My opinion of Black Cat Ice Cream is a positive one. Walking in, the atmosphere was interesting with the choice of decor being witch-like and a lot of black cat motifs. Their menu is usually updated everyday with new flavors to try, and the staff are very cherry when serving their customers. I really liked how instead of using spoons for their ice cream, they use wood sticks for us to eat it with. The ice cream itself if pretty high quality itself and the price for it is justifiable.

4.5* (out of 5) Food: 5* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 4* Service: 4* 06/17/2023 This place has been on my Want to Go list for a while and finally got to experience it on Father's Day since we were in the area (and I LOVE ice cream). It is a bit of a surprise as you pull up, as it is in a very residential area - leading you to initially think the map is wrong. The exterior is clearly recognizable as a business though and everything about this place is quite unique if not a little eclectic - from the modern facia to the black cat painting on the sidewall...and then the black cat bike in the patio area. Sticking with my nature of wanting to try something new, my wife and I ordered the Ice Cream Nuggets (see picture) split between 3 Classic & 3 Killer Bees - and really enjoyed them. As the name implies, they looked like chicken nuggets...but were filled with ice cream and had a corn flake crust. If you've ever had fried ice cream at a Mexican restaurant - think of it as that but on a smaller scale with bite-sized finger-food portions. They were very good - and the Fudge dipping sauce was an excellent complement! If you like ice cream as much as I do, you will definitely want to stop and sample some made from scratch daily unique deliciousness! We tried this unique hot spot for the first time and it didn't disappoint. The ice is very unique and delicious. My favorite is the crème brûlée; it's super rich! The service is great, staff is incredibly friendly. They have a beautiful outdoor patio area to sit at as well. Don't forget to check out the wall of black cats!

Came for the Killer Bee and was not disappointed even though it had been hyped up a lot. It's sweet, has a spicy kick, and the ice cream is just really solid quality as well. Great creamy mouthfeel. The other two flavors happened because they let me do tastings and I couldn't say no to either one. Yes I ate all three with almost no help, and no I don't regret it one bit. Amazing ice cream, very cool retro punk vibes, and overall just a fun experience.

The best ice cream shop in the Drake area. Service has always been friendly. Depending on the day it can get fairly crowded, but plenty of people just stop in to get their ice cream to go. Not a lot of seating inside, it is fairly small. But they have a very cute patio. If you walk out the back to the patio, you'll see the corner full of cat pictures :) Their flavors rotate a lot but they update their website and Instagram on what's happening. I've had their ice cream nuggets and they're pretty big. I do let them thaw a bit after getting them because you do have to bite into it. They do take Apple Pay.

Definitely recommend going during one of their cat adoption events! During nice weather they have cat adoption events with the local shelters. Also love their ice cream nuggets!

Stopped here on a warm, Autumn, night for my second visit. The line was much shorter than the first time I came, which was during the summer. My husband was along for this trip. Sadly, the flavor I really wanted was already devoured by other customers so I went to my backup plan. I had Beetlejuice and Brown Butter Cookie Dough. My husband had Trick-or-Treat and Red Velvet Oreo. The ice cream itself is fine. We enjoy the fun combinations for flavors that are available. We were disappointed with this visit as both of our should have had candy in them. My husband's Trick-or-Treat had one, small piece of candy. When the description for the flavor lists four different candies in it, you'd think you'd have lots of candy in a scoop. It just wasn't that. My Beetlejuice also had only one piece of candy. My Brown Butter Cookie Dough had a single, small piece of dough. My husband's Red Velevet Oreo seemed to have an ok amount of Oreos. Not the best trip to this tasty spot. Hopefully a next one will fare better.

This is the most unique ice cream store I've ever been to! I love it simply for the that! I sampled their red velvet Oreo and killer bee. They are not afraid to mix in spice, the killer bee had habanero! I had to go with the ice cream nuggets, who can say they've had that?! They were vanilla rolled in cereal crumbs, and a few choices of dipping: chocolate, cookie butter, habanero strawberry. I went with chocolate and to add another sauce was .50. In total my ice cream was $10, so a little pricy for 6 ice cream nuggs. But the service was fast, and the store was clean! I love the ice cream treat! Words of advice: pay for the extra dipping sauce. If you love dipping in sauce, one cup wouldn't have been enough. Also, the nuggets start hard as a rock so if you don't like chewing ice cream give it a few minutes. But, be warned they warm up fast and get harder to hold. I should have gotten a spoon for the end. But all that to say it was fun and I can't wait to bring friends!!

Ice cream nuggets are so good and look like chicken nuggets!! My friend and I were in town for a concert and we wanted to try some places that we'd never been before. Ice cream is delicious and the theme is really cool.

Decided to try Clyde's Fine Dining before a show. We arrived just before 5 and they had one table…read moreavailable without a reservation. Happy Hour from 4 to 6. I had the Old Fashioned with brown sugar, orange bitters, angostura bitters, and bourbon. It's pretty sweet and smooth Old Fashioned. Very nice start and enjoyable. Decided on the CFD Burger, a double smash with American Cheese, Shaved Onion, Pickles, and Clyde's Burger Sauce. I really like the shaved onion and it gave the beef a really nice flavor. First bites were very good, but the bun became too much and the sauce in the middle too heavy. Became hard to finish. I had to ditch some bun and would get the sauce on the side. Not terrible, just not my jam. I would get the sauce on the side or try ketchup/ mustard instead. The bun is just really thick and heavy. Just not a good ratio. The fries were just ok for me and not exciting. This restaurant also has the 3% fee if you use a credit card. I checked the receipt and gave a hundred dollars and asked for change. I included a picture of the receipt. I got thirty in cash back, 5 singles, a 5, and 2 tens. I am ok with not giving the change of coins, but rounding it up and keeping the 3% fee made me feel like integrity has went down hill. Yes it's less than 5 dollars and I know the haters will say what's the big deal. Well it's a neat way to make extra cash at the customers expense. They don't remove the fee and they keep a few dollars. That's not an accident and it feels like theft. I had left $12 for the tip, but after a review I left 10% due to dishonest customer service. What's the point of paying cash on these if you still get charged? Some have said it's leftover from the Covid Days. How many restaurants are doing a 3% fee? Yes, I know it's supposed to cover the CC fee, but it is obviously not if you are paying cash. This just feels really crooked and wrong. Yes it is a very small amount, just over $4, but if you do that how many times, how many days, over a year it definitely adds up. Not sure I would go back. No I didn't talk to a manager or anyone. I had a show to catch and wasn't going to ruin a night over a fee and be late. Just be aware of the fees when paying cash. Really feel the 3% fee just makes restaurants look bad and provides more problems than it solves. Why not add a 6% fee for lights and gas next?
