Great tacos, relatively cheap. Not fancy at all, just delicious. Al pastor was great, chicken & beef fajita were also solid. Service was great.

Great taco place. I believe here is very authentic. When I ordered food, the server said" Hola" .This meant very Mexican. The food was great. I loved it. While I was waiting, a Mariach musician came, he sang! Good job!

Amazing tacos for a great price. Always get their birria (pictured below). They even give you nanchos and do while you wait! Very affordable and very good Pro tip: they have 1 dollar tacos on Wednesday if I'm not mistaken

The bf has been looking for an authentic Mexican street taco place in Houston for quite some time now - not the Tex Mex style tacos that most popular places seem to serve, but the type of tacos you get walking down the streets of Mexico in the little vendor carts! He found this place yesterday and I haven't seen him so happy after he took the first bite - he said "I finally did it!" Triumph! LOL! It was super funny. The restaurant is located on Bellaire and the exterior looked a bit sketchy - but that's all it was, just the facade. We ordered for pick-up so I didn't go inside, but it looked like there were a lot of cops dining inside and the locals who knew what's up! The lady at the counter was friendly and we got our food quickly after placing the order over the phone - it took about 20 mins. We ordered a ton of food. The bf got some gorditas and tacos on corn tortilla; I got the crispy beef taco plate with rice and beans and 2 tacos on flour tortillas on the side. Yum yum yum! The crispy tacos were crispy and loaded with meat, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream - crispy but not greasy tasting. The tacos were where it's at though - pastor was flavorful, barbacoa was delicious and the fajitas was on the lighter side but with the spicy salsa and lime, it was delish! We ate every single bite of everything and enjoyed it a lot!!! We found out Wednesday was $1 taco night and plan on ordering again tonight for dinner!! I think the bf found his new favorite taco place in the whole city of Houston! Yay to delicious hole-in-the-walls serving the best foods! Watch out for the spicy red sauce though cause it is fire!!!

With Taco Tuesday being my jam, I had to stop here. The restaurant is authentic Mexican with traditional dishes like ceviche, gorditas, and tortas. And of course, tacos! They've got traditional proteins in the flower or corn format. The lengua and pastor were tasty. I found the Cameron (shrimp) to be a bit tough. Breakfast tacos were alright. The disappointing part was the tortillas. They fell apart the moment I picked them up. I had to eat the tacos using a spoon since the tortilla would crumple. It's likely due to the drive home as they sat wrapped up for a while but i haven't had this issue with other taco spots. Maybe the tortillas were a bad batch? I heard they have taco specials on Wednesday so perhaps I'll give it another shot. But not on Tuesdays anymore.

Tip go on Wensday for 1.25 tacos . I came here with my dear friend. Its a small restaurant that sells traditional mexican food. The promotion for Wednesday's is 1.25 per taco so 3.75 for 3 we got 10 and my friend got a coffee for about $3 it had free refills. The bill was 17 a tip was given. My favorite was barbacoa. I actually liked the sauce oposed to the fresh sauces Free chips was given as well the chips tasted incredible.

I went here after doing some research on where to get tacos. The food looked pretty good so I wanted to try it anyway, but I learned that they have $1.25 tacos all day on Wednesdays. Specials - $1.25 tacos after 3pm on Tuesdays - $1.25 tacos all day Wednesday - Other daily specials for each day The special does not include the special meat tacos, but there are plenty of other good regular meats to choose from. Note that older reviews will say $1 tacos but they are now $1.25. Location On Bellaire. It's located in a strip mall with easy parking. Parking lot is a little beat up but that's typical for the area. Inside The inside is pretty standard. They've got big TVs. They started playing music when I was there which was nice and loud. It's clean. Service Service was attentive and kind. I was checked on regularly. Food When you dine in, they serve chips and various salsas. I ordered beef and al pastor tacos. They came with lime. The beef was alright but al pastor were pretty good. Tacos weren't greasy like some places. Sauces They have sauce bottles at the tables and I did like them both. The red sauce that can with the chips were good. In total there were 5 different sauces for me - 3 from the chips, and 2 at the table. I'd definitely come for these tacos again. They have a large menu and the prices are good but I just think their tacos for $1.25 on Tuesday and Wednesday can't be beat.

