So saddened to post this review. We have been enjoying food from this local truck for many years. Seems like they changed the workers that fill orders. I have special needs when it comes to food and lately they cannot get my order right. Ordered a chicken burrito all meat with lettuce, extra meat, no onion, no rice and no beans. That's what an all meat burrito is. They cannot get it right and then we have to go back and spend time and energy to reorder. What about no rice and beans can they not understand? Cannot even get my husbands order of all meat barbacoa right. Extremely delicious Mexican food! I have to say, they are my favorite because 1- they are 3/4 of a mile from me so I can walk off those calories back home. Lol 2- their prices are extremely reasonable. I really like their carnitas and carne asada, the meal I get the most is the torta de asada with no onion, and ask to add some beans to the torta. Went there because of the reviews listed here. Ordered a vegetarian burrito. The lady who took my order was very nice. The wait was about 3-5 min. The place seemed clean and well kept. Had a lot of customers come in the 10 min I was there. So I'm guessing it's very popular. The food was 6/10. Portion size 10/10. Didn't get extra condiments, guess you have to ask for them. I stopped by this taco truck to pick up a quick burrito for dinner at about 8:45pm the other night. I was happy to see they were still open. NOTE: the address is approximately 159 Tonea Wy with the entrance on Esplanade (just north of Eaton Rd). I ordered a carne asada regular burrito, which came with rice, beans, onions, cilantro and meat for $4. The lady who took my order was really nice. The truck and surroundings were very clean and you could tell that they tried hard to keep it looking nice. There is a cute little lighted & covered seating area where I waited for my order. As I waited, I snapped a few pics of the truck for my review, and the owner came by to talk to me. He said (jokingly) that there would be a $5 charge per photo. He was sort of a character, but I like that. It's nice when people have a sense of humor about things. My burrito was completed quickly and I paid and took it home. It was a good burrito - lots of meat that had good flavor and texture. Not too much beans or rice - just the right amount in my opinion. One thing that I didn't like that much was that they used a tortilla that was way too big, so there was a "wad" of extra tortilla. Not a big problem, but I would prefer not to have that. The mild, green salsa they gave me was very tasty and the limes I asked for were fresh and plentiful. This is a great place to get a burrito in a hurry. I recommend it!! read more

I like to judge a taco truck based on their chicken burrito. This place has a phenomenal chicken burrito, it is usually very juicy in an amazing way. Also, I highly recommend the veggie burrito! When it's good it's great! But probably 1/4 times there's something off - either they've ran out of avocado, they forget an ingredient, or the meat is wrong. I want so badly to say without a doubt this is my favorite taco truck in town, but the chance of something going wrong is a little too high. So good! Just like Mexico. The asada is the best in Chico. All their meats are cooked very well, never any fatty pieces, yuck. I like their salsa has a lot of flavor, spicy but not too spicy. They always give as much lime, salsa, jalapenos as you want but you gotta ask. Super cheap too!! I'm not a fan of the bread on the torta, its a little bland and the tecture is not that great but not bad for a torta in Chico. the ingredients are good quality and fresh and the service is super friendly and quick. We got carnitas burritos & two tacos/ pastor & barbacoa. We are big Mexican food eaters and have done so all over Ca, Mexico & the US. None of us were that impressed. All of our tortillas were cold, the cheese was cold, the meat was luke warm and the burrito was loosely wrapped. The carnitas was over fried and unedible at parts/ way to hard. I'm unsure if they pickled the jalapenos based on how they tasted and if so they didn't for very long. This was disappointing since I really enjoy them.
