Mixed fajita plate with rice and beans
Meng Y.

I was staying in Gilroy for the night and this place got good reviews so me and my boyfriend tried it. The inside was very bright with walls of yellow and orange paint and kind of festive. Parking can be difficult and tight there was barely one 1 spot left that we parked in. We ordered the mixed fajita plate which was $26 which came with chicken, steak, and shrimp with bell peppers and onions. It came with 4 tortillas, lettuce, rice, and beans. There was a high school wrestling team that had a huge order before us and I thought I would have to wait a long time for food but the food came out surprisingly fast in 15 min! The food was good. They also have a salsa bar where you can get whatever salsa you want. The prices were kind of high in my opinion for a casual mom and pop Mexican restaurant but the fajita plate did come with a lot of food.

Probably the worst burrito I've had. What the heck, this place looks hella authentic, felt like I was in TJ. Until you look at the price. $6 for a taco, and burritos starting at $12. We got burritos because supposedly they are known for it. My $12 regular burrito listed rice, beans, onions, cilantro, and choice of meat. I chose carne Asada. I swear, it was the saddest burrito ever. I live in SD, so our burritos down there are amazing, was hoping the same. The burrito was so sad, it was super small for it too. I took a pic of it next to my hands, which are small in general. They dice up the meat super tiny, so it gets dried out. There was no onions or cilantro in there. I asked for no beans. Burrito was on the thin side too, half was tortilla. I would say their tortilla was good and fresh! There was no flavor in the meat and no flavor in general, super plain. Meat was also chewy, got some weird parts. But a good thing was their salsas. It was really good! You can drench the burrito in their salsas to give it flavor. I would not come here again. Or recommend it. The guy grilling meats outside smelled so good too. So disappointed.

Bunches, el pastor, tripas and two lengua tacos

Food is fabulous, amazing flavor, fresh ingredients and very generous portions! Menu had a large variety of dishes to choose from and they all look good! Pricing was a bit high but well worth it!!

Used to go to Tacos Ameca pre pandemic, one of my favorite places. Honestly disappointed now. Reviews my receipt to realize that I was charged for EVERY SINGLE TOPPING on a super carne asada taco "with everything" without disclosure. Base price for a taco with meat is $5! Was charged for, grilled jalapeno and grilled onion, beans and guacamole & cheese. Ended up being close to $8 per taco which is crazy. I don't mind paying this price at all, I hate not being told about extra fees for something that's advertised as a super taco already. Robbery. Never again. Robo al cliente en cobrar extra por cosas que viene en un taco normal en casi todas taquerías, y sin aviso. Nunca jamás.

Today was my first trip here and it was awesome! I can't wait to come back and try all the other yummy menu items. Fresh tortillas made every day already make this place stand out but the salsa bar is exceptional! There was a guacamolito salsa, a chunky roasted tomato salsa (molcahete?), a red taco sauce, and a green taco sauce. All of them were great but my favorite was the molcahete salsa. I barely skimmed the menu and Choriquezo popped out at me as one of their specials. It's was a generous portion of chorizo flat top grilled with cheese, piled over and under 4 homemade flour tortillas. You basically make tacos out of the gooey concoction. It was a great way for me to try out all the salsas. I also got a Chile Verde taco and that did not disappoint. The Chile flavor was great and the pork was nice and tender. It was about when I took my first bite that I noticed the Al pastor on the vertical rotisserie in the kitchen, that's definately on my radar for my next visit. I'm rarely in Gilroy but I have a new reason to come back. This place rocks! Give'em a try!

A lot of beans on a simple taco

If you want to get a ton of beans on a simple taco go for it, food it's very disappointing

Ordered 2 tacos 2 go, I always thought they had cheese and topping on them but when I got home I received dry tacos with nothing but just meat , drove a long way to get them and it's disappointing, not to mention this are 6 dollar tacos !!!

I paid for a super burrito and got this. Terrible cooks and customer service. This is a complete embarrassment .

Best tacos in Gilroy in my opinion, everything is made to order. Not the fanciest of place but that's how I like it!

The young man at the register kept touching his face, nose, eyes. Also the man handing out the orders seemed a little rude

I am a board member of the Northern California Fire Fighters Golf Association . They came very highly recommended, but I was nervous as this was our first time using them. Angela instantly put me at ease with her thoroughness and attention to detail. From start to finish she was super easy to communicate with both via phone and text . She took the time to ask questions and understand my vision for the party and worked with me to make it happen. She was even able to provide me with contacts for certain items I was looking for and couldn't find. She stopped by prior to the event for a walk through to see the location and ensure set up logistics and anything I hadn't thought about. Day of Angela and her Husband and the Califass Street Taquiza Team arrived early and quickly set up and transformed the catering area into a beautiful buffet. Her Staff was super friendly and professional. I received numerous compliments from my guests not only for the great tasting tacos, food, and aqua frescas but for how beautiful their set up was. I was actually able to sit down and enjoy my event confidently knowing that everything was taken care of. By the end of my event Angela felt more like a Family Member whom I've known for years. Looking forward to working with her again and I encourage anyone looking for a caterer or taquiza to hire her as she does it all in a one stop shop.

For me, I am not a huge seafood lover- unless I am in Monterey or San Francisco. The vibe of this restaurant is pretty interesting. Think Dia de Los Muertos in a discoteca. I think this place better serves as somewhere to get drunk which makes the food seem better. The food is not bad , just doesn't stand out from anywhere else. On my visit, I opted for the chile verde with their handmade corn tortillas. The chile was spicy enough for me and the tortillas were fantastic. Shout out to the tortilla lady preparing those fresh all day! The refried beans were really runny- I should have asked if they offered whole pinto beans as an option. Service was pretty good, although I wasn't quite sure who our server was . We had multiple people come to our table during our visit. I think this restaurant is fun and interesting with solid food options. Would I be back? Yes, if I want to drink, listen to loud music and eat some damn good tortillas!
