The food is a 10/10! I love the self serve side bar that is provided because I need more than just two sauces (which is what other places tend to offer) I usually only order take out and never eat inside but the service is pretty average, they take my order, I grab my sides and then I leave. The ambiance is very spacious, many people are welcomed to sit in eat, they offer booth areas and regular 4 persons table seats. The only iffy part is that it has gotten quite pricy within the last few years. However Morgan Hill doesn't have much to offer when it comes to authentic Mexican Food. read more

If I am in Morgan Hill and want to have some good Al pastor, this is where I am going. Seriously love the Al pastor here, the flavor is YUM. Today I tried the grilled shrimp with chili, I am not too sure the name because I asked the woman who took my order and she told me it was going to be hot. But when I tried it I felt like it was just enough spice. If you are looking for a quiet spot to eat Mexican food, this will not be it lol. They have Banda playing very loud, but I still recommend, it's the vibe. read more

Came for a burrito, just a regular burrito, crispy. Paid $1.50 EXTRA for it to be cooked a bit longer to add that crispy tortilla texture to it. I was very disappointed with them cooking it a little longer on one side. I feel it was a waste of money and they didn't even deliver what I paid first. next time, I'll just get a regular burrito and not ask for crispies it ends up being the same thing. A plus, the lady at the register was welcoming. read more

Terrible food! I have been to the other locations, and the food was better than the garbage I ate yesterday from this location in Morgan Hill. I wasn't too hungry ( thank goodness) , so I opted for the vampiro with carne asada as my meat option. I also paid 1.75 extra for avocado slices added. Unfortunately, the avocado was the best part of my meal. This was the worst carne asada that I ever tried. It obviously was not fresh, and the meat was grey and dry. Not even a ton of salsa could save it. Disgusting and I will never be back. I got so sick from this food about an hour later. I would not recommend this place at all. Add in the fact that they charge 5.00 for a fountain drink, and we have a problem. read more

Lots of variety on their menu. My mom and I were craving fish tacos and nachos! Fish tacos: It was a bit pricey for 2 tacos but they do load up the toppings. Very flavorful fried fish that was very juicy. Yummy chipotle sauce drizzle over the pico and lettuce. Nachos: We got the al pastor nachos which came with a sizeable amount of meat and pickled toppings. We definitely had leftovers for the next day (which were still yummy!) The only thing is that the sauce bar was running low on some things, especially the cilantro avocado salsa. There was a customer picking up the entire sauce tray and trying to scoop at the edges. Otherwise, pretty well-kempt restaurant with ample seating to have a meal while conversing with friends. Doesn't get too loud. Parking is easy (located inside a plaza). Staff is nice and welcoming. read more

Over priced, average food, and poor customer service. They are closer to bottom of the list of restaurants in Morgan Hill, especially for Mexican restaurants. Don't waste your money here, Las Isabelas is way better. read more

Love this place!!! The pastor is amazing and they don't skimp on the portions. Their avocado salsa is da bomb!!!!!

Definitely not worth purchasing from here. Food is over priced and not very good. I ordered a taco plate to go; they forgot the tortillas and refused to refund me a portion. It wasn't worth driving all the way back for just the tortillas. I won't be going back. read more

2.5 stars. I am currently not eating burgers so we decided to order from Tacos Ameca. We would've normally just gone to super taq but we didn't want a burrito and wanted to try something new. First off, we looked on Yelp to see the menu and the food photos. We called and the person who answered didn't give us a price total, just a 20 min wait pickup time. We arrived within 18 minutes. Right away I noticed the restaurant had a total of 4 people inside. Customer service gets zero stars. The person wasn't friendly over the phone and was serious in person. He didn't greet us with a smile or a welcome. He only spoke to say the total- $70. I was in disbelief because online it says otherwise and how is this worth $70. We pay and grab our salsas. Presentation is pretty- the quesadilla had grilled onions and avocado, for which apparently I paid extra. The meat is fresh and yummy, not chewy. We didn't finish the other quesadilla because it was a lot of food and it was a lot of meat. I wasn't expecting the portions to be this big and an immense amount of meat. I will say I'm not a huge meat eater so I would've liked less meat. I could barely taste the cheese in the quesadilla. It was more like a taco with a sprinkle of cheese. If you love your meat, this is for you. Would I come back again? Probably not. Would I recommend it? Not for $70 and especially not for the customer service. Maybe if you want to eat tons of meat and like big portions, then you'll enjoy Tacos Ameca. Also, I took a picture of the menu because the menu photos on Yelp are inaccurate. read more

The tacos here are so over priced they are close to $5! They are not good at all! Don't bother going here. We went since we were in town for the weekend and we were so disappointed and couldn't believe we payed $5 per taco and $4 for avocado! That's crazy! read more

I asked for four tacos de lengua. I didn't know it would be this big. Also, they were going to charge for cilantro, onion, etc. The soda is $5.86 ! The most driest tacos too. Great Al Pastor burrito. Very happy with the flavor and quality of the meat, which did shine through all the other ingredients. Just had the Super Burrito, it was more than plenty though. My colleagues come here often when we're in town, they recommended it. I really like the menu. The best tacos in the South Bay are now in Morgan Hill. The handmade tortillas are perfect and always fresh. One taco usually come with 2 tortillas and enough meat to fill both tortillas. They serve a variety of meats including carne asada, al pastor, tripas, carnitas, lengua, etc. They have some of best tripas in the Bay Area. The tripas are always super clean, seasoned to perfection, and have a nice bite to them. They also have great nachos with homemade chips. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced but add-ons like onions and avocado can quickly add up. There is an awesome salsa bar stocked with all the staples. They also have beans at the salsa bar to add to your tacos. If you're looking for potentially the best tacos in the Bay Area definitely give Tacos Ameca a try! read more

First time to try this taqueria and we won't be coming back. The meals we ordered were dry and not tasty. The only good item was the tostada. It is the only item I can recommend. I suggest finding a different place to eat as there are better taquerias close by. read more

I gave 1 star for the delicious jalapeño and onions that come on the side and 1 star for the homemade tortillas . As for the other food and the price I would give zero stars. My husband ordered nachos , my son got a burrito. Both carne asada. I ordered the Chili verde Plate which was $17.95. The carne was so dry , even after adding salsa. the best flavor of the dishes were the lime we squeezed on our food. We spent almost $70 . Food is way over priced especially for the quality of food you get. Not worth it all. read more

First time and last time dining here. I live around the corner. Rip Off and mysterious charges. Asked for kids burrito, got charged for normal size. Taco salad is weak af. Also charged extra $1.50 for avocado I didn't ask for. So $17.50 for what you see in the photo. Asked if chips are included, "yes" the answer by a non English speaking person who then charged me $4.25 for a plate of chips. Food is basically nothing special, tastes burnt. read more

Overrated!!! Not worth it for 2 tacos and 2 quesadillas, for $43. So disappointing, need my refund honestly.

The food is awesome, service is eehhh, can be better. Staff is not very personable at all. It's clean inside and out if you'd like to eat there. It's a bit chilly inside, the AC must be blasted!! My only complaint would be the prices!! 30 bucks for one burrito is just crazy to me!! So we will limit our visits there! read more

Finally tried Tacos Ameca after hearing so much about it. I ordered two carne asada tacos (not pictured) and had carne asada nachos for the table (pictured).
