I love the self serve side bar that is provided because I need more than just two sauces (which is what other places tend to offer) I usually only order take out and never eat inside but the service is pretty average, they take my order, I grab my sides and then I leave. The ambiance is very spacious, many people are welcomed to sit in eat, they offer booth areas and regular 4 persons table seats. The only iffy part is that it has gotten quite pricy within the last few years. However Morgan Hill doesn't have much to offer when it comes to authentic Mexican Food. read more

Terrible food! I have been to the other locations, and the food was better than the garbage I ate yesterday from this location in Morgan Hill. I wasn't too hungry ( thank goodness) , so I opted for the vampiro with carne asada as my meat option. I also paid 1.75 extra for avocado slices added. Unfortunately, the avocado was the best part of my meal. This was the worst carne asada that I ever tried. It obviously was not fresh, and the meat was grey and dry. Not even a ton of salsa could save it. Disgusting and I will never be back. I got so sick from this food about an hour later. I would not recommend this place at all. Lots of variety on their menu. My mom and I were craving fish tacos and nachos! Fish tacos: It was a bit pricey for 2 tacos but they do load up the toppings. Very flavorful fried fish that was very juicy. Yummy chipotle sauce drizzle over the pico and lettuce. Nachos: We got the al pastor nachos which came with a sizeable amount of meat and pickled toppings. We definitely had leftovers for the next day (which were still yummy!) The only thing is that the sauce bar was running low on some things, especially the cilantro avocado salsa. There was a customer picking up the entire sauce tray and trying to scoop at the edges. Otherwise, pretty well-kempt restaurant with ample seating to have a meal while conversing with friends. Doesn't get too loud. Parking is easy (located inside a plaza). 2.5 stars. I am currently not eating burgers so we decided to order from Tacos Ameca. We would've normally just gone to super taq but we didn't want a burrito and wanted to try something new. First off, we looked on Yelp to see the menu and the food photos. We called and the person who answered didn't give us a price total, just a 20 min wait pickup time. We arrived within 18 minutes. Right away I noticed the restaurant had a total of 4 people inside. Customer service gets zero stars. The person wasn't friendly over the phone and was serious in person. He didn't greet us with a smile or a welcome. He only spoke to say the total- $70. I was in disbelief because online it says otherwise and how is this worth $70. We pay and grab our salsas. Presentation is pretty- the quesadilla had grilled onions and avocado, for which apparently I paid extra. The meat is fresh and yummy, not chewy. We didn't finish the other quesadilla because it was a lot of food and it was a lot of meat. I wasn't expecting the portions to be this big and an immense amount of meat. I will say I'm not a huge meat eater so I would've liked less meat. I could barely taste the cheese in the quesadilla. It was more like a taco with a sprinkle of cheese. If you love your meat, this is for you. Would I come back again? Probably not. Would I recommend it? Not for $70 and especially not for the customer service. The best tacos in the South Bay are now in Morgan Hill. The handmade tortillas are perfect and always fresh. One taco usually come with 2 tortillas and enough meat to fill both tortillas. They serve a variety of meats including carne asada, al pastor, tripas, carnitas, lengua, etc. They have some of best tripas in the Bay Area. The tripas are always super clean, seasoned to perfection, and have a nice bite to them. They also have great nachos with homemade chips. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced but add-ons like onions and avocado can quickly add up. There is an awesome salsa bar stocked with all the staples. Finally tried Tacos Ameca after hearing so much about it. I ordered two carne asada tacos (not pictured) and had carne asada nachos for the table (pictured). My tacos were pretty good and loaded with small pieces of chopped steak with minimal fat, topped with avocado slices, cilantro and grilled onions. Service was friendly and fast. My family and I stopped by because we love Ameca in Gilroy and haven't been to their new spot. I gave a one star because the food is good but everything else was not a pleasant experience. The employees were not friendly, not helpful and there's no AC. My husband ordered tacos de lengua and was asked if he wanted everything on them and he said yes. He was never told it's $4 extra for "everything." He also wanted a beer and since he didn't have his ID on him, they didn't give him one (rightfully so). The issue I have is that when the next customer came in to order they didn't make him show his ID and gave him a beer. I called in my order for some take out. The woman who helped me suggested two tacos per person vs. three because they are larger than your average taco. I'm so glad she suggested that otherwise we would have so much food left over. We tried chicken and asada tacos, both very tasty. They even packed them for us two per plate which made it easy to distribute to our team.
