Pretty good. Good prices too. Got a variety of things and nothing to complain about for a late night trip for some good food.

My wife had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and I had a salad that was crisp, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and really well balanced--exactly what you hope for when you're traveling and looking for a good meal. It felt like a place that genuinely cares about the food they serve. If you're passing through Gridley, Rail House is absolutely worth the stop. We were genuinely delighted with the whole experience.

Another Pro Tip -- go here! I checked Yelp, and it's well-reviewed, so we stopped. Local place. comfortable seating. We sat at the bar/counter because that's where the action is. The service is great. For a small place, it has a good beer selection. We ordered the Broken Arrow IPA -- came in frosty glasses. My husband gave it a 5 on Untappd -- first 5 in ages. The food looks and smells great. But for the fact that we had just finished our car picnic, we would have been ordered. Next time. Our little road trip was fun, even if we couldn't see the wildlife, and well worth it because we found this little gem.

Visited on Saint Patty's Day March 17 2026. See my receipt as always…read more My girlfriend who lives in Colusa said they were serving corned beef and cabbage today! So glad we stopped in alittle after 11am. I have been here only once before in my travels. The corned beef and cabbage was so tender and delicious! We split it along with a small Caesar salad which was actually a very big portion! We still had leftovers! So wallet friendly which was surprising! They have several large tvs in the bar area seating. This place is dog friendly. Because I have a puppy I need to know that beforehand. BOTH inside and outside dog friendly! My puppy was happy and welcoming! They have a full bar with plenty of seating including a more private dining room. I had a nice glass of chardonnay and my friend had a dark beer similar to a Guiness ( they don't carry Guiness). It is definitely a locals hangout today. I heard they are slammed on the weekend and require reservations as there is very little competition in colusa for dining options. We had a great experience! Friendly waitress with fast service! I think her name was Lisa?? I will definitely be back sometime in the future on the weekend to enjoy their prime rib and other specials!

The salad was fresh d ed the cheese and fried onions. Very good. The steak was cooked to perfection and tasty. The veggies were al dente and the sweet potatoes fries were very good. Grant said too much food. He had the tortilla soup and special bread with a drizzle of balsamic dressing. Yummy. Atmosphere was quiet and service was friendly. We will be back.

Visited April 5 2026.. See my receipt as always…read more This is my favorite place for breakfast in Oroville! Today is Easter so we wanted a nice breakfast as I am cooking prime rib tonite! The classic breakfast is my favorite..2 eggs with 3 bacon and a ton of potatoes! Plus English muffin! Eggs are always fluffy and the bacon is crispy as I asked. My friend got the build your own omelet..he had mushrooms and sausage with cheddar cheese. ENORMOUS! tons of potatoes and he got the rye swirl bread. Their portions are plentiful and they are well staffed with friendly employees ( thanks Ally!) Plenty of leftovers. Outside dining is dog friendly!! Btw..spicy bloody Mary was perfect!

The menu looked good with many good sounding choices. #1 was eggs Benedict, #2 was 3 item omelet. The eggs Benedict was good. The omelet was not good. I ordered sausage, avocado, and pepper jack cheese. It was flavorless. The sausage was boiled and looked unattractive and had no taste, I had to use a lot of salt, pepper, and hot sauce to get flavor. The side dishes we ordered country potatoes, they were cooked well. Just needed salt and pepper. The portions are big. Two people could share either of these 2 dishes. Prices were about the same as other places, however a glass of OJ is $4.50, iced tea is $4.00. Those seem too high, especially the tea. Its water!!!
