I'm really disappointed. The burrito was full of grease and didn't taste fresh at all. On top of that, they forgot part of my order. When I asked about it, the lady claimed she had already given me my food, which wasn't true. I ended up waiting 35 minutes for bad service and, greasy food. This place used to be better, but the quality and customer service have definitely gone downhill. I hope they improve because right now it's not worth the wait. read more

I had eaten here before and loved it, and specifically planned my errands around the area today just for Taco Tuesday...the tacos are $1.50 (a steal) and you can load up as much of their amazing salsas, steamed veggies and spicy pickled onions/carrots as you like. She also gave me 2 bags of chips. I wish I would have taken a photo because my tacos were loaded with meat and the pastor was SO flavorful. DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE - unless you want to get mad food poisoning. I was so disappointed. I ordered Chilaquiles for breakfast from this restaurant. It looked great when I received the food that Chilaquiles were made with a green sauce topped with sunny side up egg, served with rice and beans and a side salad with tomato and avocado. The flavor was great, and I even started telling friends and coworkers about this place because I was skeptical about it at first. Unfortunately, I should have stuck to my first thought and avoided this place altogether. we popped in for some quick lunch on our way back from echo park. i ordered a carne asada burrito and my husband had 5 carne asada tacos (no pics, he eats too fast!). my burrito was huge and bomb! the meat was tasty, juicy and plentiful! the burrito was so big that it fed me for lunch and then again for dinner. yum yum. i also had an el pastor taco and the meat was a lil dry for my liking but the flavors were good. we also had a horchata which was good and not overly sweet. i would highly recommend supporting this mom and pop spot by buying a burrito or two. everyone was fast and friendly and the food was delicious! no seats inside or outside. take your food home and eat it with ppl in your household. please and thank you! read more

food was as expected! :) the reviews scared me honestly, but once i tasted the food, i relaxed. it tastes like any other regular Mexican food restaurant~ it wasn't the best tacos i ever had, but it was decent Mexican food that hit the spot when my fiance and i were hungry and not willing to wait a long time to be served. when we went around 6:45 PM on a sunday night, we were the only dine in customers, and parking was not difficult to grab. they also offer habanero sauce at their salsa station, which is something different from just the typical red and green sauces offered elsewhere. i also enjoyed the pickled onions/jalapenos. would probably eat here again if in the area~ my real rating would be more like 4 stars, but thought a little boost should help their rating go up from what it is currently :) & to clarify, no, the meat was not raw, the chips were not stale, and i did not get food poisoning after eating the food read more

We tried one of each taco. Good enough that we came back later in the evening to take dinner home. Favorite were the carnitas. They had the best seasoning. Habanero sauce bottle says "very spicy" but that shouldn't scare you off. It's a tangy sauce with a medium spice. Cashier overstated cash given (and change returned) by $30. The last time I went here regularly was a kid, and I didn't knew then that this place was a chain (ala King Taco). The reason my family haven't gone back was something along the lines of "the food's not good". Fast forward to this week, and I decide to take advantage of their dollar taco days and get four tacos. Parking is crap so I decide to park at the very narrow street. The place is small but humble. One thing to note: there are signs posted around the place that signify unwelcome guests sometimes visit the place. Granted this is a 24 hour joint located on Glendale Blvd, but I'm already on the fence about this place. The food itself? It's alright, nothing too special to cry home about. It's cheaper than other Mexican places I normally buy from, but the distance plus parking situation won't make me come out of my way to go back. And now it's no longer on my commute route home. Great deal for street style and authentic Mexican fare- I've only tried the asada, pollo, and carnitas tacos so far.... All three were delicious, especially with fresh squeezed lemon and some house guacamole sauce. They are served with onion and cilantro optional. Perfect portions for a great price- will definitely be back for the Tuesday/Thursday .95 taco special. Came after the Dodgers game today (Easter) around 9pm and they were steady with business. Counter lady was super friendly and helpful, the place was also clean. The only downside is no restroom. Definitely worth a visit for the specials to give it a try. read more

