We have visited Sutter Buttes Brewing many times over the past four years, and somehow I always forget to leave a review. Every single visit has been consistently wonderful. The service is always warm and welcoming, and the friendly atmosphere has never changed. We've come for both lunch and dinner, and we've never been disappointed. On our most recent visit, we tried the bavarian sampler, and it completely blew us away. Every bite was packed with flavor, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Over the years, Sutter Buttes Brewing has become one of our favorite comfort spots, whether it's during the fall, winter, or summer. It's the kind of place where you always feel welcomed and know you'll have a great meal and excellent service. If you're in the Yuba City area, this place is truly a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. We highly recommend it! read more

Oh my gosh!!! I was recommended this place by multiple people and was not disappointed. My husband and I shared two items on the menu, one of them being the JÄGER SCHNITZEL. Such a great night with 2 of my best friends! We tried an appetizer plate that had a delicious Brat with Sauerkraut, pretzel and other yummy stuff. Chad, our server was awesome. Amazing personality. Truly made our 1st experience a lot of fun and his suggestions were on point. We tried the Outlaw Mariachi beer and shared the Jaegarschnitzel which was delicious. read more

Well I just got back from Sutter Butte's and I'm feeling pretty good. I decided to try their shephard's pie along with their chicken wings. As someone who ate sober, I feel that the chicken wings were quite average and teetering on the edge of malaise. The chicken tasted dry and the breading was crumbling apart and tasted like dry cornstarch. I did ask for the sauce on the side and so this may have amplified the rawness of the starch. The shephard's pie was good but the sourdough bread that comes on the side could have been flavored more. I had to salt the dish and frankly, I used some of the ranch to boost the flavor. For $50.00 with tip, was it worth it? I am shaking my head in uncertainty. Am i happy i visited? Yes. Take that for what you will! read more

We had such an awesome experience at Sutter Butte Brewery! The food was amazing -- everything we ordered was delicious and super fresh. We shared the giant pretzel, spicy green beans, and the Don Calabria pizza. The pretzel was huge, perfectly warm and soft. I loved the mustard and my husband couldn't get enough of the cheese sauce. The spicy green beans had just the right amount of heat and were super flavorful. And that Don Calabria pizza... honestly one of the best pizzas we've ever had. The crust, the toppings, everything was spot on. We also ordered one of the beer flight samplers and every single beer we tried was really good. I also had the cider on tap and it was crisp and delicious. We will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend! read more

Excellent atmosphere and food is amazing! Service can be slow at times, especially when busy! Went one time and left because no one working there would even look at me or ask if I wanted a table! So just be warned. read more

Came for the beer but stayed for the Stromboli literally because it takes a good 30 minutes from order to plating. It was worth it! Hot and tasty. Good food and excellent service. read more

1- if I'm going out dinner during a hot day during the summer I want to go somewhere where the air conditioning is running at a comfortable temp. It was uncomfortably hot. 2- I don't like how my husband and I weren't checked after our dinner was brought to us. I was always taught to check on tables after the first couple bites, just in case something needed attention. In our case, my husband's dinner was less than. 3- His cavatappi w/ creamy pesto was not even warm. The sauce was very watery not creamy at all. He sent it back. Did not even want it re-made, nor did he want to order anything else. 4- my dinner, the patty melt w/ fries, wasn't up to par either. Either the fries weren't fried at a high enough temp or they had been sitting around for a while, most of them were partially soggy. Also- the fries were NOT seasoned whatsoever. read more

While on the road up north during the holiday weekend, my friends and I were looking for a place to stop for dinner and found this German place. I was sold by looking at the menu and seeing all the gluten free options. Even as a bigger group, it was easy to get a table on a Friday evening but was still lively inside. I couldn't resist ordering gluten free calamari which is typically a hard thing to find, and also got the Jager Schnitzel - first time I've ever gotten that since I couldn't find a GF version in Europe! Calamari was decent, I would have preferred more of a marinara-like sauce instead of the horseradish cocktail sauce it came with but still good. The Jager Schnitzel was hearty and delicious, the mushroom gravy was pretty savory - I wouldn't suggest it if you don't like mushrooms. Overall a great stop for a filling meal, but I was surprised that with all the gf food options they had that they didn't have a single gluten free beer. Definitely a missed opportunity, cause I would have enjoyed that with my meal! read more

