Tacos Tijuana only offers three tacos but their simplicity shines through. Dare I say some of the best tacos in the area. Parking is spacious and they do get crowded during lunchtime but the longest I've ever waited was 10 minutes for my order. The menu is small, offering only carne asada, al pastor and veggie (for extra). Tacos come on either flour or corn, with the latter being cheaper. Alternatively they can be on tostadas if the vampiro or mulita style is chosen. Although the other styles cost more, the size is about 1.5 times the regular taco and comes with cheese. Each taco can be topped with onion, cilantro, guacamole, and tomato salsa. =ORDERED= Although the size looked rather small, each taco was packed with meat so personally I can only handle three before I'm full. Beverages only came in one size: X-large. *Carne Asada: some of the cleanest tasting carne asada I've had and the grilled component was prominent. Not overly salty or heavy so I have several without feeling bogged down. Personally would add some salsa verde to give it some more moisture and flavor. *Al Pastor: my preferred option and when there's a fattier cut, chef's kiss. Meat was juicy and went well with the fresh lime. Slightly salty and sweet pork with the creamy guacamole, fresh onion and cilantro made for a balanced bite. *Horchata: definitely made in house given how cinnamon and rice forward it tasted. Delicious and sweet but some of the cinnamon could have been sieved. *Jamaica: a bit syrupy but nothing wrong with a strong hibiscus presence. A fragrant alternative to the heavier, rich horchata. Although service was minimal, the staff were always focused with each order, forming an effective assembly line. An excellent spot for tacos, especially when carne asada and al pastor are my favorites. Tacos Tijuana never fails to satisfy my Mexican food cravings. read more

The tacos here are amazing. Maybe the best I have had in AZ. The problem is the heat in the building. This place is always hot. I like to get my food and eat it while it is hot as opposed to taking it home and eating it barely warm. Sweating while I eat is not enjoyable. I came here for a snack before an event. Got a pork and steak taco. I think the price is high per taco and they're not double wrapped like most places follow the taco intact. Mine broke apart easily. There only being two meat choices was also disappointing. I liked the meats although they were cooked too long and were hard and had gristle on both meats. Such a hidden gem! I can't believe I missed this place as it is right next to my school! Thank god I forgot to bring lunch one day because I was able to try it out. I got three tacos. One pastor and two carne asada with corn tortillas. They also have mild and hot sauce. Both are bomb. I will say that there hot sauce is really spicy but so good I couldn't stop eating it lol. The meat was bomb! I was so impressed! It was moist and flavorful and it came with their version of guacamole. The price is pretty affordable and I will definitely be back because I haven't found a really good taco place in the area until this place! Very good TJ style tacos. Simple, tasty, no frills. I really liked it... We were in town from LA and friends that live here eat at Tacos Tijuana quite regularly. After spending all am shooting guns in the desert, we were starved. Place was busy as it was a little after lunch time on a Saturday when we arrived. We were going to place a big take-out order for all of us and everyone back at the house. Masks are required to enter the restaurant. No guns allowed. No lie... Check the sign at the window. I went with 4 carne asada tacos ($2.50 each). It was very good. Asada was tasty with good marinated flavor. Good sized cuts of steak. The onions and guacamole were perfect toppings. I opted for no cilantro. Everything else comes with all of the above and also a splash of tomato juice. They only serve 2 kids of meat. Asada or al pastor. If you want a taco with flour tortilla, it is $2.70 each. I had some of my girlfriend's asada quesadilla ($7.50) and it was very good. Even with cilantro! Ha! It was packed with meat and the melted cheese was perfect even after reheating. I definitely suggest getting a taco as well as a quesadilla too. Tacos only come with one tortilla but the corn tortilla I had on mine were plenty thick to handle the contents of it all. Homemade style tortillas so the texture and thickness of it was evident. Really liked the food at Tacos Tijuana. Parking is in a shared lot. TJ is located in a busy shopping center but even when packed, there is parking spaces to be had. Was on my way to visit my daughter nearby, seen the Tijuana sign and had to stop in and try it out. Through out the years, I have visited Tijuana at least fifty times. Ohh there was no better way to spend taco Tuesday so we made it on over here. The inside was crazy! It was around 8pm and people were still coming and going. We ordered a mulita, 6 carne asada tacos, and two al pastor. I also ordered a flour tortilla on the side. The cashier was friendly, but everyone looked to be overwhelmed. We ordered, paid, and luckily found a table. It was pretty dirty though, as everything else was. The floors felt sticky and they definitely hadn't been swept. Our number was called out and we grabbed our food. My carne asada tacos were decent but nothing out of this world. The