Plenty of parking space which is always nice! The entrance is a little inconvenient since there's a metal bar that would require you to go over or under to get to the doors. Apparently you have to go around the side but I'm lazy so I just ducked under the metal bars lol. I ordered the cowboy, picosito, and The Cha Cha drink which is coffee and horchata (with almond milk). The Cha Cha was okay- the flavor wasn't really doing it for me but it's dairy free so that's always a nice option to have! The cowboy was delicious! The beef was tender and the cheese and guac added a nice touch. The picosito was okay- the beef was a little too salty imo. If you want to add extra flavor, there's a salsa bar on the side which had four or five different flavors- the spicy ones got some heat which I enjoyed. I like how colorful and clean the interior was! Overall, it's not a bad spot to get some tacos but I wouldn't exactly go out of my way to go here.

I went close to closing time, sorry. The parking lot is shared between other businesses. Plucker's patrons take almost all of the parking. So it's not easy to find parking. Entering Tacodeli, you have to go around the fence or hop it or go under it. Since I went so late, they ran out of one of the tacos I wanted, but it's ok because I was there to try different tacos. I had a queso and chips, grilled shrimp taco, cowboy beef taco, pork verde taco, and a fabulous pink drink from the fountain. Super friendly employees, so nice to let us eat there after 9 (they close at 9). There is a weird smell there. When we entered it was very apparent, but it disappears as you stay longer. Will return to hopefully try more tacos.

Finally open so I stopped in! Friendly staff who welcomed me when I walked in and had recommendations. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. It's organized and clean. I ordered: The queso ( Roberto brazo) Vegan( papadulce) Chicken( pollo fantastico) Beef (cowboy) Queso had nice flavor included peppers, beef and guacamole. I liked the flavor but would like a little more spice to it. The guacamole was fresh. The vegan taco was surprisingly flavorful. Love the sweet potatoes. The chicken was decent but it was missing something didn't really stand out. The cowboy was amazing. Nice seasoned beef with a great cook. Tender and spicy. Everything in this taco works. This was my favorite! I do feel the prices per taco are a little high but I guess thats the times. They do have daily specials and a combo option but I opted for a la cart. They do have drinks and breakfast available

Supposed to be a taco with all the toppings. Don't do it.

It's a really cute place and that's where the good ends. The queso had good flavor although super thin and watery. The tacos are as underwhelming as you can get. I ordered the Friday special - al pastor, and it was special alright. The lady asked if I wanted everything on it to which I said yes. I have included a picture of the taco. I stand very concerned about what I would have gotten had I said I did not want everything on it. 5.50 for this? I will continue to take my business to tacos frontera and velvet taco.

The food was phenomenal -- specifically, the carne asada. There is usually a line to order and then it's first come first serve for seating, making it a bit challenging but very worth it! Once you sit down, they bring chicharrones to your table and they'll yell out your name when your order is ready and you raise your hand for them to bring the food to you. We also enjoyed some aguas frescas on a hot summer day and the churros were a perfect dessert! I will absolutely be coming back next time I'm in town, and hopefully the weather is a bit cooler so we can enjoy the patio.

While visiting family in Houston we were excited to come across a "real" Mexican (as opposed to Tex-Mex...iykyk) taco shop. As soon as you walk in and see the Tijuana and Baja Mexico signs and decor you know you're in the right place. There's an open kitchen, allowing you to watch your carne being grilled on the open-flame grill. That charged meat smell is heavenly! Their guac is chunky and simple (nothing too fancy), hot sauces are tasty (and they have a kick!), tortillas are thin but strong -- holding the goods in just right. It's also nice that they have complimentary tasty, crispy pork rinds -- as opposed to the standard chips & salsa. Portions are ample! They definitely don't skimp -- tons of meat and guac in their tacos and huge, meaty burritos! Prices are fair, especially for what you get! Their dining room is a tad small, but it's very clean and the a/c is good...there's also a nice patio outside. Service was swift and friendly. Food was good. A/C was poppin'. Parking was plentiful. All in all I have to admit that Tacos Frontera comes as close to good San Diego Mexican food as you can get...they would definitely be able to hold their own in San Diego!

Finding authentic TJ flavor in Texas (not Tex-Mex) was a welcome surprise! Our carne asada was grilled al carbón and you could taste the char! Juicy carne full of flavor, thin but strong and tasty tortillas (they really held everything together well), perfect chunky guac (not too fancy or full of fillers--IYKYK), and a variety of delicious salsas and hot sauces! An added bonus was the complimentary chicharrones! I'll take those over tortilla chips any day! The dining room isn't very big, but it's clean and has good a/c....there's an outdoor patio as well. Service was fast and friendly. Tacos and burritos were hefty and full of flavor. Ample parking. Limited indoor seating, and since it gets busy we usually order to go. When I did dine in it was nice experience, feels authentic like eating a local spot in Mexico. You have the Mexican cokes available, the style of tacos has a big scoop of guac which makes them a bit unique compared to other spots that charge extra for guac. Their tacos are big too! Not the mini small taco tortillas you get in a food truck. These are big tacos so getting 2 is enough for me. I've tried their Asado tacos and their quesadillas and their quesabirrias all 10/10.

Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was so unacceptable that I will never return. When placing my order, the employee taking my order appeared intoxicated. His eyes were drooping and closing, he repeatedly paused, mumbled, and seemed to struggle entering my order. Although this was concerning, I chose to overlook it and waited patiently. After about 10 minutes, I simply returned to ask whether my order had been placed and if it was ready. I was not upset, in a hurry, or complaining. I only wanted confirmation that my order existed because the employee kept responding, "No orders, no orders," despite me showing him my receipt. Due to an apparent language barrier, I called my Hispanic husband and handed the employee my phone so he could ask the same simple question in Spanish. Instead of helping, the employee began yelling at my husband. Another employee joined in, and both started yelling while walking away with my phone. When the phone was returned, I still had no idea what had happened or whether my order was being prepared. The situation escalated for no reason. The employees began yelling at me, aggressively slammed the service windows shut, ignored me, and treated me as if I had done something wrong. I remained calm throughout the entire interaction and repeatedly stated that there was no problem--I simply wanted to know if my order had been placed. Eventually, the food was thrown together carelessly, shoved into a bag, and handed to me with obvious hostility. The food quality was terrible, and the customer service was even worse. What disappointed me most was that this entire situation was completely unnecessary. I was respectful, patient, and simply asking a basic question. The combination of an employee who appeared intoxicated, the aggressive and unprofessional behavior from both employees, and the poor quality of the food made this one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I cannot recommend this location and will not be returning.

I've gotten the food here a few times over the last few years but the service my wife received today was ridiculous and unprofessional. Antonio was present and can vouch for what happened. My wife approached, looked at the menu, and called for my order. At that time the man in the truck pulled the tip jar in behind the window and then moved away from the window when my wife tried to order. Another person (antonio) had to take my wife's order. Bad enough. After she ordered and went to wait in the car a hispanic young man arrived, the same guy put the tip jar back out and took his order with no issue. We won't be back. We go out of our way to support food trucks and the birria ramen is good enough. The guys in the truck are even fighting, slamming items, and throwing things at each other in front of customers. This is at 3:20 PM on June 16th. One of the guys is/was bleeding and this is just a bad day all around. The food is good, the meat is always savory and juicy. Really depends on who you get cooking. Either way I don't appreciate how my wife was treated and I want to believe this was just a bad day. Things to consider. Good atmosphere and solid food truck experience.