Visited March 25th for lunch...see receipt. I was so hoping this place would deliver better food today! I came in specifically to try their giant pretzel as advertised but they were OUT of them!!! I also asked for a glass of their Zin on the menu but they were out of that too! The Positives is their beer is awesome! I am not a beer drinker but the sample of Probst was tasty! My friend really enjoyed his beer! They do know how to make tasty brews! Negatives is the bratwurst was completely dry and appeared to be OLD...possibly reheated too many times as well. The bread was stale. The potato salad was oily and didn't taste quite right. My hamburger lunch special was ok..nothing special but still decent. Fries were okay. I would probably come back for one of their delicious beers and a large pretzel (when they have them!). I would definitely skip the bratwurst. The waitress was by herself serving a very busy lunch clientele but doing a good job trying to stay up with everything. They have indoor and outside seating. They also have happy hour starting at 2pm. They have tvs to watch sports which is a plus. There is probably better places to eat in this area! PS. when I got home I noticed they charged me a credit card fee but I paid CASH! read more

Kat was an excellent server, really enjoyed her banter. Felt like we we actually dining in a brewhouse with the equipment and brewers behind the bar. Calamari was crispy and not too heavily breaded. Came out fresh and hot. The French Dip was primo, horseradish sauce was just right and the AuJus was almost too hot but perfect for sipping. The beer was good, food was delish and service was attentive and friendly. Will absolutely be back when passing though. Thanks again Kat and the brew gang. read more

Delicious food and wonderful beers! 5 of us had dinner here last Friday night. 3 of us ordered the Shepards Pies because we were told it is "life changing". It was very good. Hamburger and lamb mixed together in a very nice savory gravy. There were peas, onions and carrots on the meat mixture. The mashed potato covering was good. The other two had jaegerschnitzel and vienerschnitzel. They liked their meals a lot. We of course had beers too! The beers were very delicious and enjoyable to drink! The ambiance of the restaurant is very inviting and comfortable. Nice place with good food and drink! We will be back! read more

I really wanted to like this place, The service took FOREVER, beer was warm, we were given complimentary tots due to a misunderstanding in the kitchen, the food LOOKS amazing, unfortunately my daughters burger bun was burned so we had to send it back, my sons chicken tenders came with 1 piece, even thou menu states 2 pieces. (When we asked we were told that recently changed) Salad was okay, salmon piece was small. The ladies restroom was messy and the mens was locked for at least 10-15 min. Our waitress was nice but had her hands full and seem distracted not sure we will be back anytime soon. read more

Came in for the first time with my husband and several of our friends who met us there the staff and the owner are so nice and friendly and welcoming. I ended up getting the green salad and the spicy green beans with ranch. It was so good. And my husband got the fish and chips they looked amazing and my husband said it was really good. He got a beer also and I got a hard cider both were really good. The restaurant was somewhat busy but it was very clean and so were the bathrooms also. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant / brewery again and be recommending it to everyone we know. Sorry I didn't take pictures but I will next time. read more

This is a neat little spot in the somewhat revamped downtown area. The outdoor patio area is nice when the weather is cooperating. The place gets busy and very loud on the weekends so be prepared. It looked like we showed up as the rush was subsiding so we were seated as soon as they could get an empty table cleaned for us. Their beer menu appeared to be well thought out, I felt it offered something for everyone. The food menu was the same, although I chose this spot for the German side. My schnitzel was absolutely delicious and 5 stars on its own. Of course I skipped the fries and got the German potato salad, this was also delish. Pickled cabbage you ask? Yes, also on point! The wife got their German mac and cheese which was tasty but was only lukewarm when it was served, such a bummer for what was otherwise also a great dish. I've been wanted to check this place out for quite some time and I'm totally glad we did, just wish they could have nailed the wife's dish and they would have nailed it out of the park. read more

My husband, sister & I had the pleasure of stopping by here 3/15 around 3pm since they close at 4pm on Sun. We sat at the bar to have a beer. My sister got 16oz Late Night Porter $8.25. I asked our server Kat if I could get a taste of the Fireside Winter Ale and both my husband & I decided to get a 16oz glass $8.25 We also decided to share a Giant Bavarian Pretzel $13 which came with Dijon Mustard and Beer Cheese, which was yummy! We all enjoyed everything so much we opted to stay for entrees too. We asked Kat if that would be ok since it was nearing closing time, she said the cook said yes. My sister got a Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $18 which she enjoyed. My husband got the Fish n Chips $16.50 which he loved since it was several catfish filets and hot crispy fries. I went with the Chicken Strips $16.50 plus $1.25ea for 2 sides of ranch dressing. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy, and piping hot. read more

Delicious food, good service and specials. However, pls. wipe the tables amd menus off!!!! Everything was sticky.

