Never been compelled to leave a Yelp review until today. Downloaded the app just to leave this review. Only because they forced me to download the DoorDash app otherwise, I wouldn't get my food they said. The wait was long, the service from the young man behind the counter was indifferent--bordering on poor, the food was excessively salty, less than ideal, and cold by the time I got home because of the wait from them making me stand there and download an app to confirm the order. I order via DoorDash web and they made me download the app because they said they needed to visually confirm me clicking "received order." Never had to do that. All in all, poor experience.

4 Taco Plate (Tuesday Special)
Richard L.

Had the Tuesday lunch special, 4 taco plate. Selected Al Pastor as meat and went with hot salsa. The meat was good and salsa started off with small amount of heat that built up toward the final taco. The lunch special turned the normal 3 taco plate into 4 tacos, making it a filling lunch. Definitely worth the price. Friendly staff and quiet atmosphere with a steady stream of to-go orders walking in.

Looking for some late lunch so grabbed 2 special Asada fries crinkle style fries, Asada and cheese topped top tomato onion chopped. I grabbed a burrito mujado. Great as always as well as filling. The proprietor always friendly sorry forget his name. I love the atmosphere of the place history along the walls. The original Joe's and the Norwalk skating ring and past customers. Atmosphere = 9 Food = 9 Wait service = 8 Specials = 8 Main proprietor = 9 I recommend this mom and pop. To sit in or to go. Got horchata and other drinks

This is another place large chili cheese fry and bacon cheeseburger for 2159 taco Joe's B Robin people

I went into this place to order a small pastrami chili cheese fry and bacon cheeseburger the price was outrageous. Small chili cheese fry and a bacon cheeseburger came out to 31.79. They charge me for a small chili cheese fry then also charge me for a a pastrami sandwich and a bacon cheeseburger then when I ask the question about does a small chili cheese fry come with the same amount of pastrami as a sandwich. The guy told me way less than a sandwich.... I just don't understand how you can charge someone and they not receive what they're charged for this place is robbery and that cook is shady. it's already hard for people out here for them to be taking people's money.

I would recommend their barabacoa plate or their tacos with buche. My husband enjoys their tacos de chicharon. They are yummy! My daughter enjoys their tortas, she goes for their al pastor or buche. We've become known to the owner that he always gives us to try something other than what we've ordered. The restaurant is a little small, but that doesn't stop customer's from coming. Spots fire , its a little hidden behind a gas station next to a barber shop. Secret menu: if you love spicy like we do, they have a habanero salsa that isn't given unless you ask for it. Thats the cherry on top of our meals there. Be warned it is spicy, but so so delicious.

My bf got a half/half wet burrito which they DONT make, so don't even bother asking for it because we asked if they do that and they said no. However, when they brought it out to us, they did accommodate us. That was a kind gesture. So A+ for that. As my bf said, we got "Yelpfished". We were born and raised in SOUTHEAST LA, where there are taquerias EVERYWHERE. I know a thing or two about authentic , Mexican, real good CARNE ASADA tacos. Unfortunately, this establishment did not meet my expectations. The meat was not carne asada meat. It was like flat milanesa meat. It lacked a little bit of flavor as well. Overall, I would not return and I can't believe the number of people that like this spot. Well, maybe just their carne asada sucks.

We usually visit their Long Beach location, so trying this location for the first time was a little foodie adventure of its own! We kicked things off with two strawberry margaritas, sweet, fruity, and refreshingly delicious, with that perfect strawberry flavor that makes you want to take another sip! For dinner, I ordered the carne asada, and hubby went with two enchiladas . The thought of savory, tender carne asada with that irresistible grilled flavor, paired with the rich, comforting flavors of Mexican cuisine, is enough to make any foodie happy! And those enchiladas? A classic, satisfying choice, packed with delicious flavor in every bite. Between the fruity margaritas, the comforting Mexican food, and the cozy date-night vibes, this was such a delicious way to end our evening! Good food, great company, and another little foodie adventure together. What more could we ask for? Also big shout out to Selene our server, she was amazing!!

My boyfriend got the 4 beef taquitos plate with rice and beans for $18 and I got the taco, enchilada, and chile relleno plate with rice and beans for $19. The prices are reasonable given that the servings were pretty big. One plate can really be shared by two people. I had leftovers, mostly the rice and beans and half of an enchilada. The crispy beef taco was pretty good, but it wasn't that crispy by the time I got home. The chile relleno and chicken enchilada were really good, but the enchilada was on the dry side and was lacking red sauce. I thought the rice and beans were just okay. I had a few bites and was done with them. I had a bite of my boyfriend's taquitos and thought they were flavorful but needed to be crispier. They gave us complimentary chips that were the size of tostadas and two 2 oz salsas. There's an additional charge for extra salsa. I know because the man in front of me was agitated about having to pay extra for salsa. I have to agree that for each plate or entree, they should at least give two complimentary salsas instead of one. If I come back here, I'll probably order a la carte. The ladies working the front were pleasant.

To top it off, the employees putting the food together were extremely rude. No customer service, no effort to help, just attitude. We spent $77 for three people, and this was easily one of the worst $77 I've spent. For that kind of money, I expect clean trays, a clean environment, decent food, and at least basic customer service. Last time coming here. You lost my business. Service: 1/5 The service wasn't the best but apparently our server was on break at the time we were seated. She didn't tell us that, nor did the person serving us, but we overheard her tell another table that was seated after us. She did come once to check up on us but unfortunately, it was too late and we were trying to forget the experience. During this time, there was a larger party of 6 that came in to dine and of course to accommodate, the workers arranged a table together; however, the way that this happened was that they were dragged the heavy tables and chairs together instead of picking them up. I'm not expecting no noise or for them to faintly put the table together, but if this is supposed to be a Michelin Guide restaurant and they want people to fully enjoy their experience, you wouldn't expect extremely loud screeching from the chairs and tables grabbed next to you. Food: 3/5 My mother got the spaghetti with added asada and it was good. My wife got the chilaquiles with tinga and it wasn't bad. The only thing that we wished was that there was more flavor to the tinga other than the salsa it was tossed in, but again, no real complaints. Come to my dish and the star of the show. They served candied pork belly with the rest of the dish in oil. The sides were tasty and flavorful but I wish it wasn't suiting in that oil. The pork belly had no chipotle flavor, and tasted just straight like agave glaze. In my opinion, it wasn't cooked that well either or maybe it was just how the dish was put together that accentuated the sweetness. The fat was rendered well but instead of the meat being crispy, it was burnt and dried out. This just soaked up all that sweetness and made the dish inedible. Since I had already shared the pork belly with my wife and mother, my wife ate the rest of my plate as it was fine like I mentioned, but I couldn't stand it anymore. Unfortunately, this didn't sit well in my body either as I ended up getting sick shortly after. I want to be fair. My instinct was to do a 1 star review but my family enjoyed their dishes and the restaurant vibes itself were very nice. Would I come back? Not if it were up to me but would I recommend it to others? Sure, but stay clear of that pork belly dish.
