived, we redirected from the main dining room to another space the restaurant owns 2 doors down. I wonder if we may have had a more attentive experience had we been in the original? The first disappointment was that our meal took 40 minutes to arrive from the time that we sat down. Our waiter consistently forgot that my husband had ordered a Diet Coke or to refill the drink when he had offered. The tables around us seemingly were served earlier, even though we all placed our orders around the same time. I ordered the Thai Pork Belly Benedict, which was absolutely delectable and definitely something write home about! And the country potatoes side was perfectly seasoned and crispy. I would absolutely go back for this, just maybe on a weekday brunch due to the wait. I thought it was extremely unique how the children's menu was plated in a muffin tin, with 6 different food choices for just $12. Great deal! My husband had a Belgian waffle topped with fruit, which was really unremarkable. Reminiscent of something that you might self-make at a hotel breakfast. Unfortunately, his waffle was cold, and he requested that they remake, which our server made sure was done in a timely manner. All in all, our meal was very reasonably priced at around $43. I just wish it hadn't been such a long wait, both to receive the initial order and for drink refills.

We asked who I assume was the owner what is their best plate and he recommended the Philly cheesesteak, which my husband ordered with bacon, no veggies. I thought the buffalo chicken sounded amazing so I went with that, no bacon. The owner was nice enough just to put my bacon on my husband's sandwich. For drinks, my husband got a Mexican coke and I had the mango jumex, iykyk. While we waited for our food we sat down at the bench area, which is really the only area to sit down and eat. This place is literally a little hole in the wall and they are packing amazing taste. I swear I've never had veggies with a buffalo chicken sandwich and even that tasted delicious. We will definitely be coming back!

Their Philly sandwich is unique in that it has Pepper Jack and Nacho Cheese instead of the Cheese Whiz, provolone etc. that most places use. It gave the sandwich great flavor. Their fries were hot and crispy with good seasoning on them. It's a small space so there is only one table if you plan to eat there. I think most people plan to grab their order and enjoy it at home.

Shout out to the bartender, it was her first day back working at BDB at this location and a few staff did not show up to their shifts that evening. Checked in on us before our beers ran out and got our refills. I ordered the smash burger and my partner ordered the bistro burger. He loved the bistro burger because when I looked back at him, his burger was gone. Inhaled it. My smash burger was good, but it was way over seasoned. The patty is thinner so I wonder if they took the same approach as seasoning the regular burgers... Took off a star for that.. and the soft fries... but the tater tots, the deviled eggs, the beers, the service were all top notch. Definitely will be back for their happy hour weekdays, seems to be a great deal. Their own Bad Daddy Amber is always a great deal too. Thanks for the good times!

As Lucy's is known for their stuffed burgers, I went with The Juicy Lucy and a half order of fries. The burgers are made with a 76/24 blend and stuffed with cheese, onions, and pickles. There are plenty of add-ons (tomato, lettuce, pepperoncini, bacon, even an egg), but go easy as these burgers are seriously indulgent and filling. The skinny fries were fabulous (you can't have just one). My order arrived quick AND hot. The burger was good and as promised, juicy. Definitely recommend indulging in a cocktail too. Lucy's infuses their vodka so check out the Cherry Spritz (it isn't quite as tart as the name implies) or the pineapple flavored Lucy's Spritz. Beer and wine are served as well as Pepsi products.

The menu has plenty of options to customize your burger, and one thing I thought was unique is that you fill out a paper order form with all of your toppings before handing it to the staff to place your order. We chose to sit on the pet-friendly patio with our dog, Luna, which was great until a surprise downpour rolled in. The patio tables have umbrellas, but they weren't enough to keep us (or our food) dry. We ended up grabbing the condiments and finishing our meal in the car instead. Obviously, the weather isn't their fault, but a little more covered seating would have been nice. I also would have loved to see Thousand Island dressing offered as a condiment--it would have been perfect on my burger. Fresh avocado as an add-on would have been another great option to take it to the next level. Overall, it's a fun, casual burger spot with good food, a dog-friendly patio, and friendly service. I'd definitely stop by again if I was in the Golden area.

We possess a strange, biological urge to turn ordinary, commercial enterprises into places of…read moreworship. In-N-Out is a prime example of this phenomenon. Two of my traveling companions insisted that our road trip could not proceed until we made a pilgrimage to the location on Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada. Because we live on the East Coast where this particular brand of fast food does not exist, they spoke of the restaurant with a quiet, holy reverence. One would think we were approaching an ancient mountain sanctuary rather than a burger joint with crisscrossed neon palm trees. The parking lot was a scene of controlled suburban chaos. Inside, the dining room was intensely clean. Young workers wearing crisp white aprons, red paper hats, and giant safety pins moved with the focused speed of emergency room nurses. Behind the counter, an employee was actively converting raw potatoes into fries with a mechanical slicer right in front of the counter. I ordered a Double Double, an order of Animal Style fries covered in "spread" and grilled onions, and a lemonade. The beef was fresh and never frozen, the lettuce was crisp, and the total cost was surprisingly reasonable. It was a very good, highly efficient lunch. This is where I must commit a mild blasphemy: I still prefer Five Guys. Somewhere in California, a true believer has just dropped his burger in absolute horror. Five Guys offers chaotic brown paper bags spilling over with greasy fries. In-N-Out offers geometric perfection, extreme order, and a secret menu that everyone on earth seems to know about. In-N-Out has mastered the art of doing a few simple things with absolute precision. I respect the machinery of it, and if I am ever passing through Arvada for some reason again, I will happily stop for another meal. I will simply leave the religious devotion to someone else.
