First time coming here, saw their page through Tik Tok and after being at the haunted house I decided to stop by and give this place a try. I am pleasantly surprised at how good the tacos de suadero are, if you tried the ones in CDMX, you know it's hard to find a legit place that serves tasty suadero. I also tried their blue corn quesadilla that had pumpkin flowers and it was also delicious! The ambiance is pretty chill for a Saturday night, I'll definitely be back here on a date or with friends. The only downside id say would be parking.

As someone who grew up in this area, it's nice to see how far this area has come about. This was my first time here and the location is super big. The artwork from the moment you enter the parking and then when walking throughout the restaurant is filled with artists that one grew up seeing or listening too and the colors are super vibrant. As for the food, the wait to order the food was a bit long but having live mariachi made it worth the wait. The tacos are filled with a lot of meat instead of what one usually would get at another location. The tacos de lengua were tender and flavorful. The quesabirrias could have a little more flavor and the consume was very oily but overall, I would come back to this location again.

This spot has a huge seating area, fun decorations and hella good deals. I went in for the $1 taco day. My fave was the Al pastor taco- adding the spicy af orange salsa and pickled onions from the salsa bar. Also the $20 deal for the margarita flight was worth it. I was feeling those drinks! Def check out those specials/deals when they pop up!

Almost a soft 4 stars. Tacos el Rulas is taco truck style food but in a large warehouse type venue w/ beautiful murals on the wall. There is a stage and it seems like they sometimes have live music some nights/days. This particular day, there was no live music however they had mariachi music blaring on the speakers. Candidly a little too loud!!!! The music was at a volume level for a large party of 200+ people yet there was no more than 15 people dining. Friendly customer service at both the food counter and the bar. My Spanish is mas o menos so I really appreciate the attendant patiently answering my questions around the menu that is 100% in Spanish. The loaded baked potato was certainly a full meal and filled w/ delicious flavor. Loved the option of different meat, I went w/ the Al pastor and it didn't disappoint. The tacos were okaaaay. The carnitas was my favorite out of also Al pastor and carne asada. However I do feel like the meet lacked flavor and seasoning. Also I didn't think the tacos were worth the $$. The highlight for me was certainly the margarita flight. Loved how there was a sample of watermelon, lime, guava and mango. The parking lot is a little small and crowded w/ taco trucks, vintage cars and honestly what looks like junk. But what is cool is there is plenty of seating inside in what is kind of like a warehouse, cafeteria and almost rave like vibe.

Tacos el Rulas was a good surprise for me. There is a small parking lot and at first, I was doubtful about this restaurant because of the limited parking I thought it would be a small restaurant inside. Surprisingly it has a big interior with a stage and a bar. Beautiful wall art encompasses the culture and sets the vibes. Music is set to fit the tone and I can assume the restaurant hosts live shows on the stage. The service I have no complaints about because when my group arrived there was not a big line. I feel the setup of ordering first and paying, seating yourself, and then bringing your order to you, works perfectly. I saw many reviews complaining about this setup, but I had no issue. The wait time was fairly quick and the staff were friendly and kind. The food was flavorful and I would return to try more menu items. The Papa Loca was my favorite and the burrito was my least favorite. I also love that they offer a toppings/salsa bar that is self-serve. They have a variety of toppings including cucumbers, habanero onions, and multiple salsas. 4 stars due to lack of consistency in the temperature of the fresh Aguas frescas, as some had ice and some were room temperature. Also, for the error in our order where we were double charged for an item, and the burrito was mediocre.

Lots of variety of foods to try from thru have good deserts too not to mention there is a bar . I really liked when they worked for the taco truck I always liked their taco Tuesday's as they done with plenty of sides . They are open until 2 am if I'm not mistaken.

