Everything I have gotten from this food truck has been quality, and very quick, the woman up front was very nice and welcoming as well.

I didn't realize i had not reviewed before. I have been to this food truck several times now and will continue to come back when I get a chance. It is located in the Edwards Lake Road Lowe's parking lot near the back of the Staples. Looking back over my check in photos, I have consistently ordered the Campechano Tacos which is a typical go to for me with any taco truck. On my most recent stop I ordered the Campechano Quesadilla instead. While I did enjoy it, I think next time I get a quesadilla, I will try the Pollo or Asada instead. I was also very tempted by the tamales and plan to try them on a future visit. I timed my visit just right and was able to order with no wait because almost immediately several people showed up behind me. OMG!!!! After a long ride from Dothan, AL my husband and I decided to try El Compa while waiting to pick up our daughter. When I say that was the BEST decision we made all day!!! My Husband ordered the Steak Gordita and I ordered the Birria Quesadilla! The flavor was perfect, the food was fresh, the meat was tender, and the service was A1!! We highly recommend 10 out of 10!! Me and the boyfriend ended up getting something to eat from this food truck. Everything's looks tasty from the menu which made it difficult to choose from. I ended up getting a steak quesadilla and my boyfriend got the steak burrito. I also added 3 chicken tacos and some chips and queso dip towards our lunch. They gave us a pager which I find interesting since most food trucks don't do, but we just waited in the car until it went off. The taste of the quesadilla was good, but wish it had onions and cilantro inside to give the quesadilla more flavor. My boyfriend enjoyed his burrito which was huge. The chicken tacos was awesome and it had plenty of chicken. The sauce for the food was ok. The hot sauce that supposed to be hot wasn't hot enough for me. The chips and queso dip was awesome. Great Customer Service!! The food was quick... Which in this case wasn't a good thing.. I ordered two beef premium tacos... nothing premium about it but the cost.. $4.00 each.. I took one bite and unfortunately was disappointed.. It was DRY, the onions were so small, I could barely see it.. Probably will not return, but heyyy!!! Ok, so I had been craving birria tacos since having them in Huntsville a few weeks ago. Those were delicious so the bar was set really high for any future birria taco encounters. I was excited to try el compa as their yelp reviews were pretty impressive. I came on a Saturday afternoon and I was able to order right away bc I already knew what I wanted.... BIRRIA tacos and I also added a small chips & queso . Once I placed my order I was given a buzzer and told my food would be ready in about 10-15 mins. This was about accurate. I enjoyed the birria tacos (3) but they weren't as good as the ones I previously had. Still tasty but lack some flavor. I did NOT love the chips served with the queso. They were stale for sure! Nothing like a bag full of stale chips to go with some pretty decent queso . This was disappointing! I would come here again because I would love to try more of their menu items. Ok. I think I've found my new favorite taco truck. And I can't believe I slept on this place for so long before trying it out. I've seen the truck around Trussville for quite sometime now, but only recently stopped. And I've come back several times since that first visit! Everything that we've gotten has been great : tacos, soaps, barilla special. Everything is so fresh and tasty.... And portions are very generous! Love supporting this local food truck! read more

This is our new guilty pleasure. We really enjoy their food, and have been several times over the past few weeks. The staff are friendly, and the food is out fast. You can even call in your order ahead of time, or order online. The food itself? Glad you asked! They have VERY generous portion sizes, especially compared to other taco locations / trucks. The meat is literally falling out of the taco because they are so stuffed. As for the flavors - I've tried several, and they are all, so far, very good. The barilla special is great, esp when dipped in the sauce/soup that comes with it. The carnitas (fried pork) and the steak are good, but my favorite is the chorizo. It has such a good flavor without being too spicy. We'll be back, of that I have no doubt. I just wish we had known about them sooner. If you're out and about in Trussville and see their truck, give them a try. You'll enjoy it! read more

An absolutely delightful experience!! The foot was outstanding and service so pleasant! The outstanding food in my opinion was my gordita! I got the pastor gordita and it was so incredibly delicious--highly recommend. My husband likes the burritos and both the steak and chorizo, and the birria were delicious. He says the food is a 12/10! High praise from two people who love food! Chips and salsa were fine, but nothing special. Standout is their main entrees! Will be back soon! read more

My love and I were craving tacos after a long evening of shopping and discovered this GEM not even a full 10 mins from our house! The service was so fast and the woman in the truck was so kind. There's a picnic table next to the truck, so we were able to sit outside and enjoy our delicious dinner. We both got the birria tacos and they did not disappoint! These were some of the best i've ever had. Then it started to get a little dark outside and she came out and strung some lights around the top of the tent. So the mix of delicious food, cooler weather, and soft lights made for a lovely little dinner outing. This is definitely a new spot added to our list of local favorites! read more

Really good Birria Tacos. Lots of delicious flavor, not too heavy on the onions or Cilantro. The soup was perfects. 11$ special for 3 and soup I added a 4th for 15$ total. Arrived around noon and had about a 10 minute wait. Fresh and hot. Will be going back for more. read more

I legitimately drive across town (30+ minutes) to eat at this food truck. Specifically for the sopes! Everything is really flavorful and fresh! I got the sopes (veggie) and a veggie taco. My husband got a veggie burrito. We also got a side of queso and chips. They offer black beans and refried beans. The burrito was stuffed full! I enjoyed the taco, but truly love the sopes. Thick soft masa (corn) base with refried beans (you can choose any of their meat options as well) and topped with lettuce, tomatoes and onions. They were both serve with a salsa verde (more mild) and a spicy red sauce. Queso was fairly generic, but went well with the meal. The chips were a nice thick version (vs a thin restaurant style). Wish I could eat here weekly! They post on their Facebook page where they will be, but typically not until the day of. Stopped by, first time, and had some tacos. Everything I tried was excellent. Chicken, steak, tongue, ground beef, all seasoned very well. It wasn't overcooked or undercooked, it was just right. The meat didn't have much gristle in it like some places do. The only thing I didn't like was the ground beef was too greasy, enough to saturate both tortillas and half of the styrofoam container. But overall everything else was A+ and I'll definitely be back. read more
