    Torta Asada
    Kelly F.

Food quality was not as expected. I purchased an Asada torta. Looks more like a rolled out mini burrito. Drinks for take out are served in a plastic baggie. What? Nothing like how it was many years ago. What changed? Everything. Poor quality. Better off with the street pop ups.

If you ever stop by here - make sure to go for their super options! These burrito and nachos of mine are super yummy. I love the big chunk of fresh avocado that was unreluctantly squeezed into these items. You can choose the meat filling, which I went for beef. They're VERY FLAVORFUL so I definitely recommend eating them with the side avocado. Cheese is extremely nice AND FLAVORFUL too! They made absolute paradise nachos. For dessert I recommend this lovely flan. It's really soft and smells sweet. Try tamarind agua fresca. along with everything to mix the flavor even more!

After a long night out I was craving some tacos. I've been to this place a few times and it does not disappoint! There is a parking lot and it is very easy to find parking! The line is usually short or non existent later in the nights which is nice! I'm not sure how it is during the day but this place is amazing for a late night meal! The horchata here is so delicious! The quesadillas are so good and it got me sooo stuffed! The tacos are great and everything is reasonably priced.

I love coming here because right when you walk in it's the cashier and you can order right away as much tacos as you want or a burrito, etc. for me I've always ordered tacos. The most I've ever ate was 4. The cashiers usually understand English so feel free to speak in English. Usually my bf orders so he speaks Spanish to them. I get steak or carne asada and they make it super quick. It comes out on the other side so you have to go there to pick it up. Then if you're eating there or taking it to go really depends on how you're making your taco. They do have to go containers already available outside so you don't even have to ask them for anything in case you're taking it. But usually we eat them there so we just layer as much onions and cilantro son top of our meat as we want. That's why I love coming here because they're not stingy with their things. Compared to other places I know!! You can put as much as you want and they won't get mad, just be careful to not spill and make a mess because no one wants that. Also their horchata is bomb!!! Love their horchata! There's a lot of open seats as well and there's a bathroom for you to wash your hands too! Definitely love coming here. It's like a fast food taco restaurant. Review #7 of 365

Gross pieces of hot dog not cooked
    Nessa D.

Great customer service but horrible tasting food! I've really tried to order different things off the menu but each time I do I'm always dissatisfied. Here's why: Tacos 3/5 The taco meat has little to no seasoning and are on the dry side. The quality of the meat isn't all that great and with the lack of good tasting marinate, taste pretty basic. What makes these tacos bearable to consume are the sides (spicy salsa and lime). Without the sides these tacos aren't very good tasting. Tacos are almost two dollars each and not worth the price. Salsa Bar 3/5 All the items in the salsa bar are inexpensive and the variety isn't all that great. They don't have cucumbers anymore (guessing because of the price)so all you get are beans, green or red salsa, jalapeños, lettuce, lime, and pickled carrots. All inexpensive items so you are not necessarily getting a deal with this "free salsa bar". Tortas 0/5 DISGUSTING! I have tried the regular and Cubano and they are both gross. The cubano being the worst tasting because they cut a hot dog wiener and put it in your sandwich raw. They put a thinly cut slab of beef (doesn't taste like beef not sure) and a thin piece of ham. There is only half a slice of cheese and hardly any beans. They add a lot of lettuce and hardly any meat. Super gross I do not recommend this to anyone. Overall this place is for a drunk night out where anything you eat tastes edible. Unfortunately I do not recommend this place to anyone that plans on eating a couple tacos sober. The food here is bland or disgusting (depending on what you order). This place stays open because of its late hrs of operation and because people think they are getting a deal on the salsa bar because it's free. In life good things are never free. If the tacos were excellent why would you need to advertise a salsa bar?

    Super Mulita, Tacos, & Burrito
    Ash G.

Stopped by Saturday night with my man & his brother to get some much needed recovery food after a night of drinks. I ordered a super mulita with carne asada and 2 tacos (1 chicken & 1 al pastor) My man got himself a burrito and a mulita, & his brother also got a burrito and a mulita. Our orders came out super delicious and in a timely manner. While our order was being prepared we helped ourselves to some limes, carrots, & sauces in the sauce area & they have beans you can take too at no extra charge like other places. My 5 star comes from not just great food, but I also noticed that the establishment looked clean which for a Saturday night that says a lot. Truly a good place for a quick bite

    No rice!

Bai

They don't know how to take orders. I didn't order this type of meat. Extremely dry. Don't recommend this place what's so ever.

For us, that's El Ranchito in Huntington Park. It's a family-owned, authentic Mexican restaurant that has had the community on its back for the last 6 decades. They hand-make the tortillas right in front of you, serve up fresh chunky guac, and make their iconic Mama Avila's soup fresh daily. It's rare that a soup has me hitting a stank face, but here we are. The Camarones al mojo de ajo is a can't miss appetizer. It's succulent shrimp sauteed in butter and fresh garlic, made to be eaten with the piping hot homemade tortillas. They have all the traditional Mexican dishes, my brothers go to is the chile relleno, but I always just run the fajitas. I'm sure I'll get clowned for this, but nothing heals my trauma and existential dread like a plate of sizzling fajitas. My pops has worked in the area for longer than I've been alive, so El Ranchito has seen every iteration of me, and of my family. For that, I am grateful. The Pollo con Rajas is creamy, cheesy, flavorful and the chicken has always been juicy underneath all that sauce, cooked perfectly. Service is attentive, the food has its charm with in-house made tortillas. It really was a hard review to write because all the elements of a great restaurant is embodied in this hidden gem. I chalk it up to ordering the wrong items. The flavors did not pop for me. Hubby opted for the chorizo and he said it was decent and he described it as "diet chorizo"--that he'd probably needed to go back to Sinaloa to capture the true essence of "real" chorizo, the way it's meant to be. The star of his meal was the in-house made flour tortillas-now that's authentic! This is/was the reason that it leaned towards a 4 star. These looked and tasted phenomenal. The aroma took me back to the times when we visited Rosarito's Puerto Nuevo, as the lady made the tortillas by hand & pressed them in the comal, ahh, good times. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with beans & potatoes. The omelette was decent with fresh bell peppers & onions but the seasoning was so mild that I requested for salt & pepper. The potatoes appeared well seasoned in color but lacked that oomph that salt & pepper couldn't fix. My apple pancakes were average. While I appreciated the strawberry compote, there was no apple or apple taste in them. To wash everything down, I had cafe de olla, that was good. The aroma of the brown sugar & cinnamon was ever present. Estrella, our server was very welcoming, attentive and friendly, she gets 5 stars for her service with a smile & hospitality. Their lunch & dinner menu looked very appealing but we wanted breakfast items. We wish we were both molé enthusiasts then perhaps we would've better appreciated & enjoyed those offerings. Both indoor & outdoor seating (front & rear), parking is free & shared with their liquor store at this corner small plaza. Beware, no restrooms available. I'm glad we gave this little shop a try.