    JUICY quesabirria taco

Close your eyes. Imagine a world with no pain, no sadness, no anger. Just tacos. Delicious, juicy, saucy tacos. Now open them and rejoice. You're at Tacos El Jaibo, the closest you can possibly get. This is what martyrs have died for! I have to thank my fellow Yelper's for this gold. I've been provided testimonies, pictures, a phone number, and menus. It was up to my skeptical stomach to decide whether this or a nice po-boy would come home with me. We'll skip the internal fight dialogue-- tacos always wins. I called in for 2 quesabirria tacos, 1 fajita on flour, 1 fajita gordita, some caldo tlalpeño, and a large horchata. I wanted to sample a bit, and made my own "sample platter" that came out to about $24. It was a slow Monday evening when I walked in, a typical hole-in-the-wall comforting a handful of families within, whom were all enjoying the leisure of no dirty dishes to wash. The young lady at the counter had life to her-- nice, quick and attentive. Smiled with her eyes. I safely assumed my food was going to be packed considerably with plenty of condiments and I was right. My soup was packed with the might of double bagging-- once in a sturdy paper bag, and once more in an actual plastic bag. So when the soup tipped over when I Tokyo Drift'd home, my panic was meaningless because the soup was completely intact except for minor dribble. That dribble might've came mostly from my own mouth though. CALDO TLALPEÑO. GET IT. It comes in a big 32 oz container-- half rice at the bottom, mostly soup with the perfect amount of chicken and veggies. It was still piping when I added the crisp tortillas, and I could die happy with this alone. Well-seasoned, but not overly salty, think of this soup as Campbell's unrealized dreams. - FINGER LICKING SCALE: 8.5/10 FAJITA TACO (flour). Meat is well-seasoned, onions and cilantro fresh and crunchy. The verde sauce they provide? Icing on the cake. - FINGER LICKING SCALE: 8/10 FAJITA GORDITA. Drooling. Masa was soft with good flavors, and meat see above ^. - FINGER LICKING SCALE: 7.5/10 QUESABIRRIA TACOS. Perhaps the best I've had. They're the size of mini tacos, but the flavors are rich. They provide a small cup of birria and I had no qualms slurping it all up. There were little tidbits of shredded meat in it, and the flavors were astounding. - FINGER LICKING SCALE: 10/10 HORCHATA. Good consistency, not thick like some place, sweet and fulfilled my sweet tooth. While I don't think I will call this the best taco spot I've ever been to (I'm reserving that for when I die and arrive at the gates of Taco Heaven), Tacos El Jaibo is definitely one of the best spots in Houston when it comes to authentic Mexican food. If you would love to support local businesses for generations to come, I highly recommend stopping here to fulfill all of your wildest taco dreams.

    Quesabirria
    Pris T.

Say what you will, but the flavors are there. It is a small hole in the wall tacos place in Bellaire, but their food is delicious. My go to is always the quesabirria. My friends tried various tacos molleja and asada and all were happy with their choice. I had taken a bad ass boomerang of the juice dripping, but I didn't realize you can't post videos. I'd say if you are in the area give it a try. I'm pretty particular on the type of Mexican food I like since I went to school in San Antonio, so I take my tacos very serious.

    Carlin T.

I'm pretty sure that I looked lost to the employees at the front - and yes I was but not in a disappointing way at all. Their front is wrapped in menu item pictures and specials. As a California girl, I was missing my grilled fish tacos with all the lettuce on a corn tortilla. I laughed with the women at the front about it and really appreciated that they could accommodate for my food restrictions. I ended up being able to FINALLY get a taco similar to the ones I'm used to in CA. Although they weren't exactly the same, I would get these again and add some of my own fixings. The price is incredible and the staff is just lovely.

This is a great place if you're looking for some yummy authentic Mexican food! I've been here multiple times with my sister, we enjoy the food every time! I always enjoy getting the chicken fajita and cactus tacos on their handmade tortillas which are a must try. They also have the best guacamole, you have to come here!

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

Ambiance: upon walking in, it was chaos and sooooo many people standing up and sitting down. Walking around with drinks. I felt like I was in a club. A server made her way to me to take my Togo order. While waiting, I grabbed a drink at the bar and just made the happy hour cut off. Service was great as I was able to get my order and it was a large order. Everything was correct. The house margarita was ok, I wish I had gotten the hibiscus flavor. Order; Crab Tostadas Mixed Fajitas Snapper Mole Enchilada Ninfa 2 Tacos Margarita Mix The only thing I would order again is the crab tostadas and the beef fajitas. The chicken had no flavor at all. The charros beans and rice were not anything special. I was not a fan of either. Overall, we are not planning to order from here again. It just wasn't what Mark Weins made it seem like on his review. Also, whoever the driver was practically could not wait for me to turn around. Sorry, I had to take a pic. Very rude.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

It definitely is enough for 2. The meat melts in your mouth. EVERYTHING is better quality than here. Teo charged $1.50 for perhaps 4 or 5 slices of lime to make the happy hour margaritas made with a gross mix drinkable. That's outrageous. It reminds me that I had stopped going long ago when they charged extra for onions on enchiladas. Come on. You don't charge extra for chopped onions! I have never been to another restaurant that does so. Some even provide carmelized grilled onions gratis. I'm convinced that a $15. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
