Terrible food I ordered a quesadilla with beans which they tried adding some after it was ready and the picture is the result. Go to primo tacos truck on Mulberry. I trashed all $12 worth of food not worth the headache!!

Torta de asada with grilled onions!! Always hits the spot..

Horrible taco truck, ordered two burritos and we got nothing but beans and rice, over priced for the food you get.

There's a lot of competition for taco trucks in this area, yet this spot manages to be one of the best. The carne asada is delicious!

They have outdoor seating as well as a few seats inside. The gorditas are served well and they don't skimp on the fillings, which is great. The not so good part is that I wasn't thrilled by the flavor, but they are satisfying. My favorites so far are the shrimp, chorizo con papa, and chicharron en salsa verde. Worth a try

I came on the recommendation of Mexi - Papi, and the chicharrón and nopales torta did not…read moredisappoint. The chicharrones were beautifully crisp -- the kind of crunch that only deep frying can deliver -- savory, airy, and satisfying in every bite. I ordered one with red salsa and one with green, each served with a side of beans. And let me say this: beans tell you everything about a kitchen. When refried beans are done right, you know the rest of the food will follow suit. These had that unmistakable toasted edge -- the slight crispness that comes only from proper refrying -- rich, comforting, and deeply flavorful. If I had one note, it would be the generosity of the filling. The torta was packed so abundantly that it fell apart in my hands, forcing me to finish it with a fork. Delicious, yes -- but it loses a bit of the joy when a torta can't be eaten like one. My only misstep was visiting on a day when the outdoor seating was the only option -- not my usual preference. Will I return? Absolutely. But next time, I'll come after 7 p.m. and savor it the way it deserves.

I ordered the Lemon Pepper and Peruvian Green wings, and both were excellent. One thing people…read moredon't always appreciate is how hard it is to keep wings crispy while still coating them in sauce. This spot nailed that balance. The batter was thin, light, and crispy, while the chicken stayed juicy and tender. The Lemon Pepper wings tasted like real lemon pepper should. Instead of relying on a heavy premade seasoning, they incorporated fresh lemon zest, which gave the wings a bright, fresh and authentic flavor. I'm usually not a lemon pepper person, but these definitely won me over. The Peruvian Green wings were my favorite. The sauce was herbaceous, tangy, creamy, and packed with flavor. Honestly, put that sauce over a bowl of rice and I'd happily finish every bite. The experience was just as enjoyable as the food. Pete shared samples of his cornbread and brought a fun, confident energy that made the visit memorable. You can tell he takes pride in what he serves, and that passion comes through in the food. I'm giving 4 stars because while I genuinely enjoyed everything, I have a feeling the best is still yet to come. If this is the standard they're setting now, I'm excited to see what future menu additions and wing flavors look like. I'll definitely be back!

Best Bites has three food truck gathering in the Whittier and Santa Fe Springs area on Mondays,…read moreTuesdays, and Thursdays. My particular visit was on a Tuesday night at Pioneer high school in Whittier. There were 12 food trucks circling the edge of the parking lot. At 6:30 PM there were a lot of people eating, but not a lot of people waiting in lines at the food trucks. By 7:30 PM, most of the crowd had dissipated. When there's not a lot of business, the food truck owners tend to play on their phones. Many of my Instagram and tweets were commented or retweeted, which tells me that they were not busy enough in sales. It's an excellent food truck gathering, with plenty of choices. As a long time food truck blogger, I feel that there's too many trucks and not enough people. Best bites could reduce the trucks from 12 to say, eight trucks, and there will still be plenty of trucks for the people, and more business for the food trucks. A total win-win situation. I do like there's plenty of tables and chairs, and a DJ spinning catchy tunes. On my visit there was also a Photo Booth that the fans can use. Plenty of free parking, but unfortunately once the sun went down, the place got very dark. I hope this location continues to thrive, as the location is very good and the community seems to like it.

The salsas also tasted fresh, but they were pretty bland and had almost no spice or kick to them. The biggest disappointment was the premium arrachera burrito. For $17.50, I expected the meat to be the highlight, but instead the burrito was mostly rice and beans. The filling was also very soft and mushy overall. The arrachera itself was chopped into tiny, fatty pieces with very little flavor, and it got completely lost among the rice and beans. It didn't have the grilled, seasoned beef flavor I was expecting from a premium burrito. Maybe this is the new standard, or maybe California food costs are forcing restaurants to cut corners to keep prices where they are--I honestly don't know. But at $17.50, I expected a lot more meat and a lot more flavor. I don't mind paying premium prices for premium food, but this just didn't feel like a premium burrito. The fresh ingredients, fast service, and friendly staff were all appreciated, but the burrito itself didn't live up to the price or the reputation.