The car club and I really enjoyed our visit here. We pretty much showed up with 13 classic cars and parked down the block in a parking lot. It was perfect. Unfortunately, I don't think they were ready for 18 people to pop up, out the gate. But to their credit and friendly service, they eventually knocked it out. We took up about 10 tables and put in a massive order, slamming the kitchen. Thanks guys, the food was great, along with a beer and exceptional service. Also love the way this place is set up. It is decorated with flags, pictures, so that you actually feel, like you're in a German pub. Hope to swing by again and try you schnitzel. read more

Took a group of bikers from Sac Hog here for lunch today. We received awesome service and great food, as usual. Thank you.

Upon entering the place is really cute German themed however there was a strong unpleasant smell which im unsure what it was. It's a beer brewery so its possible it was the ingredients for the beer. Cheese sticks are huge but felt there was a bad cheese to crust ratio. Super disappointed with the pizza. (sad face) Toppings were hidden under the cheese and the crust did not hold up well. Not a fan of soggy crusts or pepperoni. Customer service was a tad slow but the lady attending was nice. read more

Husband had work meeting here tonight and when home, stated his food was so underwhelming. We are returning customers so when this restaurant is mentioned for a meeting we are in. Husband said it felt as the cook rushed and threw all parts in one pile and tots were undercooked. Somewhere there was a disruption in service. Our town doesn't not have many reliable restaurants please don't fall into that path. read more

This place is super cute and had a nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Has good gluten friendly accommodations for those who were wondering. Very clean which is important. All of our food was good besides 2 of our dishes. One was a gf pizza which was lukewarm and left in the window for awhile. My husband got chicken pesto and it tasted like frozen olive garden food. You couldn't even poke through the chicken with a fork. He felt ick from eating it. So he just asked the server to take it off the bill and it was no problem. They were very apologetic. (Granted they were understaffed and very busy during a dinner rush). read more

The food was amazing - we had the French Dip, with brie and carmelized onions, and fish and chips, beautifully fried and fresh. The service was prompt and friendly. Had lunch there and tried the pastrami sandwich. They smoke it in-house. It was piled high with meat and the flavor was outstanding!

This location is a hot spot for amazing beer and some great German inspired dishes. Service here is always very sweet and attentive. They also make their own beer here and boy is it good. This location has the brewery right behind the bar so you can see the vats themselves and a very German visual aesthetic. I recommend the Jager Schnitzel Sandwich ! read more

This was once a decent place, but the food quality has gone downhill and the restaurant is filthy. Poorly run, I came in on a Friday night and the food took an hour and a half. I understand it was busy, but they obviously have a management problem because I've heard from many other people that this has happened to them as well. The only reason I would come back, is for the service. read more

First I'll say the food was fantastic. HOWEVER....we had a reservation for 4 at 6pm, got drinks and put in our orders within 10 min. We got an appetizer, salads and pizzas. After our first round of drinks and delivery of appetizer, we didn't see anyone again for almost 45 min. No drink refills, no salads no nothing. After over an hour of no salads they finally came out. The waiter (who seemed to be the only wait staff for a packed restaurant) came by and apologized, and we told him we'd take the pizza to go at this point. As we were watching for our food we saw a ton of to go containers being filled which made us wonder if online food orders were taking priority of customers sitting inside waiting for hours. Disappointed for sure, since this was my first experience at this establishment. read more

Mozzarella sticks would be better with less batter. If your shootingbfor authentic margherita pizza, it had many flaws. They do not have tomato slices...ever. The sauce should just be crushed, preferably using San Marzano tomatoes or other high quality plum tomatoes, no seasoning. And, most of all, the dough should have flavor, which is developed using "00" flour and a 72 hour minimum rise. The stout was excellent. read more
