Or you're hungry and craving tacos after a rock show or LA club, this little taco shop on 9th and Broadway hits the spot. I was there on a Weds which is their "Taco Tuesday " from 8AM to Midnight even though they're open 24 hours. For $1.75 each, I had an asada (beef steak), pastor (pork), cabeza (beef head) and buche (pork stomach). All very good served Mexican Street Style on two small corn tortillas. All hit the spot and had that authentic taste. Washed it down with a pineapple agua Fresca. read more

Super solid option for street tacos in LA. And $1.75 (as of this review) on Wednesdays! I've had the asada, pollo, carnitas and cabeza and all are really solid. They're not big but I find that 3-4 fills me up at lunch pretty nicely. Ask for both the salsa verde and roja sauces when you're grabbing your order, they're great. Not really a lot of places to sit - there's a standing counter and table outside in terms of places to eat (it's just really an order counter), so it's really just taking it to-go as most convenient but for the price, super worth it. So definitely more of a local spot, casual. read more

The sign says "under new management." This is my first time here so, I cannot compare the two. I ordered two carnitas tacos and my bro got three asada tacos. We also both got horchata. The tacos were packed with meat. They offered to provide extra salsa at no cost, which is nice. At first I thought the extra salsa must be to mask the lack of flavor, but that was not the case. Both types of meat were flavorful without being too spicy. The horchata was nicely balanced. Not too much ice. Not too much cinnamon. If you need something quick and tasty, give this place a try. read more

After a Dodgers game, I got hungry for a late-evening snack. We were staying in a hotel on Broadway and noticed that this tiny eatery was still open at 10pm'ish . This part of DTLA is pretty much shuttered at the 10 pm hour. The chicken tacos are street style and very good. I pair my two tacos with a large horchata.... Satisfying and tasty. Ordering here is quick and fast. There are outdoor tables in front of the small order-up store. Very reasonable eats....just like the old days...classic. read more

Great authentic Mexican food, great prices, great customer service. What else is there to say?

Not all tacos Mexicos are created equal and this one is my favorite. This, over the years, has been a reliable drunken late night stop ~ it's cheap, easy, and has spaces and counters to enjoy your food. However, this has been my dining destination of choice as of recent because it's located right next to the Ace/United Theater. Doors typically open around 7:00PM which in theory should give you plenty of to dine before, but it doesn't because...work etc. I hate the idea of going out to dinner after the show because I don't want to be out so late on a school night, so Tacos Mexico has been coming in clutch. I personally love the carne asada burritos here - they're filled with carne asada, rice, beans and are consistently good. Anything carne asada is good actually - tacos + quesadillas. All are delicious. I always look forward to Tacos Mexico after a night at the Ace/United. read more

Cheap tasty tacos n quick service! Get them to eat there or walk around! If you get them to go they get wrapped up and soggy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR CHEAP EATS IN DOWNTOWN LA read more

Oh my gosh, the street taco tortillas were SO DELICIOUS. They had their own flavor and were so juicy and not dry AT ALL. Wow, if you're a street taco connoisseur, you know how important good tortillas are to a taco. Really yummy chicken and a GREAT price! I'm coming back FOR SURE! read more

Up until about a month ago this place was a solid 4 or 5 star taco stand. Id been going there for almost 20 years because the asada, the cabeza, hell everything was just great. Then all of the sudden they did some minor renovation work to clean it up, replaced pretty much all the staff that had been there with new people, and now its just disappointing. The meats are less flavorful or rich and the service isnt the same. Burrito with a cold tortilla?!?!?! Come on now!!! How on earth did they take a place that was so good and ruin it like this?!?!? read more

My son and I were dtla to stop at his work and before that we went to Tacos Mexico Broadway stand open 24/7,,, my son working dtla for years had never eaten there,,, so we drive up park and order, getting a carne asada burrito each and 2 asada tacos plus 2 large horchata drinks. Super delicious great everything sweet horchata!!! He now says he will get lunch there from now on. read more

I like the tacos here. For the price especially in this downtown area where tacos are 5 dollars each on average. I've only tried the carne asada tacos here and I like the flavor of the meat it's also not to fatty. The red and green salsas are pretty good also. I go on taco Wednesday you can't beat the prices. read more