Oh boy. I've seen thousands of tacos in my day. Today I may have seen the saddest tacos in my extensive history. Stopped by & noticed it was a taco special since today was Tuesday. Taco Tuesday! Bonus! I was excited. Ordered 3 pastor tacos & a coke from friendly cashier. Unbelievable deal at $4.95! Order comes up fast. Looking at the tacos, I was a bit perplexed as they did not resemble al pastor tacos, more like grey bits of meat mixed w onions & hot salsa roja. The tortillas were fresh, hot & tasty with a nice chew. But man, the meat was not very good. Tasted not fresh & very sad as al pastor. I hope the other meats are better but can't recommend this taco. 1 star for good tortilla, 1 star for good service, 1/2 star for ultra cheap price :( read more

Impromptu visit after 11pm. Driving home from a friends. Already had dinner but had the munchies. The sign was taunting, placed in the window facing passing cars. --"0.59 tacos Tuesday and Thursdays"-- A friend had given me the skinny on this place -- Not so good, but it looked so tempting. There was a spot in the small lot and I could see through the window, nobody in line. Pulled in. Neighborhood a tad on the sketchy side, but I'm a person that can look like he's not worth messing with and I can keep my eyes to myself. Found the perfect spot. Walked in. The neon light floods the place and reflects in the graffiti lightly hewned into the orange formica table tops. I order two pollo, two asada, and two pastor tacos. "Everything?" she asks? I nod yes. Not wanting nothing to do and luckily having a quarter on me, I walk over to the bank of video machines. Ms. Pacman catches my eye. And to kill some time, I drop a quarter in. But instead of the familiar Pac Man song, a futuristic "pew pew" begins to emanate from the machine. I'm playing Galaga. It was an unexpected surprise, and even though at the beginning I was a bit rusty, will and determination to keep myself busy urged me on and I was able to pull out a few cool dodges and earn a respectable score. After my last ship and not having another quarter to continue the battle, I was forced to sit down and check Yelp on my droid. No compliments. CNN, such pabulum. An eternity rolls by and at last my order has arrived. I grab my bag, add a last minute Tamarindo Jarritos in a glass bottle and make my way to the car and back to my apt. After laying all the tacos out on a plate, and nuking a little heat back into them, I dug in. This is where the romance ended. Sadly, none of the tacos could be told apart. They all tasted the same. They all tasted like poor quality corn tortillas. The pragmatic reality that not all dives are good was hard to accept. But without risk, where would the excitement be? I ended up with fish and tortilla chips and one of the vegetable tacos was lettuce, tomato, and avocado. Every other time I order the asada tacos, they are always fatty, sometimes ridiculously fatty, and make sure you order them without the sauce. I've been twice and they've made decent food. The main reason why I go to this place is because its open late, happens to be on my way home at times, and they have refried beans. For whatever reason, most places in this city serve whole beans, and that deserves a giant thumbs down! But these guys do serve refried beans, and thats awesome! So this place overall is the kind of place you to go after youve made your rounds at the bars, and has a sort of taco-truck kind of quality to it: IE youre too drunk to notice its anything other than warm and greasy which is what you want after youve had a few too many. I have tried the carne asada, and have to say that it is not the best Ive ever had. Low quality, lots of fatty bits, and my friends who took the gamble of getting it in a burrito both wound up with a big long thick chewy line of gristle. I on the other hand tend to get a chicken and beans burrito. They hook it up with the chicken, but every now and then you get a bit of fat or a piece of knuckle in there. But these guys arent going the quality route, no. Their objective is to go with selection and hours of operation. Taco trucks have limited selection and arent always open. Many of them duck out just before the bars close, which in my mind is a bad business move. But these guys are open and ready to face the drunken mobs. Now, what I would really like to see is for these guys to take better care and use better cuts of meat (or at least cut the fat and gristle out of it), and to get a better salsa bar going. Their salsa is good, but limited. Red, green, chunky. Those are your options.
