Really friendly and efficient service. Most places with these meats are usually cash only. They have a kiosk for easy ordering with RFID. It's also pretty clean there and prices are decent. I sat near window where one can watch them make your items, which was enjoyable. Def would come back. Really enjoyed my $7 tostada. Good filling meal in itself. We were looking for something easy to takeout and once again decided to get burritos. We've been to Tacos Sinaloa a couple times in the past primarily for their tacos and loved them! The tortillas are always piping hot, the carnitas are a bit crispy, the salsa is spicy, and the diced onion and cilantro add a nice freshness. This time, we decided to try the al pastor super burrito, which is over a footlong and large enough for 2. Overall, the al pastor was pretty flavorful and a bit greasy, but there's lots of rice and tortilla to soak up those juices. We did feel like it lacked the same balance as the tacos though since it didn't have without the freshness of the cilantro and raw onion. It definitely needs some salsa or lime to cut through the grease, so remember to ask for some on the side. This place seems to enjoy students and gives students discounts on certain days or randomly. Ask nicely and they MIGHT give you something nice. My go to all the time is the shrimp burrito and the vegetarian. Flavour is always bursting. Sides of pickled carrots and choices of salsa are always nice. The horchata was okay. I liked it better than the spicy pork, which had a flavor I just wasn't used to. Cheese pulls galore! They didn't skimp on the meat. I liked the strawberry horchata since it was really refreshing in the beginning, but then it got too sweet. If I could, I'd ask for 50% sweetness. I gave this place 4 stars because they didn't add the sides we asked for, like cilantro + onions and lime. Make sure to check your order before you leave the restaurant! One of my friends was visiting from out of town and wanted Mexican food. I looked around Berkeley and couldn't pass up Tacos Sinaloa. They're known for their popular Orange truck that the Golden State Warriors like to order from. We came on a late weeknight and they were open pretty late, not much parking on the Main Street and not much seating inside, definitely a quick spot or place to order. We ordered on a kiosk and got a variety of tacos-- asada (beef), carnitas (shredded pork), pastor (pork), and lengua (beef tongue) which is pretty fatty. But they're the perfect size and fully loaded with onions and comes with a side of pickles. 1-2 tacos are good enough for me. And we had to pair it with jarritos! Service was pretty quick, there was no one really in there but people were coming to pick up their orders. Not really many napkins around. And quite affordable, I think about $4 a taco. Taco Sinaloa is famous for their bright orange food truck in east Oakland (I believe the highest rated taco truck in the Bay Area). This is their standing location in downtown Berkeley on Telegraph Ave near Cal. Tacos here are $3 each (vs I think $2.50 at the truck). I ordered at the counter and got a chorizo and cabeza taco. Service was fast - I got my food in less than a few minutes. Sinaloa serves your classic street taco - a ton of meat topped with green chili sauce and pickled radish, carrots, and pepper. That's it. (Don't eat the pepper if you're sensitive to spice - it is extremely spicy!) I tried their truck before the quality of tacos here in Berkeley were pretty on-par with the truck. Juicy, moist meat and crunchy pickled veggies to cut the spice. Overall very good! They also have specialty meats that I believe are a little extra $. 4 -stars because of the price - $3/taco is average for the Bay Area, but this is a college town and there are a lot of cheap eats in the area. Also, burritos are $10+, which I think is high when there are other taquerias and trucks in the area where prices are more reasonable. But overall probably the best taco in downtown Berkeley and you can't go wrong with the quality. read more

Yeah this is a long overdue review of my FAVORITE taco spot in the UC Berkeley area. I'm class of 2019, but I still gotta support the OG spots. Admittedly, I haven't been here in a while, but I remember it being pretty good. I would basically only come here on Tuesdays, as the tacos would be pretty expensive otherwise. On Taco Tuesday, they had a buy 4 get 1 free deal, which is enough food to feed 2 people (or 1 really hungry person like me). The tacos themselves were pretty good. Truth be told, the tacos are WAY better in San Jose... although something about these tacos hit different. Maybe it was the busy student life that made these tacos taste so good. They also have a surprisingly large selection of meats. I appreciated that they had tripas, lengua, suadero, and cabeza, which are not always on the menu at other taco spots. Due to the pandemic, I will be removing criteria that I had added to my reviews, such as restaurant ambience, mood, and wait time. This review will only focus on the dish. I'm a taco person than a burrito person, so I always order the tacos. They arrive flat like coins and they're stacked with ordered meat, and the onion and cilantro blend, and a salsa sauce. Despite the size, it's packed with toppings and savory juices. On a hungry day, I would order four, but for light, snacking moods, I order two tacos. The list, where I titled as My go-to meats are the ones I tried so far -- and I tend to order on repeat because they're so good. I have yet to try the fish tacos, but I'll sure remind myself to try it if I don't choose carnitas. Carnitas, which is fried pork, is my most favorite meat topping. When eaten right after they arrive, it's crispy and an enormously delicious flavor fills the mouth. I just adore the texture. The more unique meat is the beef tongue. In my memory, beef tongue is a tough meat that takes more chews to grind down. This isn't the case with how Taco Sinaloa does it. The beef was tender and moist and it didn't require a workout chew. I recommend trying it out. However, if it's your first visit here, asada is a good meat topping to start. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place out. I love that it is conveniently located next to UC Berkeley. Pros: -they give generous portions of their tacos -I like that toppings are provided separately so you can add what you want Cons: -either their menu appears to be wrong or they actually charge you more than they should. Tacos should be $2.00 each if you order the regular meat instead of the specialty meats. If you order the specialty meats, they charge you an additional $0.50. However my pollo, asada, carnitas, and pastor taco were all $2.50, so after looking at my receipt I saw I paid an extra $2.00. Overall, the tacos are okay. They're not the best I've had but I would definitely come here if I'm craving tacos. I had to take 2 stars off for their misleading menu and/or for overcharging me on my order. read more

This location is definitely not my favorite due to the truncated menu. The Oakland location. Is much, much better and more diverse. We visited yesterday and unfortunately our order was partially canceled due to them not having enough ingredients for the coctel in their menu , and then 4 of our tacos were the wrong order and my daughter was left with no food (they accidentally gave us an order with crazy hot salsa doused all over the food).
