Steak Burrito 2 Birria tacos 2 carne asada tacos

Went here with my dad and had an amazing experience. Got up to the taco truck and ordered and it came out within minutes. They gave us a salsa verde and a salsa rojo. Both very taste and not super spicy. The steak burrito was my favorite thing. It had so much flavor and was huge for only 10 dollars. My next favorite was the Birria tacos and then the carne asada tacos. I will definitely be coming back again and again for lunch. This place is amazing and they do it right. The ambiance is super cool and neat as an authentic Mexican Taco Truck.

My favorite taco truck since moving to dsm! There is so much packed into these tacos followed by a decent price! Also they serve them incredibly fast. This location is cash only, I typically order 4 chicken tacos, and the total price is just $8! I especially like coming here on a nice day. The location is in a parking lot and they have a couple of tables, or you could just eat in your car. They're definitely best fresh.

12 tacos divided in 4 tacos per bundle based on the meat.

My favorite taco truck in Des Moines for authentic street tacos. The meat is always flavorful and they don't skimp on the salsas, cilantro, lime wedges, or roasted chiles and grilled onions. It was super cold on a Friday night when I called and placed an order for 12 tacos. They said they would be ready in 10 minutes and by the time I bundled up and got to the truck, they were ready to go. They smelled so good on the way home it was hard not to eat one on the way. Luckily, I leave super close so they made it home with none missing. I got 4 carne asada, 4 al pastor and 4 cabeza tacos. It was the first time I had cabeza tacos and they were EXCELLENT. The meat was super tender, moist and flavorful as though marinated several hours and slow cooked to lock in the flavor. That's going to be my go-to from now on. I had the carne asada and al pastor tacos before and while they were as delicious as I remembered, the cabeza tacos were by far the stand-out for me. They have other items on their menu, like burritos, quesadillas and tortas but I love their tacos so much that I've never tried their other menu items. Tacos were $2 each. A great price for all that deliciousness!

Delicious carne asada tacos. I like the green salsa best.

Carne asada tacos with green salsa are my favorite! Opens at 10am, perfect . I always get tacos, haven't tried anything else.

I tried the pork taco and the beef taco. Both were very fresh and tasty. Also plenty of cilantro and sour cream. The red sauce has lots of heat but really liked the verde. Husband had the burrito, which was enough for two people. So glad we found this place. We will return again and again!

They have the best food truck for authentic street tacos. They are consistent and have been for many years. Highly recommend. They take cash only and with all things prices have increased. The photos of the menu were taken on 2/7/2022

I was really hoping to be blown away based on the reviews I've read thus far. I ordered the "seasoned" pork (1 flour and 1 corn tortilla) and also the lengua taco (1 flour and 1 corn tortilla). I wasn't that impressed! These tacos had no flavor at all, even when I added the accompanied red and green sauces. Had to add some of my own seasoning to it. The tacos tasted great after I added flavor to it. The lengua taco with the corn tortilla (post-seasoning) was really good - very tender meat.

Lengua, pastor, and asada tacos. Lengua was my favorite but all so dang good!

The tacos were incredible. I ordered 1 lengua, 1 pastor, and 1 asada. They were all packed with flavor. They had plenty of meat, onion, and cilantro. The lengua was hella tender and so so good. The red salsa was nice to add some heat and the mild green salsa really brightened up tacos. The fixings were very good too, loved the onions and spicy peppers. Service was fast and friendly. Has a nice little place to hang out and eat. Highly recommended for authentic mexican street tacos. The best I've had in Des Moines so far. \m/

ALWAYS. AWESOME. This is my go-to taco truck in Des Moines! They're super quick and super delicious! All taco orders come with grilled onions and jalapeños, and both salsa rojo and salsa verde. I always get the cabeza (side note: this is one of the few places that actually have cabeza and is done well!), the lengua, and the tripas (extra crispy!). They literally NEVER disappoint! They are cash only so come prepared! Tacos are about $1.50-$2.50 each depending on your meat. All come standard with cilantro and white onions but you can add toppings like cheese, lettuce, and sour cream for an up-charge. They're closed on Sundays but are usually around pretty late in the evening all the other days. They have other menu items like burritos, tortas, flour tacos, and quesadillas but I have only ever stuck with the tacos although I have heard good things about it all. This is a MUST TRY if you haven't already! For-warning, however, the parking situation sucks..

AH!!! Started off my Cinco De Mayo right eating here! So mad I didn't get a photo of my wife's torta. The food here was so delicious and perfectly on point. One of the best food trucks ever.

Real street tacos. Doesn't get better than this!

The service was fast but the meat in the tacos was dry, the chicken in la torta was flavorless and the bread was soggy.

Ask the Community - Tacos Degollado

    Do you cater?

I've never seen any signage at the taco truck that says they do (or don't). It may be worth connecting with them via their Facebook account to see if that is an option.

    Is Tacos Degollado open year-round?

They usually close in December and re-open in late February or early March.

My son lik3d his empanadas. My mom and I picked some tapas, and they were both good. However we were really disappointed by the tiniest tiniest little charcuterie. 30 bucks, and it said served 4 for snacking? There was a huge bag of random crackers that was a larger serving than the actual charcuterie. We were so peeved about this! The quality of the other food we ordered was great but definitely skip the charcuterie. And don't bank on more than 2 bites of food per person or everyone will be hungry and you'll end up eating costco corn dip and chips like us!

Other than the crowd caused by the Summer Stir though, we found this place to be quite unique and ended up staying for a bite to eat and a cookie. We saw a large pan of paella cooking outside on the sidewalk and saw the signs that Friday is their Summer Paella Night. Given how much we like paella, we ordered a serving. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture, but it was served in a cardboard box for carryout and tasted very good. I should point out that other orders in the restaurant were served on nice plates with silverware so the cardboard seemed unique to the paella and to go. After seeing the cookies in the display case by the front door, I couldn't leave without trying at least one of them. I ended up ordering an Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookie (see picture) and shared it with my wife. I'm a sucker for sweets...and when you combine espresso, chocolate and sea salt sprinkled on the top - you can't go wrong. It is delicious and I highly recommend that you stop by and try one yourself! If you found this review helpful, please show your appreciation with a Like or a Follow.
