On our visit they were only taking cash -luckily we had enough on us as the prices were very reasonable & portions huge! My hubby had the gigantic Chili relleno burrito with Carne asada & fresh veggies; i had the Huevos Mexicana with the very savory sauce on top that was not that spicy/perfect for my taste. I was pleasantly surprised with the homemade corn tortillas and homemade chips & salsa that came with our meals. Very clear that this place is frequented by a steady stream of regulars stopping by for take out, or sitting down for Menudo or Birria tacos. Highly recommend this place if you are hungry because of the large filling portions, quality & well prepared food at a small family run business. This location has several tables/indoor seating and was very clean/well maintained.

I ordered the three taco combo plate and you can mix and match the meats. I got all birria and it came with consome as well as rice and beans. The service was nice and quick. The tacos were very filling and the meat was juicy. The consome was really good as well. It did not have a lot of oil like other places. Overall I would for sure come back and try other things on their menu.

The sign said Taquizas so that's what we'll go with for now (though the trailer did say Magda's tacos or Tacos Magda). I ordered 3 tacos (asada, pastor, Chicken), a quesabirria and a horchata. Pastor had some nice char and was relatively tender. My favorite Al Pastor tacos pretty much always have some form/taste of pineapple but theirs to me just doesn't have it. Maybe it was drowned out by the salsa? The asada was fairly standard, nothing to write home about. Not especially tender or tough. Tad dry though. Of the regular tacos, the chicken was the most standoutish. Very moist and tender. On the negative though, it was VERY salty to the point where I almost didn't finish it. The quesabirria had some positives and negatives too. The tortilla was nicely done with just the right amount of crisp. The meat itself was a tad tough and dry though. And this is possibly the first time that I had a quesabirria that didn't come with consommé for dipping. Quesabirria just doesn't hit the same without it. And with quesabirria I also prefer that green salsa already inside it as opposed to putting it on after the fact. They had a table with all of the condiments and toppings like salsa and onions. I was more than happy to do it myself for the regular tacos. The horchata was so grainy and not refreshing at all. Not super sweet either so I guess that's a plus. Don't know how horchata is made; is it blended because if so it definitely needed to be blended even more. Or is it strained out? I don't know. The person who took my order was very pleasant though. They also got my food out pretty quickly. I don't think I could give them more than a 3/5 and that's a little generous.

I was super hungry so walked across the street to find some food. After looking into a couple restaurants in the same center, I decided to try mexican food. It's was a long line. I stopped by and ordered carne asada, a beet and carrot juice, and a guacamole. I was really happy and excited because, after a difficult day and going through chemotherapy, it sounded like the most delicious meal I could imagine. Imagine my surprise when I got home, set everything on the table, and realized my guacamole was missing. I was upset, but I thought, "Oh well." I decided to call later to ask for a refund, and meanwhile I started eating the carne asada... it was extremely dry and almost burnt. Since it was so dry, I took a sip of my beet and celery juice, only to realize it had orange and carrot in it instead, and the oranges tasted kind of rancid. So I called the restaurant to explain what happened with my guacamole and ask for my money back. While thinking about everything, it crossed my mind that I hadn't left a tip. I started wondering if maybe that was why everything went wrong. Right now I'm on disability because I'm undergoing cancer treatment and I'm unable to work, so financially things are not easy for me. Long story short, I spoke with a woman on the phone and all she said was, "Okay, you'll receive your refund in three days." What stayed with me the most was that there was no apology or empathy at all. It honestly left me feeling disappointed, and that's not okay. As a customer, especially during such a difficult time in my life, I expected at least some kindness and understanding. I'm leaving this message so management can better train their employees in customer service. It's not good to focus so heavily on tips or risk a lawsuit because of the attitude of a waitress or server.

Incredible flavor. While I waited the staff surprised me with a complimentary vampiro taco which was amazing. Toasted tortilla with melted cheese, meat, cabbage, red salsa, and avocado sauce. Perfect balance of crunch and freshness. Presentation was beautiful too honestly felt closer to a restaurant style dish than a quick taco stand. Great food and even better hospitality. I'll definitely be back.

Their website says save time and call or text your order so that's what I did. I initially accidentally texted the salida truck but they then redirected me to the riverbank location number so I texted at 8:38 to have my order ready for pick up at 6:50 since it was cinco de mayo I knew they'd most likely be busy. They never confirmed so I sent another follow up text at 11:28 am then they responded confirming that it should be ready by your birthday dinner at 6:50pm. Hence if you didn't catch that it was my birthday. I get there at 6:50 on the dot. They were busy which I figured. My daughter and I stood around patiently waiting for a few mins then no one was coming. I flagged down the gentleman and I told him I have an order pick up for 6:50 for Lisa. He said, "ok it's gonna be a few minutes it's coming up." I said ok and sat down. There were maybe about 6-8 people. Person after person is being called and I am still waiting. Even a gentleman went up and said did you forget my order so he must have been waiting some time too. Then he called me Liz waved me down to come up and said there was a confusion with orders did you order it here and I showed him the text from the number on the truck who confirmed everything. My name was not Liz. I showed him the order and he still seemed confused and said ok it's coming up. 4 more people get called and 7:20 rolls around and I'm so close to just walking out. It's cold outside, my daughter in the car hungry, family at home hungry waiting to celebrate, and to top it off it's my birthday which I informed them of at 8:38 in the morning. Finally 7:31 rolls around and he calls me Liz once again waves me down and apologizes but the damage was already done. I was upset which I'm sure he caught but I wasn't going to be rude and told him this was suppose to be ready and now I'm late to dinner. In his apologies he gave me a can of coke to make things better which I don't know how it would. He gave me 3 limes for 5 tacos and a burrito. You get one small container of consommé which I asked for another one for 5 tacos. He told me to be careful on the lids of the consommé which was already leaking out and I took out the bag but to just get all over my hands. I get home finally and the food is fresh which I'd hope it would be after I sat there for 40 mins. Now for the food the quesabirria tacos were salty but then you're heat with the spicy of the tacos that for my daughter she barely could eat it. Even I thought they had some heat to them I could only eat 1 1/2 and decided to take some tums just for the spice. My husbands burrito was okay but salty and spicy which was expected but it has salsa in it so that made sense and my husband tolerates spicy better. The final nail on the coffin and the happy birthday to me was being sick on the toilet all night to waking up this morning nauseous. I will not be returning maybe the salida truck has better service but not so much here in riverbank. Honestly I should have given 1 star but I know they're new in the area but hope they do better for others based on my experience.