tacos already came with the fix ins, and I was surprised that they did not have a salsa bar. The two salsas they did have were in plastic bottles. The mulita was pretty good and super cheesy. The salsas in my opinion were very spicy, but they tasted like they were too watered down. The inside is small and your literally rubbing elbows with people when it's busy. (On this night it was very busy) I have definitely have had better tacos. These were okay though.. Oh they also have complimentary grilled jalapeños and onions but you have to ask! 1. The tortilla is amazing. It is fresh because the man at the back actually makes fresh tortilla. I noticed that the same man takes a piece of dough and then puts the piece onto the presser, which flattens the piece into a tortilla. The man eventually puts the tortilla onto the grill to heat it up. 2. The meat is cooked fresh, and I believe they are only serving 1 meat at this time --- pastor. The pastor is cooked on a stance at the back. The cooker slices the meat and then chops the meat into recognizble pieces. 3. The workers at the front assemble the meat and tortilla together, along with guacamole, onion, and cilantro, all of that jazz into perfection! Lime is also included on your plate. Keep in mind that there is no salsa bar. However, if you ask for green sauce or red sauce, they will give it to you --- if you ask for it. The sauces are provided in a typical plastic bottle and come straight from the fridge behind the cashier. I am not aware of any pico de gallo at this time. Pineapple is also not served in the taco, FYI. (Some places add pineapple to pastor taco, just not at this location) If you want a salsa bar, I highly recommend Taco Boys, and it is located in Tempe, though the quality of taco will differ between Taco Boys and Taco Tijuana, which are both different animals but have similar prices. 4. The restroom is at the back, and you have to find it. There's a small hallway that patrons need to walk through. 5. The ventilation definitely needs work because it is very stuffy and smoky. It was also hot despite having the air conditioning. There is an opportunity for this establishment to address this environment. 6. The decor is very nice, small and cozy. 7. The server and cashier are polite, respectful, and reserved. Keep in mind that patrons need to be patient. Despite having a full staff, they generally take their time to make the order. If you are hungry and expect quick service, this is not the place for you. I recommend you eat a little something before heading to this place. Otherwise, you are free to find a different mexican place to meet your urgent needs. In conclusion, Tejuana Taco is a great establishment, serving wonderful food at a fair price. For Friday night family night we went to Tacos Tijuana. The location in Mesa just opened and I was excited because as an avid taco consumer, I have been hearing about them. We entered their little shop on Greenfield at about 6pm and it was already pretty busy. People we're ordering to-go and to eat there. We got in line. I noticed that they were making their tortillas by hand which is always a great sign. The menu only has a few item which I love. Keep it simple. We ordered 2 carne asada on corn and 2 on flour with everything. A vampiro and a quesadilla with carne for the boy, Riancito. They came in about 10-15 minutes and the result was amazing. The carne was tender, fresh just salty enough. The hand made corn tortillas were my favorite although I generally like flour. They were thick but light and a good taste. The flour tortillas were thin and soft but strong enough to contain all the ingredients. The vampiro was crunchy and delicious. Although full, I had to go back for another round. I tried the Al Pastor and it was seasoned so deliciously. I could taste the cinnamon and yerbas. I would recommend this place. 5 stars. We will be returning for sure. read more

I love that they come loaded with everything on them initially and then you take anything off if needed. I just personally like that set up and way of ordering. Best Tacos I have had so far in AZ. And that's saying something we have backyard taco and Garcia's and a few other great spots. This is an authentic Mexican taco. I order the beef tacos (which are the best in my opinion) with all of the fixing and add cheese to them it's never a bad idea and for a few cents more is just worth it. Really the salsas are excellent and not too spicy that it kills the flavor the red or green sauce are both great and add just the right amount of kick to the taco. Everything tastes fresh and is prepared with care and quality in mind. Dining room is modern designed but limited. Bar like seating throughout. I loved this place!! It's been on my watch list for a while - we had friends in town who wanted tacos, so we went and checked them out! They're located in a strip mall near walmart. The location has plenty of parking and has a nice interior/exterior with indoor seating. They have two types of meat: Carne Asada and Al Pastor. Both are incredible. You can have them in tacos, burritos, etc. I personally went with Tacos and did not regret my decision. Their corn tortillas are really good. The hot salsa is HOT. Horchata was great - seemed homemade vs made from a drink mix. They have other beverage options, including beer. The ingredients are really high quality here.
