For this week's review, I chose Tacos El Guero, and it's easily one of my favorite food trucks in Birmingham. If you want something quick, authentic, and actually flavorful, this is the spot. Every time I go, the food tastes super fresh. The tortillas are warm, the meat is well-seasoned, and nothing feels overly greasy or heavy. I usually get a mix of tacos and they are always so good. They keep it simple with toppings like onion and cilantro, but the flavor speaks for itself. The sauces they give on the side are also really good and add the perfect amount of heat. The service is fast and efficient, even when there's a line, and the staff is always friendly. Since it's a food truck, it's more of a grab-and-go experience, but that's part of what makes it fun and casual. Overall, I'd give Tacos El Guero 5 stars. Tacos El Guero is a food truck that sits in a Shell gas station. The service is a bit slow and a bit impersonal, but the food more than makes up for it. I chose three tacos and the total was just a bit over nine dollars after these and all. I went with a campechano taco, an asada taco and a carnitas taco. The campechano taco was by far my favorite. The carnitas taco would probably get my second choice and then the asada taco. But do not misunderstand, they all were excellent tacos. They also had a few tables under a tent of you want to dine there. Not the biggest ambiance, but it works. Since it was a chilly night in December, I ended up eating my feast in my car. This is a solid choice if you are craving some good Mexican food. I would definitely recommend this Mexican food truck and they definitely earned my recommendation. I will give here five stars overall. read more

Steak, Chorizo, and Campechano tacos were very hard to beat. I went on a Saturday at 8pm and got my food within 5 minutes of ordering it. Tacos came with onions, cilantro, along with sides of red and green sauce. Great takeout or quick eat spot. read more

Unfortunately I gobbled my steak tacos too rapidly and didn't get a picture, but they were killer on flavor, freshness, and proportions! The tacos were small but piled high with steak, cilantro, and onions and very filling and served with lime wedges. I ordered 3 and was plenty full after! It came with two sauces that tasted like jalapeño and maybe habanero? They were too hot for me, but they were on the side so no problem there. The tacos were so flavorful on the freshly made corn tortillas (doubled up for no leakage :). My order took less than 5 minutes to be ready -- speedy! There's also a covered seating area next to the food truck for folks to sit in if they choose. Very very yummy, and I'm excited to go back and try something new! read more

I'm so glad I found this little spot on Google maps because it was legit. Don't be scared of the food truck in the gas station parking lot because the food is so good and so authentic. I had three tacos: chicken, steak, and pastor. The pastor was my favorite but all were delicious. The food came out crazy fast as well. read more

While this location is difficult to get out of with it being right off of highway 280. This taco truck located next to the Shell gas station is an excellent place to get street tacos and other food options like quesadillas and tortas. The service was quick as I just had enough time to go in the gas station and my food was already waiting on me by the time I got back. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch or for a late night meal. read more

I've tried 10+ taco trucks in the bham area, I think this is the king. I have not ordered anything outside of tacos but I don't need to do so. My favorites are the lengua, pastor, and asada. No hard bits, no nasty things that should've been trimmed away. I'll keep trying taco trucks around town but this one is top of my list for now. Wish I could give them 10 stars. read more

I went to my favorite taco truck in town today. Tacos El Guero is in a great location right off of highway 280 and their tacos are pretty good! The pork is a little spicy, but I typically order a side of avocado to help balance out the spice. They're never skimpy on the onions and cilantro, which adds tons of flavor to the tacos. This place is covid friendly since it's outside and they offer outside seating. The tacos are served in a styrofoam container and a paper bag is used for carry-out. I'd highly recommend giving this taco truck a try! read more

I was a little skeptical of this location at first, especially due to it's location in the parking lot of Shell, but I have not been disappointed in the slightest with the food. The tacos al pastor are the best that I've found in central Alabama, and the steak and cachete tacos have also been wonderful.