    Micheladas camaron, licuachelada

I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time, and I've finally got the chance to do so. As soon as you walk into this place you order first and they give you some chicharrones on the house and a number so they can bring your food. Micheladas had good flavor that licuachelada was so big I didn't think I was gonna be able to finish it. Molcajete was packed and oh so flavorful, the hot Cheeto tacos were really good, they sure don't skimp on the meat, I like the added fries they give you. The only thing I didn't like were the papas de camaron, it was pretty much dry and the shrimp were overcooked, it lacked flavored I would honestly skip on this one. Also do skip on the Michelada de camaron just get a regular michelada, again shrimp were overcooked, hence the minus star I'm giving. It could be just my luck, or that's the way they cook them. Other than that everything else was delicious, drinks are good and this place is such a vibe to come hang with friends and listen to some good music or admire the beautiful murals while eating some good food. I'm looking forward to come back again to try their other items!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Food was disgusting for the price! We ordered a torta and a shrimp plate and a drink total came out to $60. Shrimp plate only came with 6 shrimps, for it being $22 I expected more. The torta was hella dry and had no flavor, the bread was so thick and the torta barely had any meat! Never will I come back and seems like everyone had the same experience, I'm sure we got food poisoning from here as well because my whole family had the runs after eating here

Upon coming in Garrison welcomed us in and took care of all of our questions and needs. It was very warm welcome to Tacos El Rulas. Ive seen Tacos El Rulas before and it was nothing what i remebered! Ive been here before and I am so happy but the ambiance and service was incredible! As for the food.. Increible tacos! Photo included. But my highlight was Betty the bartender. She is very sweet and she makes the best Palomas you'll ever have! Highly recommended don't let the old reviews fool you! This is a incredible spot and i will be back. Thank you to the staff of Tacos El Rulas!

The menu offers a good variety of Mexican inspired dishes, from tacos and birria ramen and burritos. Everything we tried had great flavor and was clearly made fresh. The sauces, seasoning and overall balance of the dishes were definitely the highlight of the meal. We ordered quite a few items including quesabirria, shrimp tacos, a burrito and birria ramen. The shrimp tacos were especially flavorful, topped with a creamy sauce that paired really well with the shrimp. The quesabirria tacos also had that nice crispy texture with the rich birria flavor that people look for. The restaurant itself is clean, organized and well set up, with outdoor seating available which is nice on a sunny day. It has a relaxed vibe where you can sit down with friends and enjoy your food without feeling rushed. The only thing I noticed across several of the dishes was that the portions of meat felt a little light compared to the tortilla or toppings. The flavor is absolutely there, but a slightly more generous portion of meat would make these dishes even better. Overall, solid spot with great flavor and a fun menu. With just a little more generosity on the protein portions, this place could easily be a standout taco spot.

Super flavorful, satisfying, and just hit the spot in a way I wasn't expecting. At first, I thought it was a little pricey, but once you get the burrito, it makes sense. It's dense, filling, and honestly a big burrito--you're getting your money's worth. Though this spot is known for their chicken, I didn't really experience anything unique about this wrapped meal. It was delicious and tasted how it should be, but I was hoping the "star" of this meal would be their chicken. I ate my burrito immediately and it was served at a decent temp. Perhaps, I'll give Don Rafa a 2nd chance and order a half (or whole chicken). The Birria Pizza looked appetizing as well. Don Rafa is located inside of the Food Barn Market and reminds me of a Latino version of a Pacific Supermarket. The restaurant appears somewhat modern, tidy and spacious, while the rest of the market area seems outdated.

And since they ran out of tongue, they offered the beef cheek called cabeza. Surprisingly the cabeza was more tender than tongue. The tacos came with radishes and pickled onions. They have very good tasting homemade chips and one of the best salsas I've had in a restaurant. The red salsa is kind of spicy so it takes getting used to. The shrimp burrito 12.99 didn't have a lot of shrimp but didn't have a lot of cheese and sour cream. The flavor was good but I warned you that since the shrimp is coke with butter, this is the greasiest shrimp burrito you can possibly eat. The oil literally was coming out of the foil. So I think the lightest dish they have is their shrimp tacos which comes in a set of two for about 12.50. The shrimp tacos have vegetables in it and the shrimp is also cooked in butter as well. This place is very authentic so I have a feeling that they use lard in their beans. This is definitely not a place you would go if you were on a low fat diet. The restaurant plays very loud authentic Mexican music. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you want authentic food but definitely take it to go. Parking was not a problem.