I went with a friend to tacos Mexico walking after a concert at the Belasco theater. Only a short couple blocks away. Anyway, I haven't eaten there since the late 80's. It has a low Yelp ratings. I don't know why. Service was quick and speedy. Like we were just about to sit down, not even 25' away, when we were called 'cause our food was ready. Tacos and torta were filled with an abundance of meat. Not like a trendy place and were a lot cheaper for that matter. Ambiance, it's a taco spot, what do you expect. REAL STREET TACOS. Don't understand people nowadays. They want everything to be the best and don't want to pay for it. Like if they are dining at a Michelin star restaurant & only want to pay a$1 per taco. All-in-all, spot well suited for tacos. A BIG + is that they are open 24/7. Now that is areal old school street taco joint. I would stand behind my rating happily. Sorry no photos. I ate them. And, they were delicious. read more

11/8/2025 11:45 a.m. Ordered 3 al pastor tacos. No flavor, meat was shredded to the point of almost being a paste, tortilla was mushy from being wrapped in a waxy paper, smaller than average, finished in 3 normal bites. Will eat elsewhere next time I'm working in the area. read more

Classic tacos, good prices. As authentic as you can get for taco Tuesday. The ladies at the counter are usually kind and helpful

I had a decent burrito, but for the price I paid I could've gotten a great burrito at a lot of other places nearby. But the service was extremely fast. I asked for extra salsa and they reluctantly gave me some. read more

Tacos Mexico is a nice late night spot if you're walking by. They're open late, have tables, and the fastest service around. We had our food within two minutes and we weren't the only ones there. The torta was actually pretty good and refreshing. Asada was ok overall, nothing spectacular but for late night eats it was perfect. The vibe is dirty downtown la. Hard to describe the essence, but just dirty and lovely at the same time. Tacos Mexico may not be the best around, but they're around. Stop by if you're craving a taco after dark! read more

There is a reason this hole in the wall always has people lined up outside. The rice and beans are so authentic and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his quesadillas. Horrible customer service. Man serving ignored us to help people behind us and when we finally got served he then made peoples orders that came after us. He was extremely rude. When we inquired about why we hadn't gotten our food yet he said he was yelling for us to pick up the food even though we were a few feet away right in front of him and did not hear him once.. he didn't want to give it to us. Ojo raza. This hole in the wall taco stand doesn't look very pretty, but the taco & burritos are pretty tasty. Good flavor, not overly salted. Walk up window, only 2 tables out front on the sidewalk, counter available to stand and eat at. The two guys working inside are pretty nice, friendly and helpful, fast service. Parking sucks. If I could give zero stars I would. I stopped by today, got myself some tacos and burritos, and let me tell you, the Al pastor meat was inedible. The meat was already decomposed, and was able to tell by the foul smell and horrible taste, I couldn't even eat all of them, it quickly made my stomach churn. Please make sure you check your meats prior to serving them, this is what primarily causes food illnesses to customers, the lack of attention to what a restaurant is serving. I truly wish I could get my money back and hopefully don't get sick by their food. read more

Tacos Mexico - Mexican Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Tacos Mexico is a hole-in-the-wall for fast and cheap traditional Mexican food. It is located on Broadway, Downtown LA next to the Ace Hotel, it can easily be mistaken for a small newspaper stand instead of a taco stand. The area is surrounded by trendy and pricey places, and homeless people that sleep on the street nearby. This is a food joint where people that live on the Westside might as well be from outer space. This is the type of place to go for a cheap taco, enchilada, or my favorite a Carne Asada (Beef Steak) burrito. You come here after a night of debauchery, or after the a fun nigh at the Ace Theater for a quick bit. Not really a place to bring the family to for dinner, or for a kids birthday. This place only has a couple tables outside next to the street or a small hallway to stand. It is basic, no bells or whistles. It fills the need. If you want to understand Los Angeles Mexican street food in a single bite, you should probably skip Taco Bell or Chipotle and find your way to a Tacos Mexico. They have a lot of locations in California, Tuesday's is Taco Tuesday, keep that in mind for cheap tacos. It's open 24 hours, it's a great place to go after a show at the Ace, a late night of tasty libations at Clifton's or just randomly riding Metro Bikes in the area. My go-to food here is the Carne Asada (Beef Steak) burrito. When you chomp into it, the taste of the meat, seasons, onions, salt and a hint of spiciness, with a squeeze of lime is all I need for my late night munchies. read more
