    Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookie

4.25* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 4* Service: 4* 07/21/2023 We had not heard of this place and only stopped in because it was one of the stops on the Summer Stir. Other than the crowd caused by the Summer Stir though, we found this place to be quite unique and ended up staying for a bite to eat and a cookie. We saw a large pan of paella cooking outside on the sidewalk and saw the signs that Friday is their Summer Paella Night. Given how much we like paella, we ordered a serving. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture, but it was served in a cardboard box for carryout and tasted very good. I should point out that other orders in the restaurant were served on nice plates with silverware so the cardboard seemed unique to the paella and to go. After seeing the cookies in the display case by the front door, I couldn't leave without trying at least one of them. I ended up ordering an Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookie (see picture) and shared it with my wife. I'm a sucker for sweets...and when you combine espresso, chocolate and sea salt sprinkled on the top - you can't go wrong. It is delicious and I highly recommend that you stop by and try one yourself! If you found this review helpful, please show your appreciation with a Like or a Follow. Such a cute little place! Food was awesome, cookies are excellent too! We shared a bunch of stuff and enjoyed a beverage. It's bright, cheerful and the food was all wonderful.

    Charcuterie board (small)

There are a lot of superlatives in my vocabulary that I could use to convey how fabulous the experience was here on Thursday evening! Unexpected. Exquisite. Delicious. A beautiful smaller/quaint bistro-like dining establishment in Des Moines East Village - you can't help but sort of fall in love with it as soon as you walk in the door. Service was superb - suggestions, information, questions answered, samples of wine shared, and a look at tonight's special (chicken or beef kabobs!). Our choices: half-charcuterie board and the two kabob specials - beef and chicken. You can see from the pictures how wonderful the presentation was. Of course it was delicious too. The board had two meat and cheese selections - I don't think you ever go wrong with well-aged prosciutto. Both cheeses were really splendid. A thinly sliced (maybe deep fried) focaccia was served with it giving some crunchy contrast. The kabobs were very good - the flavor in both excellent. The chicken was PERFECT - toasty yet juicy and paired with grilled red peppers. The beef was flavorful but it was served medium-well to well-done and I think that probably took away from the dish - it was what felt like the only flaw in the meal! It was paired with grilled red-onions and sun-dried tomatoes. Both kabobs were served over a well-dressed arugula salad that provided a beautiful bed for the skewers but was also very ample in size as an accompaniment. They have a smallish but very dynamic wine list! They do sell casked wine too - we didn't try that. I had a nice Pinot Grigio - a wine I've been staying away from for a hot-minute - but this was legitimately delicious and refreshing. Hubby had a Chardonnay - it came off with just a tinge of sweetness and he enjoyed it. We both had the sangria and it was bomb! Served more like wine - no ice or fruit but delicious. We were feeling a bit stuffed, so we grabbed a couple caramel and coconut macaroons, and a lavender cookie to take home and enjoy. Not surprised - they were scrumptious! All in all a great dining experience and I'd highly suggest it. We'll definitely be back! ‍ PS: I went back the next day to grab a terrific porkchetta sandwich and a couple more cookies for lunch. Nom-nom! Very good!!

I have been so excited to try Purveyor for awhile now! It's a fun take on a European market right in the heart of East Village next to Raygun. When you walk into Purveyor, you will see a large bar with an extensive on-tap and bottled wine selection. In addition to that, you can see the kitchen where the fresh meats and cheeses are created into delicious small plates or charcuterie boards. Overall, great experience dining here. Very knowledgeable staff and efficient for getting us our food in a timely manner. The charcuterie board had a wonderful variety with extremely unique cheeses (honey lavender espresso cheddar for example), fun adornments (pickled onions, candied nuts), and fresh toasted bread from South Union! I would love to see jam or mustards be a part of the charcuterie boards in the future. The Baron Sandwich is sadly the reason I could not rate my experience as a 5/5. The meat was high quality, but the sandwich overall was dry as a bone. I felt as though a sauce was needed and that the bread shouldn't have been toasted as much as it was. We also thought that the sandwich came with chips and ours did not. Will be back for a charcuterie board 100%, may take it or leave it for trying another sandwich personally.

    Petite board - $9 Great deal - 3 meat + 2 cheeses

Came in during lunch time and was not too busy. Overall great experience - bar seats and seats along the wall. Limited seating for large groups on main floor. They are working on fixing the 2nd floor for additional seating. Co worker and I ordered: 1. Petite board - $9 for three meats and two cheeses; great alternative if you want something different for lunch. 2. The Purveyor sandwich - bread is from C Fresh so light and crispy. Selection of meat and cheese on sandwich was great. Will be coming back after work hours to try the wine and beer.

    Maytag Blue Cheese

We stopped in because they had Maytag Blue Cheese listed on their website, and they did not disappoint! If you like wine, I think this is your stop. There were huge vats up top full of wine and several people sitting at the bar sipping on wine. There were a few baked goods (macarons, scones, etc.) and an entire container full of cheese and fancy meats. Come check it out!

Fabulous wine tastings, delicious desserts and all the meats and a cheese a gal could want! Cannolis, macaroons and more! Great spot for a date or a night out with your best with a gal pal. Staff and management are sweet. Solid place!

This place is worth visiting over and over. John and Drew are amazing. The Charcuterie is amazing. Great suggestions on the Sangria and IPA. Prices are reasonable and worth the value. I will be back and bring my friends.

Purveyor is located in the large grey building, in between Raygun and Dirt Burger.

We shared an array of food over dinner and it was all good, the winner was definitely the Purveyor sandwich!

Overall this place is cute and the parking makes it so easy! I got the chocolate strawberry waffle…read moreand strawberry cream smoothie. If I were to go here again, I would probably try a different menu item. The waffle was good, but nothing special. As for the smoothie, it was good. It was pretty strong on the coconut, but good. I believe they serve a hailey Bieber smoothie dupe, if I were to know that beforehand I would have got that. The place is decorated well and is cute. I'm rating it the way it is based on my opinion of other favorites in the area as this is more pricey than most breakfast places in the area.

I really love the decor and all the plants here, it feels cozy and inviting. I also appreciate that…read morethey have healthy options on the menu and clearly care about their ingredients, which you don't find at just any smoothie place. In terms of food, this place has been a bit of a hit or miss for me. The first time we stopped by, we had smoothies, and they were delicious, creamy, and not too artificially sweet, yummy but still felt healthy at the same time. The second time, we tried their coffee and waffles. The latte was good, and I liked their seasonal flavor options. Unfortunately, the gingerbread waffle we tried was practically inedible, wayyyy too spiced, to the point it tasted medicinal. The pomegranate seeds on top, which looked pretty at first, were actually soft and mushy, clearly not fresh. That said, I'm still willing to come back for another smoothie, because those were really good.
